Weeks Later, weeks,
One of the important events in the Peterson company is the anniversary of the company which is also the birthday of Mr. Peterson. He who this year is eighty years old, actually does not want to stir up on his birthday. His desire is to spend the day with grandchildren and as much as possible want to see his great-grandchildren.
But the people around him do not understand what he wants, they just run a tradition that has been running for years. And when there is something important at this birthday event, Eliana.
Rows of luxury cars lined up towards the heavily guarded entrance courtyard. People in black suits with earpieces in their ears were seen spreading in several places. They check everyone who comes, check the invitation card and make sure everyone who enters does not carry dangerous items.
Tony looked up before they came down. "Be confident, Baby. Hope everything goes well as planned."
(Confidence, Baby.)
Eliana nodded, she rubbed Toni's cheeks trying to calm her husband down. "I love you, Toni." she whispered.
Toni answered him with a quick kiss on the lips, opened the door and clasped Eliana's hand. "Let's get over this." muttered Toni later, as if she was talking to herself.
(Let's get this over with.)
Peterson's mansion has its own ballroom. Now the room that is set on a beautiful tail looks to have begun to crowded with various kinds of people. Almost all Peterson business partners are here to celebrate the birthday of the cold-handed businessman.
Their arrival is not just to congratulate them but as usual this dinner together can be a place to expand the network. At this event, brands can add acquaintances and smooth the path to 'success'. Not infrequently the business deal happens during the event. That's why, this event they always flocked - flocked to come, do not want to miss the opportunity.
Toni and Eliana were not surprised, if their conversation was not far away - far from business, politics and 'show' success.
"A, Mr. Anthony Peterson's. The Heir of Peterson Corp." A startling sound of Toni and Eliana walking side by side. They no longer join hands, but each of them still continues to be in a safe distance.
"Oh, Mr. Wilson. How are you?" Toni reached out her hand and greeted politely a middle-aged man.
"Well, you look more handsome and dashing." The man called Mr. Wilson immediately embraced Toni as if he was talking to his son. Makes Eliana a little bit run away. "I heard you stopped working on smart city with Tiffany. Come on, don't be so dong."
Toni chuckles. "Where's Mrs Wilson?" tanyakanya. Toni has already changed Aunty and Uncle's calls to Mr and Madam. And he shrewdly skewed the conversation, not wanting to discuss any business issues with Mr. Wilson.
"He's got business out of town."
Toni is a mangosteen, maybe Mrs Wilson is with Tiffany.
"I heard you have a replacement for Tiffany?" asked Mr. Wilson while glancing at the cynical Eliana. "Whose family's son is he? What's business?"
Sensing Mr. Wilson's ominous gaze, Eliana decided to look for Grandpa. Besides, maybe Toni's talking business. But just as Eliana was about to step up, Toni had already called her and gave her a code to approach.
"Eliana. , come to me, please!"
Eliana looked startled, she was a little nervous about going face to face with a bright person - looking scornfully at her.
Finding Toni's steady and unquestioning gaze, Eliana hurriedly brushed aside her doubts and approached them with more confidence. She is officially Mrs. Anthony Peterson's. That's the truth, no one can deny it.
"He's my wife, Mr. Wilson. Her name is Eliana." Toni introduced as she wrapped her hands around Eliana's waist proudly. "She's not a business woman, maybe she's not a child of any family you know. But she is my everything." asserted Toni, do not want Eliana looked down upon by anyone.
"Diana!"
Eliana approached and bowed, hugging her beloved Grandpa. "Happy birthday, Grandpa! Keep healthy yes, so that it can continue to be the same - same with us."
Grandpa chuckled with his trademark laugh and patted - patting Eliana on the back. "When I see my grandchildren happy, I'll be healthy."
Then Grandpa turned to the silent Mr. Wilson - silently watching Mr. Peterson and his granddaughter-in-law's interactions. They seem so close and loving to each other. He failed to become part of the Peterson family.
"All right! Let's start the show, I'm getting sleepy now" Mr. Peterson said, patting Eliana on the back of the hand.
As usual, the formal dinner only lasted for two hours, including a welcome and a story piece from Grandpa Peterson. And this time, what Mr. Peterson delivered left everyone speechless.
"I read a book called Everything Is F-u-c-k-ed. And there's writing that works for me, more or less like it sounds." Mr. Peterson paused for a moment and raised his gaze to those around him, then continued his sentence. "One day, you and everyone you love will leave this world. And the little things you do will be valuable. This is an unpleasant fact. Whenever we think how important we are, we think we have determined our purpose in life. But we're really nothing."
People applauded, Mr. Peterson raised his hand to give the code so as not to be too rowdy. After the calm, he continued.
"All humans are valuable because all the actions we do always have an impact on the lives of others. And even though all we're helping is one person, it's still something valuable isn't it?"
Everyone nodded in agreement and clapped back. Mr. Peterson smiled with satisfaction.
"Isn't that sentence interesting? Like Eliana who is so kind and sincere. He who is willing to lose his job just for the sake of people he does not know. For the sake of his heart's call to sincerely care for people and iklas.
Eliana looked down in shame, feeling Mr. Peterson was exaggerating - exaggerating. Especially when Mr. Peterson points his hand at him. Toni turned to Eliana with a proud look, a smile on her lips.
"In addition, in this book also writes that we must have hope to continue living. Psychologically, humans need hope that the future will be better. Hope is the fuel for our mental well-being. This book by Mark, made me realize that all this time, I lived with hope. The hope that Peterson Corp will move forward, my family will be happier. And for that, I hope --" Mr. Peterson raised the glass before him. "Let's toast to the life, hopes and heirs of the Peterson Group, my successor. Anthony Peterson!"
Eliana and Toni are glued to their place, not expecting that they are going public along with the announcement of handing over Mr. Peterson's position to Toni.
Mr. Peterson smiled and exclaimed in his hoarse voice. "Now, Peterson is him. Let's support him!"
