OBSESSION OF THE HEIR

OBSESSION OF THE HEIR
CHAPTER 16 BARON?

Meyrin who was too focused on her lunch was unaware of a person's presence. Until felt a wet kiss on the cheek of the leader of the Arlington Group.

Meyrin turned her head to the right side and, "Ken? Why here?"

"Same miss boyfriend himself. Can't it?" ask the guy who turned out to be Ken.

"In the company there is no job?" Meyrin looked at Ken who was taking a seat in front of her.

They're facing each other. Lea immediately shifted her seat, then told her subordinates to order a lunch menu for Ken. Before long, the lunch menu for the idol of a million people was already available.

"Thank you" Ken told Meyrin's bodyguard.

"Whose company is handling it?" meyrin asked after she finished her meal.

"I leave it to Alex, it looks like he's got a hidden talent. The job is so perfect for a personal assistant size," Ken replied as he enjoyed his lunch.

"Sister, it looks like I have to leave now. My manager told me to get ready because there's been a change in schedule." Emily showed me her chat with the manager.

"Be careful and stop acting stupid. Stay under the supervision of the bodyguard brother. Understood?" Meyrin stared intently at Emily, who was answered only by the scratch of her head and Emily's distinctive grin.

****************

After lunch, Meyrin takes Ken to her room. But, suddenly Lea reminded the schedule of the miss to visit the hospital.

"Let me deliver. Enough the three of us don't need any more bodyguards" Ken bargained.

"No Ken, we need a bodyguard."

"Everything's fine, Mey. Me and Lea are enough to protect you."

"No Ken, I'm ti—"

"Hey .. hey .. get out of your guilt. No need to be too vigilant. Everything's gonna be okay."

"You don't understand. Dad is old, Emily is doing well. Who else will take care of them, besides me? I can't let my guard down if I want to protect them." Meyrin stared at Ken's black bead.

"There's me going to look after the Arlington family, look after the three of you. Lean on me, trust me, Sweetie, "pinta Ken.

"I'm sorry, I can't Ken. I don't want to risk anyone's life. Right now I want to stand on my own two feet. Two years ago became my dark time. Just two years ago I lost Bella's mother to me."

Ken was speechless, not daring to force any further. The man was very well aware of what a Princess Indria Larasati was like two years ago. The heart, soul and body of a Baras were at stake.

Meyrin, Ken and Lea arrive at the company lobby, at the doorstep of Ken's sports car. Several bodyguards walked behind the three of them.

"Enough to get here. I'll go with them both. Stay alert and report anything suspicious to me or Lea" Meyrin said, leaving Ken and Lea staring in disbelief.

"Good, Miss."

"Seriously so?" ken asked still did not believe in his sense of hearing.

"Let's go before I change my mind!" meyrin decides to follow Ken's advice.

Meyrin immediately got into the car that had opened the door, as usual she would sit in front. A security guard then closed the door on Meyrin's side. Followed by Lea who was in the back seat alone.

Ken smiled as a Meyrin listened to his request. He then walked in and sat in the steering wheel, preparing to head to the hospital.

****************

Arriving at the hospital guided by Lea, they headed straight to one of the inpatient rooms. At the end of the hall, two bodyguards stood in front of a door. Meyrin, Ken and Lea walked towards the room.

Seeing his boss coming along with the big boss, they immediately lowered their bodies. Ken clasped Meyrin's hand and the woman didn't turn him down. They are in public, public places are afraid of paparazzi and make slanted news about their relationship.

"How is he doing?" ask Lea.

"Everything is safe and the condition is gradually improving" replied one of the bodyguards still with his head bowed even though he did not bend again.

"Let's Miss!" Lea opened the door of the room, letting Meyrin and Ken enter first before she caught up.

"Boss!" greet the only person in the room.

A man was lying on his stomach wrapped in a white bandage. The man tried to sit up but was held back by Lea so that the stitches from the surgery did not open.

"Lay away," ordered Laras gently.

"Thank you, Boss."

"If we're not on a mission, call Miss just like everyone else."

"How are you doing?" meyrin asked as she sat on the only seat beside the bed.

"It's improving. You can just go home, miss."

"Just go to the core, what do you want to talk to me about?" Meyrin changed the tone a little more firmly.

Ken and Lea stood on each side of Meyrin. Listen to what the man wants to discuss with a Meyrin.

"It happened five days ago, when I was standing guard in the basement in the dark. I saw the silhouette of someone also lurking on the other side. But, it seems like that person was aware of my position so he just left without leaving a trace," Meyrin's subordinate told.

"Then?" ask Meyrin.

"I did not dare to report because there was no concrete evidence. He hid and lurked in a place spared from CCTV."

"Wait on! Do you think that person knows the exact location of the CCTV in the basement?" Ken chimed in.

"Yes, Sir. I also feel the same way, but I dare not because of the lack of evidence."

Meyrin's frown furrowed, assorted assumptions swirled in her brain. The woman turned her head to Ken who answered a nod of the head.

"Continue!" meyrin's orders.

"Yesterday when I returned to duty in the dark, the silhouette of the person was again visible. I immediately attacked the man, locking up all his movements. But, suddenly a bullet from the opposite direction hit me. The person who fought me made a voice to curse. I recognized the voice of the man, but did not know who and who was clearly among us," clearly at length the man with a stern look, did not imply any lies at all.

"Here, Miss."

Lea handed over the tab that was playing the video of CCTV footage in the basement. Everything his subordinates said was true. Someone from the opposite direction was pointing a gun right at his men.

Ken took the tab that Meyrin was holding. He stopped the video. The frown on Ken's forehead was very clear. The man zoomed in on the part of the person who shot earlier. Then, slightly shifted it towards Meyrin's men with the figure of a mysterious person.

"Ken, are we thinking?" asked Meyrin who was still focused on staring at the image on the tab.

"See from this picture, it seems so."

"But what is the motive of this man?" Meyrin shifted to the picture that was with her subordinates.

"Attent, Miss. Could you please slide it to the person who shot earlier?" pinta Lea realized something.

"This?"

"Ah right! I recognize this man from his body's gesture."

"Who?" ask Meyrin and Ken at the same time.

"We used to be in the same academy and the same teacher. He's Baron the sniper."

"Baron Steve's right hand?" Ken made sure not to get the wrong target.

"Yes, Sir."

"You offended that old stud Steve?" it was Meyrin's turn that Ken asked.

"It's not me, it's William." Meyrin turned her eyes away from Ken's gaze.

If Ken is already in his cyber mode, Meyrin is speechless. One thing is for sure, the woman has to tell the truth.

"Why could William be wrong but you bear it?" suspicious Ken.

"...." - ".Meyrin silent a thousand languages.

"Larasati Indria Putri!" Ken looked at the bowed Meyrin.

"Actually …." Meyrin hung up her sentence.
