5. The Unexpected Attack of Lyra

The day after, Lyra went to work. And not knowing the shame of Daniel coming to say hello as if he had nothing wrong at all. And it turns out that behind Daniel greeting there is another purpose that he wants to convey. Just don't want to put shame, Daniel says to keep his secret that Lyra is having an affair. Lyra ignored him even though Daniel kept begging. Four more years is not a time that Lyra was briefly in a relationship with Daniel. The sweet memories with her could not be erased in her shadows. So are the bitter memories of Daniel's affair.

Lyra withdrew from the room. He went back to his desk, then immediately cleaned and put the items on the table and in the locker into the box.

Just because she didn't want to meet Daniel face to face, Lyra had to give up her position at the company. But Lyra need not worry, because she is a graduate of one of the best universities in cambrige. It may be easy for him to get a job back, if he finds a company that opens a job opening.

Lyra moved her feet towards the exit. He walked with a sad face, sad because he was still thinking about his marriage being canceled, and sad because he had to leave his place of work. Two years of work was the most rewarding experience for him.

But suddenly Daniel came over when Lyra was about to step her foot out the door.

Daniel grabs Lyra's arm. "I heard you resigned from the company."

"Yes, isn't this what you want. When I get out of the office, you can calm down without fearing the secret of your affair."

"It's not what I want, I just want you to be able to keep my secret, that's enough. You don't have to resign from the company." Daniel then breathed his breath. "Don't make me feel more guilty, please cancel your resignation from the office."

Lyra tilted her smile. "Do you really feel guilty?"

"Of course I feel guilty, but I don't regret choosing my current boyfriend."

Lyra threw Daniel's hand from his arm. "I resigned and may never return to this place. If I just leave without good-bye, my departure will never be remembered by people. Before leaving I have to give good-bye to the people."

Lyra grinned. "I haven't had time to say goodbye to them, and I also need to say goodbye to everyone in this office, so that people can remember my departure."

Lyra took a deep breath and breathed it long. After that, Lyra spoke up. "As long as you know, this man who proposed to me romantically, turned out not to be the loyal and kind man you think I am. Two days ago she was caught sleeping with another woman in her apartment."

"Bas on a crazy woman." Daniel Maraih returns Lyra's arm. Being very angry, Daniel just raised his hand. However, by the time her hand was about to land itself on Lyra's cheek, it was suddenly that someone was holding her back.

Lyra swallowed her salivary, then poked towards the person who saved her from her ex's slap.

Instantly Lyra was shocked half to death when she looked at him. Which turns out to be the same person who saved him in the nightclub. The handsome, burly, tall man Lyra last left in a hotel room with three hundred thousand bills.

The man smiled and looked at Lyra. "Are you conscious and able to recognize me?"

Lyra spontaneously turned her face away from the man. "Oh shit!" Inner Lyra.

"Sorry, who are you? Could you please let go of my hand first" Daniel said.

The man threw Daniel's hand. "Oh, I forgot. Could you please tell your CEO that I've come."

"Sorry, but who are you?" Daniel asked in wonder.

Men look like a worker, wear a suit, and bring a secretary, of course it's important people from other companies who will contribute to the company where Lyra works. The man took out his business card from his wallet and gave it to Daniel. Who knows who it is, Lyra could not see the name of the small square paper that Daniel reached.

Lyra no matter who she is, all Lyra needs to do right now is to leave immediately to avoid the man.

"Thank you for helping me. But sorry, looks like I should leave soon." Lyra was in a hurry to move her legs.

"I'm sorry, but I don't have any more business with you. And I'm grateful, even at the hotel I paid you. So forget me, and never look for or see me again.
