The Tahfidz Qur'an

The Tahfidz Qur’an event took place at a campus auditorium in Jember.  The event lasted for two days.  For the first day of the day filled by participants from among the children, from morning to evening.  The night on the first day is from among adult men.  The next day is still continued with the adult male participants.  Next came when the Nurul and Icha section performed, which is at night on the second day.

Icha's turn came before Nurul.  Nurul performed after seven participants after Icha.  Because the adult men are quite exhausted after they standby for two days at the place, then the participants of the son of the same boarding school representative with Nurul just wait at the hotel.

Arrive when Icha appears.  Participant calls are based only on the sequence number, not the name.  That made Mr. Sudarsono's plan even smoother.  Anyone in that place did not know any participants had deliberately exchanged their identities.  Icha was asked by the examiner if he was ready.  He answered her with a trembling voice.

Other examiners also advised Icha not to be nervous.  Then the rote test began.  “Please sister forward the following verse,” says first tester.  The first examiner read a verse and then stopped.  The initial part of Icha can answer it smoothly until Icha is asked to stop.  

Then, it arrives at the other verse.  “Still the same yes, Dik. Please continue the following verse,” said the first tester.  The same way was done, but this time the level was a little more elevated.  If in the beginning Icha is tested memorization on the final juz part in Qur’an, then this time the middle juz part of Qur’an.  

As Icha continues reading the verse, the examiner cuts.  He corrected Icha's rudimentary law of reading, then asked her to repeat and continue the recitation.  The more passages are tested, the more the Icha reading law goes wrong.

Arrive on the second tester's turn.  However, unfortunately Icha could not continue the rote test with the second tester.  That's because in the beginning Icha has done a lot of legal errors reading.  Fortunately the second tester was so friendly.  He gave words of appreciation and motivation to Icha.  Icha who is a girl who is easily persuaded by words can also accept the termination decision.

After Icha performed, then continued by other participants.  Then, it was Nurul's turn to perform.  Nurul passed tested by the first examiner very smoothly.  Then, he was tested by the second examiner, where the verses tested are longer and there are words similar to other verses.  So very astonishing for Icha who watched Nurul calmly go through all the test stages smoothly without negative comments from the examiners.

Then, Nurul went to the final stage, which is the test of verses that are randomized in order.  The test is given by the first and second testers alternately.  “Randomize three verses before the verse that I read the following,” said the tester.  Before answering, Nurul kept silent for a moment.  He tried to recite his verses without a sound with a moving mouth, then he read the answer.  “Good.  Next, read the verse whose meaning is in line with the following verse,” said the examiner.  Nurul also answered, but unfortunately there was one word that he misread.  The examiner also improved Nurul's reading.

Icha and Nurul are finally done.  Nurul is resigned and pessimistic can enter the ranking because his opponents look so great compared to him.  Moreover, Icha whose rote level is below Nurul, judging from the stages he passed.

After all the participants performed, there was a waiting period for the judges to announce the results.

“Wadd.  Sorry, Neng.  This game, yes.Gini, Neng, car tire broke.  It's a long way from there, Neng.  So, I picked her up late, Neng.  Really sorry, huh?  Don't bring me to the Master,” said the young man.  “Loh, where did Mas Wawan end up?  How can it be far?  Not the distance of the hotel to here not far very?” Icha protest.  Nurul who had been watching the others was suddenly curious about Icha's expression that was almost angry.

“Sorry, Neng.  Earlier, emh....Today.. “ said the young man hesitated.  “Hayo Mas Wawan why?  Why don't you answer my question?” say Icha.  Nurul tries to calm Icha because he does not want his friend to be the center of attention of people who are both in the audience seat.

“One of Neng's friends asked to be delivered to the mall.  Somewhat far away is the place, so.. “ said the young man.  “APAA?” said Icha who half yelled.  People also pay attention to Icha.  “Icha, hold.  Tuh, shame will be seen people become,” said Nurul.  Nurul then smiled at the people around him while nodding a little to ask for an impeachment.

Icha nagged and to stop it, Nurul grabbed Icha's phone and talked to the young man.  The conversation on the phone ended.

It is time for the announcement of the championship.  As most people guess, Icha will not be included in the ranking list.  The announcement was made without mentioning the sequence number except the name of the participant.  Icha's real name is the position Nurul referred to as the champion of hope.  Hearing that Icha is happy not to play.  He expressed his pleasure to Nurul.

Behind Nurul's smile that compensated for Icha's joy, Nurul was actually amazed by the results of the decision.  In addition, the people sitting near them looked astonished.  Some of them were whispering while glancing at Icha with a cynical face. 

After all the rankings were announced, the host also conveyed error information.  The host said that there were participants who fell from the ranking list because it had a minus value outside the main assessment of the examiners.  Everyone was silent, they were curious about that shifting ranking.  Nurul and Icha looked at each other.  

According to Nurul, the Icha assessment should have a minus value.  Everyone knows the ability Icha has shown it.  Icha has made a lot of mistakes in reading verses.  Nurul hopes he gets a place in that ranking.

While Icha, he was so worried.  Icha was afraid when the judgment given to her was mistaken.  Icha himself realized that he had the ability under most participants.  But, if the decision about him who entered the champion of hope continued, he would be very happy and not care what has been running in this event. For example, if his performance is a mistake, then Icha does not care. For him the championship result is the most important.

The host will also name the cancelled attendees.  Nurul and Icha were both curious, whose name would that be omitted in the ranking list?
