Tommy (revised)

Nurul wonders what made Tommy take her away.  A cynical smile adorned Tommy's lips.  “Because now I know more about what your purpose is.  It has to do with Brian, right?  If you don't tell me the truth, I'll say everything I know to Brian,” Tommy said.  His smile soon faded.  “It can end any scheme you are designing,” he continued.

So Tommy knew that far, or was he just guessing?  Nurul folded his hands together on his chest, trying to hide his trembling body.  “Tell me anything you want to say to Brian,” snapped Nurul.  “That's not important.  I don't want to go with you, Tom.  I'm definitely not going to say anything to you,”.

Tommy's mouth docked with a cruel grin.  “OK!  I'll talk to Brian later, but first you'll see Mr. Sudarsono.  I know he's the mastermind of all this.  Maybe he won't be as calm as you when I tell him that I plan to reveal your identity to Brian,” Tommy threatened.

Fear hit Nurul.  He could not have imagined what destruction he would have if Tommy had told Mr. Sudarsono…

"You can't do it!  Can't!" nurul protest.  Nurul let go of his pretense that he didn't care.  "Please, Tommy.. Don't do that!" continued.

"Why, Nurul?  Tell me so I can keep your secret quiet" said Tommy.  Nurul is tempted to tell Tommy everything.  But it's impossible.  After telling him that all this is related to Icha, Tommy will realize that this is also related to Rudi.

Tommy will certainly act soon if he sees that his friend's chance at happiness is destroyed.  He will also definitely come to Mr. Sudarsono, then the old man will make good use of his threat.  The thought made Nurul tremble.

"I-I can't, Tommy," Nurul said.  So tomorrow I'll go to Mr. Sudarsono" said Tomny.  "Well, did you promise to shut up?  He said gentleman, keep a promise you can't!" nurul.

Tommy looked in anger.  "I am a man who is seeing great danger that threatens you, Nurul.  This guy wants to protect you from the likes of Brian and Sudarsono" Tommy said.

"Brian? It's all because of Brian, isn't it?  You're just jealous of Brian and all the other guys who came up to me" Nurul said.  "I'm not jealous!" sergeant Tommy.  But the expression of fragility and anger betrayed his words.

"My reason is not important.  The choice is that you tell me everything.  Or I'll meet Mr. Sudarsono.  That's all!" said Tommy.

As Nurul looked at him, who was looking for a way to change Tommy's mind, Tommy added, "You have until the day after tomorrow to decide.  After returning to Jakarta."

"And after that you will destroy my life" Nurul said.  Tommy's jaw stiffened.  "Don't overdramatize.  Whatever the relationship between you and Brian will destroy you even more than my meddling is not how much this is," Tommy said.

"It's not. I can dramatize or imagine something scary.  You know, I never got involved in anything I really liked" Nurul said.

"Ah, time yes?  What do I really know about you?  You are good at disguising yourself, even though before you were so vocal if there are certain principles that you hold," said Tommy.  Tommy looked at Nurul's body.

"You have a talent for making men like you, want you.  That's what I know about you.  You played Brian and God knows you played me.  What's all that for?  For what, Nurul?" said Tommy.

"That's me!" nurul.  "From my point of view you look like that" Tommy replied.

Tommy has every right to be suspicious, but what else can Nurul tell the man?  How can Nurul escape from this problem?

Suddenly a voice sounded from the large room.  "Tommy, is that you?"

Rudi searches for Brian after he and Aunt Lupita are seen chatting together with their fairly suspicious glances.

“Tommy, is that you?”  The voice shocked Tommy and Nurul who were talking secretly.  That was Rudi.  Nurul looked at Tommy with a pleading gaze.  “Don't worry, I won't say anything to Rudi.  But the day after tomorrow, I will reveal your identity to whoever I want,” Tommy said.

Tommy walks through it and approaches Rudi, with an attitude as if he has just had an unimportant conversation with Nurul.  “I'll just meet you, Rudi.  Look, I'll be home soon.  I'm sorry for not being able to follow your show until it's over,” said Tommy.  Rudi fell silent.  The plan with Aunt Lupita seems to have just failed.  Brian who was their main target had already left, as well as Tommy who had intended to leave.

“Cepet really home?  I thought you were gonna stay here?  It's late and the trip to Jakarta is quite far,” said Rudi.  “Sorry, Bro.  Anyway I can't stay.  I have business to take care of.  You must understand,” said Tommy.

Rudi turned his gaze from Tommy to Nurul.  “Actually don't understand too much anyway.  But you will do what you want to do, as always.  No one can hold you back, right?” said Rudi.  Tommy looked back at Nurul, his lips twitching a grinning smile.  “Goodnight Maria.  I'll visit your house the day after ten in the morning.  Don't forget that,” said Tommy.

Nurul looked at Tommy.  Tommy must have known that Nurul couldn't possibly have forgotten this threat.  Rudi drove his friend out, then returned to the place where Nurul was still standing silent.  Nurul's hands were busy making knots from the ends of his shawls.

“Maria, are you okay?”  Gently Rudi grabbed the end of the shawl that Nurul tightly grasped.  “Tommy's strength has made you depressed,” said Rudi.  “That Brother's best friend always makes me depressed!  Right now I want to chop off his head and put it on the ball field!” nurul.

Rudi laughs.  “So great, Maria?” kelakar Rudi's.  It was a pity that Nurul was unable to tell what had happened to Rudi.  Wearing back the charm of Maria, Nurul looked at Rudi with an arrogant look.  “Sorry, Brother.  Rich things are common in Japan.  I am rich in Japan, so that I become a bloodthirsty person let alone a pretentious person who meddles in the affairs of others like your best friend, Kak,”, said Nurul.

“I hope he doesn't talk to you about Brian anymore,” Rudi said.  Nurul's eyes widened.  “Tommy told that to Sister?  Geez, the richness of his head is suitable to be kicked-tenda in the league ball,” said Nurul annoyed.  “Quiet, Maria.  I talked to him when he was angry.  He will babble unconsciously,” said Rudi.

“But I defended your honor in front of him.  I reminded him of how stupid Brian was.  Tommy usually ignores Brian's arrogance, but he tends to get jealous whenever it comes to you.  You should be flattered, not angry.  No one can make a Tommy jealous,” said Rudi.

“Yes, I'm quite flattered,” Nurul said harshly.  “Which woman wants the attention of a man who will never marry her, but is jealous of every man who smiles at her?” nurul's words countered Rudi's words.

Tears spread in her eyes, Nurul really hates her tears.  Nurul turned his face away from Rudi to hide his face.  He shouldn't have expressed his emotions like that.  Worried that Rudi will be able to guess Nurul's feelings later.

“Hah?  How...how?  Don't have any desire to get married?” said Rudi.  Nurul dried her eyes with the end of a shawl.  “So I know what I mean. Everyone knows about Tommy.  How she only likes the women ‘experienced’ like those charming young widows.  Tommy will be with them without harboring feelings.  Tommy is a stone-hearted person,” Nurul said.

Nurul's voice looked nervous, but could not calm himself down.  “He boasts about his immunity to normal human emotions.  He was so proud to call himself anti-melancholy,” Nurul said.  Rudi was silent for a moment.  Rudi then held Nurul's arm.  “It was true.  But I think he was proud of it just because he was afraid of all those emotions.  Tommy's heart is not as hard as you think, Maria,”.

Rudi put aside his dealings with Aunt Lupita regarding Brian's entrapment.  Brian left without saying goodbye.  Maybe he's looking for a clinic to spoil his hands or a hotel to escape, I don't know.  Or maybe Aunty Lupita's plan to frame him has leaked out?  But who leaked it, after all only Rudi and Aunt Lupita knew about the plan.

“Maria, can I tell you a little about my best friend?  Maybe it will help you to understand his strange behavior,” said Rudi.  “Kanya there is nothing that can make me understand a Tommy, Kak,” said Nurul.  “Ga problems.  Let's go to the city to my room.  I thought you wanted to hear my story,” persuaded Rudi.

Nurul.  He allowed Rudi to hold him across the hall.  He may need to hear about Tommy, though he can say that nothing can change his mind.  Tommy is just one of those men who feels emptiness in his heart.  The sooner Nurul accepts it, the better.
