Chapter 89: Seraphina

On a clear morning, a glimmer of hope for Devan and Sena, they prepared some files to take to the orphanage. Adopting children is not as easy as imagined, they have to go through several stages, especially in the management of important letters. Devan was still texting someone in the car, while Sena who was next to him felt very pampered. He peeked as much as he could but unfortunately Devan immediately found out.

"What's? I'm texting your ex-husband" Devan said.

"What else would you like to contact him?"

"Repo.."

Sena snorted in annoyance, she turned her face away then as if angry at Devan. Devan smiled, his hand pinched Sena's cheek.

"Don't get mad! Me and Regan have business."

Sena remained silent in her place, she did not care what her husband said. Devan who saw him felt very amused, he knew that Sena was still very traumatized by Regan. Devan quickly kept his phone, he pulled Sena's body to get close to him, when Sena was already next to him, the woman turned her head and after that Devan kissed her lips with a glance.

Sena was so shocked, she looked at Devan's very handsome face. Who wouldn't be attracted to him? At the age of 37 years, he is getting more mature and challenging. His skin is white and his nose is stunning anyone.

Sena turned her face away, she smiled to herself and her heart was racing. They've been married for a year but it feels like they were just dating yesterday. Arriving at the orphanage, the children immediately ran to their car. Sena got out of the car with a lot of food. The kids were so happy. Devan went inside, the mother of the orphanage immediately invited Devan to meet with Serafina. The beautiful toddler smiled sweetly at her as if knowing if it was her parents-to-be.

"Sera, miss us?" devan asked as he extended his hand. "You want a sling?"

The toddler also reached out her two tiny hands, Devan quickly carried her carefully. All this made him very happy, he could carry his daughter.

"Mother, all our files are in that bag."

"Good, Devan. May Serafina be the lamp of your life. You can change the name if you want to."

Devan shook his head. "No, Ma. Surely Sera's parents named it no special reason and meaning. I don't want to change it."

Devan took the toddler out, Sena who was dividing food immediately shed tears as the tiny toddler stared softly with her blue eyes. Sena approached him, she kissed Serafina.

"Mas, Sera is so funny."

"Yes, she's adorable like you."

The other children were immediately sad when they wanted to be adopted by Devan and Sena. They bowed their heads making Devan immediately notice them.

"What's wrong? Why sad? Sorry, Om did not have time to buy a toy," Devan said as he held Serafina.

Sena and Devan looked at each other, he became uneasy with them. Sena and Devan should have brought Serafina not before them. Sena crouched down in front of the children,

"Why sad? We also consider you our children proof that we always come here to bring you new food and toys."

The mother of the orphanage immediately brought them in, every one of them adopted one of them then they would be envious. Naturally, they also want to be adopted and get affection like the others.

"When you can play and stay at our house" said Devan.

Devan kissed the cheek of the baby bule, Serafina seems very happy to ride a car. His round eyes looked outwards.

Regan was checking her student duties via email, she was hitching a ride on wifi at the cafe while having coffee and some snacks. His handsome face became the center of attention. A woman outside kept watching him. She misses Regan, the man who loved her even though she was only a second wife. Who else if not Maya? Regan stares at the window and sees Maya looking at him. Maya was very surprised, she tried to run but unfortunately she stumbled and fell. Regan who was shocked quickly approached and helped him stand up.

"Maya, are you okay?" ask Regan.

"You recognize me?"

Regan helped her to stand up, she also picked up the bag lying on the ground. "Your face hasn't changed once."

Maya looks down embarrassed, for her she is not as beautiful as Sena and as lucky as Sena who gets a rich new husband. Maya's life was only at the mercy of those around her.

"Regan, how are you?" ask Maya.

"Good news. Where's son?"

Maya speechless. "Isn't that your son too even you used to keep this kid instead of Sena?"

Regan snorted in annoyance, again what was talked about was the past that made him the worst man. Regan walks into the cafe and takes care of all her things. Maya follows.

Regan let out a long sigh, not wanting to repeat the same story as Maya or Sena.

Regan came out with her bag, Maya is certainly very sad about this. She is rejected outright by Regan, the man who used to love her so much.
