CHAPTER 400 | Kingdom of Dao
The palace gatekeeper who was also a woman immediately opened the door when she saw their daughter's carriage coming with her guards. But they were stunned when they saw Shen Long among the female bodyguards.
They did not dare to stop Shen Long because Dao Lin's daughter had waved her hand so as not to obstruct his arrival.
Then after entering the palace gate, Shen Long narrowed his eyes as everyone he met inside the palace was female. No men were seen in the palace.
“Where are the men in this palace?” shen Long muttered in his heart.
And when they arrived in front of the very luxurious tall building that was the main residence of the palace, the carriage came to a stop.
Dao Lin's daughter got off the train and was followed by two of her bodyguards, Shen Long and NingYue, along with the other guards. Shen Long immediately approached NingYue. “Miss Ning, I did not see a man in this palace. What say?” whispered.
NingYue had not expected that at first, but when Shen Long mentioned it she also felt a little strange. However since they came invited by Dao's daughter, then he didn't want to let her down.
“Mr Shen, we're invited to meet. We'd better follow him first.” NingYue said slowly. Shen Long nodded softly at NingYue's words, yet his self was the most wary as each passing by the women in the palace, they all smiled strangely at him.
Princess Dao took NingYue and Shen Long straight to the dining room located beside the Dao royal hall.
In the dining room there is a long dining table with several chairs located there. At the end there is a large and quite luxurious seat which is of course the seat belonging to the Queen of the Dao kingdom.
Princess Dao was in the third seat to the right of Queen Dao's seat which signified her lower tier two levels away from her two older brothers.
After they entered that dining room, the palace family then also came one by one entering the dining room and stood in front of their seats before sitting down. They await the Queen's arrival to dine together.
A moment later a middle-aged woman with a pretty face came along with her two eldest daughters and her second daughter. The three women were no less beautiful than princess Dao, and almost all the women in the dining room looked beautiful.

NingYue also felt the awkwardness of Shen Long who was among the women in the room. However in order to appreciate Dao's daughter inviting him, NingYue could only stroke her chest.
“Please enjoy our dishes!” the Queen of Dao invited NingYue and Shen Long to eat with them.
“We have heard of your arrival. So sorry if this dish is not enough to satisfy both of you.” continued Ratu Dao with a smile.
“Can we know the names of you two?”
Shen Long mentioned his name as well as NingYue while saluting the Dao Queen.
“Ah, miss Ning and master Shen, please dine!” queen Dao said to invite them.
NingYue stomped on Shen Long's feet and almost made him shout in surprise, but of course it didn't make Shen Long in pain. Shen Long looked towards NingYue who was wrinkling her face.
Shen Long tried to calm himself, it was not easy to control himself in front of many beautiful women. Moreover, he had long since gone far away from his wives.
“Nona Ning, are you a married couple?” ask Queen Dao.
“Ti-“ Shen Long suddenly glared before finishing his answer.
“True Her Majesty the Queen, I'm sorry, this is my shy husband Shen Long,” NingYue said as she embraced Shen Long's arms and spread her head closer to Shen Long's face with a smile.
Although Shen Long did not know the intent of NingYue, yet the stomping of his feet had returned to make him quiet and let NingYue answer their questions.
The entire person inside the dining room was sighing after hearing NingYue's reply. They continued eating with disappointed faces.
“Oh, how long have you been married?” The queen asked again, but the look on the queen's face could not hide her disappointment when she heard that Shen Long was NingYue's husband.
“We just got married a few months ago Your Majesty, so it's still warm.” NingYue said that almost made Shen Long spit out his food back.
Shen Long's eyes twitched hearing NingYue's words which answered smoothly every question of the Dao Queen. And with every answer, NingYue seemed to enjoy the charade and lies by playing the wife dear to her husband Shen Long.
Finally the meal was over and some of them returned to their respective rooms in the vast Dao royal palace. Queen Dao had also prepared a room for NingYue and Shen Long to spend the night. Since NingYue said they were husband and wife, then Queen Dao had only prepared one room for them to rest.
Princess Dao Lin was asked to escort the couple towards their room to rest. “Nona Ning, please rest. If there is something you want, you can call the palace maid to help her.”
“Thank you daughter Dao,” said NingYue while giving her respect.
Princess Dao then went to waltz from the place and NingYue and Shen Long walked into their room.
Inside the room, Shen Long was about to speak but NingYue's index finger had already covered her mouth while shaking her head.
Shen Long's face turned wrinkled not understanding NingYue's intentions. Then NingYue took the paper on the table in the room and wrote down the words on it. “Be careful, they might listen to our voice.”
Then NingYue again picked up the paper and wrote down a few more words.
“We must remain as husband and wife if you do not want to be a struggle for them. Do you want to have fun with them?”
This time NingYue's face looked displeased when she finished writing the last sentence. Shen Long's face was stunned reading NingYue's writing, then he shook his head.
Shen Long took the paper and wrote. “We're not here for fun. We should immediately find a place for me to absorb light energy.”
NingYue's face finally returned to normal and rewrote. “We see the situation first, if there is a chance we can go from this place.”
