Everyone looked fresh and fit. There was no sign they were dead people. When the sun appears they change again like normal humans in general. Even Riri who saw his parents back to how they were, was astonished and confused. He thought what he saw last night was a dream. As a result, Riri ventured to see his parents again.
"Mom, are you all right?" riri asked while looking at her mother's face.
the middle-aged woman watched her daughter, then smiled as she rubbed Riri's head. " Riri Why? How do you ask like that?"
" Riri had a nightmare last night, Mom."
"Oh yeah? What dream, honey? Try Mom's story." Riri's mother's attitude still looked the same as usual. Even now he pulled the body of his little daughter and put Riri in his lap.
"Riri dream. Mom and everyone else died. But thankfully it was all a dream, yes, Mom. The proof is that my father and mother are still here with Riri."
The Mother simply smiled, ******* her breath was heard from Riri's ear Even though she didn't see it. His mother's hand held his little daughter's hand.
"Yes, it's just a dream."
But Riri suddenly glared. When he saw that there was a bloodstain on his mother's palm. Accompanied by mud scars. Riri remembers how her parents were back after gathering with other people she thought were in her dreams.
Suddenly, Riri realized that it was not a dream. It was just that he was still silent while looking for other evidence that corroborated his conjecture.
Riri's parents work in the fields. After cleaning the house they will both go to the fields near the forest. Riri was always left alone at home. Usually he will participate in teaching and learning activities given by one of the villagers. Although only learning to read and write, this activity is in great demand for small children in his village.
There are about 10 children of his age. Before leaving for the study, Riri decided to take a bath first. He was still thinking about the bloodstains on his mother's palm. Riri began to doubt. Until finally he found clothes belonging to his father and mother that were filled with blood stains and torn in some parts. Seeing this, Riri became more convinced that what he saw last night was real. Now he is confused about what to do. Especially when she saw that her parents were fine now.
"Relie!" the call from outside the house that disperse Riri Daydream.
Sita called herself and now was waiting in the courtyard of the house. Riri rushed over to immediately prepare towards where they usually studied all along. After finishing her bath, she met Shita in front of the house. Riri watched Sita closely. When the incident last night he did not see Sita in Barisan people who gathered on the street in front of his house. Even he only realized that there was no child the same age as him was there last night. Especially when standing did not see any blood stains or even the slightest injury to Sita's body. It's just that he's staying alert. They both headed to their study. Until in front of it all his friends had gathered the most surprising was the existence of Jaka who was among them. Riri looked at Jaka with fear. Not as usual.
Apparently today is Jaka's allotment to teach the children. Riri's fear is trying to hide it. Do not let Jaka know and feel what Riri thinks. During the teaching lesson, Riri did not focus on what was being taught. He focused on watching the people around him. His friends don't look strange. It is precisely Jaka's gelagat that looks suspicious. He continued to suppress one of his students, as the understanding of what was being taught was lacking. The boy was named Ridho. Ridho is notoriously less clever. He hasn't even read and written well.
"Yes already. You will come to my house. Let me teach you another lesson today at home huh."
Hearing the former from his teacher Rido just nodded resignedly. The activity was also over lunch time. They all went home except Ridho. Riri and Sita return home together. But before they get home, they stop by the shop first to buy food.
"My mom didn't cook today. So strange. Usually always diligent," said Sita. What Sita experienced was the same as what Riri experienced. His mother also did not have time to cook lunch. Even breakfast this morning was bland.
"Yes already. We'll buy some rujak at Bu Mawar's shop."
Warung Bu Roses is a one-stop Warung. Not only is it basic, but it also sells cooked food. One of them is rujak or gado-gado. Gado-gado and rujak made by Bu rose is famous for being delicious.
They ordered the food and decided to eat it on the spot.
"Ri, I had a nightmare last night" said Sita and immediately made Riri surprised.
"What dream??!"
"I dreamed everyone was killed the same Mr. Jaka. Haha. But thankfully it was just a dream."
Riri is increasingly convinced that it turns out Sita was not in the slaughter ceremony last night.
"That means Sita is really still human," Riri's inner heart.
" Sita, I actually experienced the same thing. At first I thought it was a dream, but it seemed like it was reality."
"What do you mean, Ri?" ask Sita.
"The dream you are talking about. I experienced it too. But it wasn't a dream! It's reality. Try later you notice at home, are your parents strange? I'm sure there must be one that's unusual."
Sita was silent, trying to digest what was conveyed by Riri. The daydream was dissolved when the hodgepodge of their order was completed.
"You drink what a beautiful child," said Mrs Rose kindly.
"Es tea only, ma'am," said Sita spirit. She was starving because she had not had breakfast since morning.
"I'm ready soon, yeah. Just a minute." Bu Roses immediately returned to the storefront inside and made a drink of their order both.
Sita, who was impatient, ate the dish in front of her, no longer remembered to recite the prayer. He immediately chewed the gado gado voraciously. In contrast to Riri who felt strange about the state of their village. He just played a spoon and randomized his gado gado. But he was immediately stunned when he saw a small animal hiding behind boiled vegetables on the plate. Riri watched carefully, she hoped to see wrong. But when he checked more thoroughly, it seemed that what he saw was indeed what he thought.
"Geez!" the screech immediately stood up and moved away. Sita who saw the reaction of her friend just stared confusedly, still while chewing the food in her mouth.
"Why?" ask Sita who has a bit of trouble speaking.
"Sit! Lepehin!" riri said while whispering.
Riri approached back, but looked up before telling her what she meant.
"Don't eat! Gado gadoo there's maggots!" riri whispered with fear. He hoped that his sentence was not heard by the shop owner.
"Huh? Any time?" ask Sita and check her food. He just flipped over once and immediately found a small animal that was now wriggling on the seasoning that was watering the boiled vegetables. Sita immediately vomited because she felt disgusted.
"Loh why? Are you sick, Sita?" mama asked the Roses that arrived were already near them.
Sita and Riri were a little hesitant at that question. They both did not answer. Madam Rose then put two large glasses of sweet iced tea in front of them. "Yes have a drink first," he said again.
Fortunately Miss Roses came back in soon, because there were other buyers. Sita was carrying her iced tea. But immediately Riri held Sita's hand and told Sita to look into the tea glass. The two of them stared at each other with both eyes glaring.
"Just go home, Ri," asked Sita.
"Come on!"
The two of them finally left the shop after leaving the 10,000s. Though the hodgepodge is not eaten. And also with the iced tea. Who would want to eat such rotten food.
All the way home Sinta continued to babble nonstop. He did not think about what they had just experienced.
"That's, Sit! I told you earlier, if what we're going through is not a dream! That is indeed reality. All the villagers here have been killed by Mr. Jaka. He is also the one who made our parents and other citizens come back to life.
"So who do we live with, Ri? If our parents are dead? They are living as usual!"
"No! There must be something strange. I found that in my mother too. I'm sure you'll find that in your parents later, too."
They were both silent, busy with their own thoughts. However, at least both Riri and Sita are not alone in the village. They are not the only people living in this place.
"Honestly I'm scared, Ri."
" i am the same. I was thinking, I'm the only one who's still human in our village."
" What are your plans?"
" I don't know yet either, Sit. Let's see what the development will be like tonight."
"okay."
They both decided to go home. Soon the day will be late afternoon. The old men who work in the fields will surely come home. Same with Riri's parents. When he arrived at the house Riri just remained silent in the room. He doesn't know what to do.
Until finally his parents came home. Everything went as usual. Until when Riri was about to sleep, he also said goodbye to his parents who were in the living room with their respective busyness. Nothing suspicious so far. If Riri was sure that his parents were no longer parents that he had known.
Because Riri was tired of falling asleep. In her deep sleep, she heard a noise outside the room. Riri soon wakes up and finds out what really happened. He peeked out from behind the window, and finally found a sight he had previously seen. This time his friends were drenched in blood and just put in the middle of the road. Even Riri saw Sita who was being carried on her father's shoulder. It's just that his condition isn't okay. There is fluid flowing from the body part of Sita. If Riri can't see it clearly, but he's sure that it's the blood of his best friend.
Riri sees Jaka talking to his parents. Suddenly the three of them immediately turned to look towards Riri's house. Riri's father nodded after getting instructions from Jaka. He then walked back home. Seeing that, Riri started to get scared. Without a second thought he immediately walked out of his room, the road leading to the kitchen. There Riri opened the back door of the house, and ran as fast as possible to leave his house and village. Riri doesn't know where to go. He was exhausted after running for a long time.
Riri is now in a forest a little far from her village. Fortunately since childhood, Riri was often in this forest with his father to find firewood. Riri hopes that those people don't find her. He no longer wanted to go back to the village. He no longer wants to see his parents. Everyone has changed. Become a monstrous creature that will change its form at midnight. Since then, he has lived in the forest. He occasionally returned to the village to see what was happening in the place as well as taking some of his belongings. He certainly needs clothes, blankets and equipment to be able to make a shelter. Eventually he managed to create a small house that only fit for himself. He was also able to survive in the forest with potluck food. Fortunately he managed to find a fruit tree that grew around. Sometimes he also found like a chicken that can still be found in the place.
"Thus ... Your parents are like them too? But ... Brother, don't you see them? You said your house was green paint, right?" rea asked while pointing at Riri's house.
"Yes, Brother. My parents fell into the abyss, so they won't come back here."
"Then ... Jack! Where is he?"
"Pak Jaka left a few months ago. But he never came here again, for what."
"When did he come here?"
"A few days ago, Brother. It's just that his face looks younger," said Riri.
"younger? What do not do Jaka it is one form of the collision for longevity suppose?"
"It could be tuh! If it arrives the name Jaka can turn young. Gile, look like a vampire!"
"May that Jaka not come here now!"
"Hey ... People want to do what" whispered Hana as she peeked at the window.
Automatically they all come in unison close to the window. They were curious about what Hana was seeing. Especially after hearing the story of Riri just now, making them more anxious about their current condition.
