Consultation with a Circumcision Doctor

The change in Tommy seemed so real.  This is the result of his keenness to absorb the knowledge and exemplary qualities imparted by his teachers, his spiritual teachers.  It makes Rudi, Tommy's closest friend feel the immediate impact.

Complaints after complaints that Tommy used to convey to him were greatly reduced.  For Rudi, Tommy is now someone who is more mature.  He welcomed the change in Tommy.  Although, in fact, that support had been given to Tommy from the beginning.

While studying religion, Tommy was far from Nurul.  His mind is conditioned to the truth.  For him, women, treasures, let alone hard drinks were a real barrier to absorbing the lessons of religion.

Tommy had heard his religious teacher tell a story.  There was someone who wanted to deposit the memorization of his Quran to his teacher in another area.  A person goes through the market to travel to his teacher's place.

In the market, someone accidentally saw the shape of a woman's body passing by, the woman turned her back by walking in front of her.  That's because the wind that blows fluttering the cloth that covers the woman's body.

Because of that undue vision, or it is said to be a sight that is haram to be seen because it is not a mahram, a person cannot complete his memorization when he is faced with the teacher where he deposits his memorization.

It takes cleanliness of mind and heart to absorb a good.  The memorization of the Quran is good lost because it is covered by sin.  In the heart of man it is impossible to unite two loves, the charity of goodness and the love of evil.  Tommy, trying to separate his habit of acting to be able to absorb religious knowledge as well as possible.

The motivation to enter the religion of Islam is very clear to him, which is for his own good.  Not for a woman.  In the past Tommy did deny the change in himself and his life because of the influence of religion, now he can not deny it because he felt it himself.  There is an incredible calm.

Tommy was actually also a religious believer, but he was not a religious person who was so routinely worshiped.  So, even though Tommy used to be religious, he still could not avoid the motions.  Destiny has led him to become a follower of a different religion.

His chosen religion can now condition itself with more focus on being a prosecutor of religious knowledge, even though it is still a new learner.  He lamented about his former self, who did not care about his religion even though it was a different religion.

However, in the end Tommy also admitted that the motions were also what made it turn out like this.  He was introduced to a girl even in an inappropriate way.  That girl is Nurul.

His blindness to the beauty and pleasures of sin brought by Nurul allowed him to get to know his new religion.  Until there was a reason for Tommy to feel contemptuous, ask for forgiveness of sins, and fear his Lord.  Sins that can subdue his ego and arrogance as a human being.

Step by step Tommy took to become a Muslim.  He finally visited a clinic recommended by friends from his fellow converts.  The usual clinic of circumcision or skin tightening is********muslim men.

“Loh, right now until the circumcision?  We came here for a consultation with the doctor,” said Koko Chan.  “Iya, anyway.  Ouch, Mas.  So shame, me,” said Tommy.

Tommy enters the doctor's office.  The doctor who met is a male doctor, as recommended, that in this clinic the doctor who practices circumcision is a male doctor.  This is to avoid any perceived impropriety between the patient and the doctor.  However, the practice of circumcision is still done by male doctors even though the patient is a child.

Tommy, Koko Chan and the doctor talk three times.  They talk about the technology and equipment used, the procedure performed, the preparation made by the patient to the patient's habit after circumcision.

Although still having feelings of nervousness and fear, Tommy can condition himself so that he is calmer.  But, what makes him more calm is the words of the doctor.  The doctor can explain everything Tommy asks in a relaxed tone and occasionally followed by small humors to break the tense atmosphere.

“He said that after circumcision the skin marks become blackened, doc?  Is that normal?  Or are there signs that you are sick?”  Tommy was so enthusiastic about having a conversation with the doctor accompanied by Koko Chan who occasionally smiled at Tommy's face.

“It's like that, Mas.  Skin that is separated from the average body is dark.  Not because of disease, but because the skin is separated from the body means it is not connected to the bloodstream, there is no oxygen and nutrients circulating in between.  The network then becomes dead, so it is dark,” explained the doctor.

“Oh, so it seems.  Then, the dead tissue part will be applied, doc?  Disposed of just like that, or is there being ritualized or how?” ask Tommy.  “Depends.  A patient asked for it and took it home.  The ritual business is the business of each person, yes, Mas.  Anyway they've brought home that part,” explained the doctor.

“From ourselves there is no ritual whatsoever.  But if the patient doesn't ask to take him home, that part of the dead tissue we collect.  There's a special place.  There will be officers who will take him, his take every three to five times every week,” explained the doctor.

“Clinic officer, doc?” ask Tommy.  “Not, health workers as well but they are a third party who cooperate with us.  In them, the dead tissues will be destroyed into a special incendiary machine that is only owned and operated by licensees, namely agencies like them,” explained the doctor.

“Oh, like that, yes, doc,” Tommy said with a face that reflected relief.  “So, how about, Mas Tommy?  Is it satisfied with everything that holds up in the heart?” koko Chan said with a smile that mocked Tommy.

“So, the Masnya don't have to worry anymore.  We discussed the technology used as a procedure.  It won't hurt, Mas,” welcome the doctor who also arched a smile to Tommy.

“God willing, God willing I am getting steady to do it later, doctor.  Hopefully this will be a smooth start to lead me to become a convert,” said Tommy with eyes that lead to the doctor and Koko Chan.  “Masya Allah,” said Koko Chan.  “Aamiin..” said the doctor who said it together with Koko Chan.

After consulting, Tommy and his friend named Koko Chan also left the clinic.  The yellow-skinned and narrow-eyed man really accompanied Tommy to the best of his ability.  He was so patient with Tommy today.
