CHAPTER 9 | Death Gorge
The bottom of the Deathly Gorge was so dark, Shen Long needed a long time to adjust his vision, yet still could not see his surroundings.
“How to find Mushroom in this darkness?” shen Long said
According to the information he obtained, the rainbow mushroom would shine in the darkness of the Deathly Gorge with its colorful light.
Then Shen walked slowly while fumbling for the light he might find at the bottom of the abyss.
Suddenly he listened to a voice “Come nak”
“Who is” says Shen Long.
Shen tried to find the source of the sound, then suddenly he saw a dim light at the end of the road through which he passed.
“Could it be rainbow mushroom?” he thought as he walked slowly closer to that light source.
Suddenly his surroundings became bright by some spirits that had sprung up. The shadow of this spirit gives off a dim light in the form of soldiers, students, parents, women, children, animals and even other supernatural beings.
Shen Long was trembling with the sudden appearance of so many spirits around him. Because of their light, Shen Long could see at the bottom of the abyss that was filled with many bones and skulls of humans as well as beast tamers.
“This may be the spirits of those who have been killed in this abyss of death. I will probably be one of them later” Shen Long thought resignedly.
“Come son. Don't be afraid” the voice reappears from the front.
“Who's there?” shen Long asked without reply
Then Shen Long walked slowly forward, but suddenly the spirit that had sprung up attacked him and entered Shen Long's body. As soon as those spirits entered Shen Long's body, he felt an incredible chill inside his body, then an overwhelming heat as if it were being burned by the flames of hell.
Shen Long rolled around in great pain, then he was unconscious.
I don't know how long he was unconscious, then slowly he opened his eyes, his stomach was hungry and thirsty. His eyes looked around him looking for something he could eat or water to drink.
“Oh, you finally regained consciousness. You can eat the fruit on the cliff to the left” said the voice back
“Who are you?” shen Long asked as he looked to the left. He saw that there were fruits embedded in the cliff wall. Surprisingly the fruits emitted a light that was also dim.
“Come here, I'll tell you” said the voice
Shen Long approached the fruit then plucked one for him to eat.
“Why do you only take one piece?” ask that voice
“I just want to eat one enough. I don't know when I can get out of this place. So I have to save it for tomorrow” said Shen Long innocently.
“Hahahaha. You are indeed the one who was destined for me” said the voice back
“What do you mean?” ask Shen Long back
“Come. I'll tell you” continued that voice
Shen Long hesitantly walked slowly towards the dim light source in front of him. After a short distance, he saw the source of light coming from a sword stuck in the ground of the ravine.
At a glance Shen Long saw the carving on the blade of the sword that seemed to have been slightly worn out yet not rusted. Suddenly Shen Long was surprised, his eyes saw a faint shadow behind the sword. After his eyes adjusted, he saw a human figure kneeling down with both hands shackled pulled by chains to his right and to his right.
“Do not be afraid. This I” the voice then revealed the form of a man dressed in the general of war glowing brightly enough to shine around him.
“This man has long since died, but his bones have not been crushed despite being wrapped around by those chains” thought Shen Long.
“My name is Yan Luo, This is my spirit bound in this place. I am a god who got the title of Demon God King Luo. I was in conflict with my brother who became the Emperor of the Gods of the heavens, thus being sent to the underworld by him”
“Although I live in the underworld, I often go to the human world to cultivate back in order to break through the level of the God Emperor to avenge my brother”
“I have five disciples in the human world, but eventually those five disciples betrayed me and with the help of the gods they sealed myself in this abyss of death for a thousand years”
“Have you committed a crime?” shen Long asked innocently
“Hahahaha.. What do you call that crime?” asked Yan Luo's spirit.
“Something that harms others” Shen Long said.
“If it's a crime, then the Celestial God Emperor also committed a crime for harming me by sending me to the underworld” Yan Luo's spirit said.
“Then what caused you to be sealed here?” ask Shen Long next.
“Because of my cruel nature and method. I hate people who break principles. And I never hesitate to punish others who violate the principles I believe”
“It is because of my cruelty that the Gods are afraid of me. Hahahaha.. “ Yan Luo said with a laugh.
“Alright, please help me to get out of this place.” Shen Long said
“I can help you get out of this place. But you have to help me do something first” Yan Luo said
“What can I help you with?” ask Shen Long
“Take off this shackle so I can restore my strength. Then take me with you out of this place” Yan Luo said
Hearing that, Shen Long's heart became slightly doubtful. Yan Luo was shackled here naturally due to having mistakes in her past. And Shen Long did not dare to open those shackles for fear of causing bad things to happen to the world.
“Do you have any doubts?” asked Yan Luo
“Iya. I hesitate to open your shackles.” Shen Long said bluntly
“Hahahaha..I like you young man. You're an honest person and speak directly without further ado. Fits my principles all along” Yan Luo said back
“Only by removing my shackles can I help you to get out of this place” he continued.
Shen Long thought over and over again the possibility that would happen if he released the shackles of Yan Luo. Yet only one of them was the reason if he did not let go, he could not get out of this place.
“Alright, I'll let go of your shackles. How do I release it?” shen Long asked.
“If you are the one who is destined to take off this shackle of mine. You'll be able to pull out the sword in front of me. It is my sword that guards my body and spirit here”
“Use that sword to break these chains that shackle my body.” Yan Luo explained
“Then what will happen?” shen Long asked back.
“My spirit will be freed by you and my body will return to dust” said Yan Luo.
“Alright” Shen Long said as he stepped slowly towards the sword preparing to pull it out.
