That night, Zoya can't sleep. Many times the girl tried to close her eyes but could not. He looked at the ceiling of his room, then sighed softly. Zoya rolled over to the edge of the bed, then stood up. To calm his mind, he decided to go outside the house and sit on the terrace while filling his lungs with fresh air.
He leaned his head on the arm of the chair while thinking about his fate. Marriage is something that every person on this earth dreams of. But, what if you have to marry someone she does not love and does not love? Will the wedding still be a dream for Zoya?
Zoya let out a long breath. If there was someone Zoya had to marry right now, Zoya would have chosen to marry Damar. Damar was the man who filled his heart and mind all along. Zoya wouldn't think twice if she was asked to marry Damar.
“Do I really have to marry William?” mummified Zoya lirih.
William and Damar are two polar opposites. Damar is a warm person and can make Zoya feel comfortable. While William ... That guy was a nightmare for Zoya. A temperamental man who only puts forward his own ego and anger.
Without Zoya realizing it, there was someone who had seen her daydreaming on the porch of the house. He's wrong Damar. Damar deliberately wanted to visit Zoya, but he even found Zoya's condition like this. He is confused because he sees Zoya looking weak and lethargic.
Zoya raised her head along with hearing the sound of feet approaching. Zoya is surprised to see Damar already standing in front of her.
“Mas Damar, please sit down, Mas,” Zoya said, smiling weakly.
Instead of sitting down, Damar opened his voice to ask. “Why are you, Zoya? From earlier I noticed you daydreaming,” asked Damar while tilting his head.
Zoya shook her head weakly, then stood up and scattered into Damar's arms. He hugged the man warmly, as if it were a sign of farewell to both of them.
Zoya is eager to tell Damar everything, but he still hesitates because he himself still does not believe what happened. However, willing as hard as Zoya avoids fate, she has to face it so she decides to tell Damar everything.
Zoya let go of Damar's embrace, then looked at the man with a glare. Zoya bites her lower lip. He couldn't possibly say everything while looking straight into Damar's eyes. Zoya turned her gaze before she started telling stories.
“I will soon be married, Mas,” said Zoya, reluctant to look at Damar.
The deg!
Hearing that, Damar's heart felt like it was being stabbed by a blunt object. The man widened his eyes, surprised by Zoya's sudden statement. There was no rain, no wind, but the storm seemed to come to ravage the feeling of Damar.
“We sit down first, Mas. I will tell you everything,” Zoya said. Zoya and Damar sat down. Zoya took a deep breath.
“I was betrothed to Liam, the son of my adoptive parents. Liam is currently paralyzed and depressed. They want me to marry Liam,” explains Zoya. “I initially refused. I asked them to ask Liam if he agreed or not because I thought he wouldn't agree. But it turns out Liam's parents said that Liam agreed.”
Damar took Zoya's hand, then clasped her tightly. Zoya turned her head, asking why Damar was holding her hand.
“Zoya, don't ever get married because you're forced to. You always say that marriage is sacred to you. If you had to, wouldn't that make the meaning of a marriage fade?” ask Damar.
“I have no choice, Mas. I owe it to Liam's parents. If there were none, I might not be able to live as properly as I am today. I have to marry Liam. It's the only way to repay their kindness,” Zoya said.
Although Zoya agrees with Damar about not getting married because she has to, Zoya has no other choice. Marrying William is probably something Zoya never imagined before. But, it was something that Zoya had to do. And even the words of the man she loved once could not change her decision to marry William.
Damar closed his eyes, feeling a pain that slowly sliced through his heart. The man felt sad but also resigned because he could not do anything to prevent this. She can only support Zoya even though her heart is crying.
Damar standing. “Then, congratulations, Zoya. I'm so glad you're finally getting married,” she said with a faint smile. Damar took a deep breath, trying not to show his disappointment to Zoya. “I go home first, Zoya,”.
Zoya stands up, and drives Damar to the front of her car. Zoya realizes Damar's feelings for her. The feeling of love that Zoya and Damar have is never wrong. Their love comes to the right person, but not at the right time. And because of that, they had to let go of each other.
“Mas, I ask you not to hate me even though I know it is not easy,” Zoya said, staring at Damar expectantly. “And sorry I've made you hurt.”
Damar who was about to get into the car again approached Zoya and pulled the girl's body into her arms. He closed his eyes, enjoying Zoya's warm embrace. Damar enjoys every passing second of the moment, trying to save Zoya into the most beautiful memory of his life.
If Damar could, he would have stopped the time so Zoya could stay in her arms. But no, Damar can't do it. This embrace is a sign of separation, because soon Zoya will be owned by someone else.
“I won't hate you, Zoya,” whispered Damar sounding sincere.
