The Pledge of the Ingkar

The Pledge of the Ingkar
IYI 47'S

Time keeps passing. Days changed by week. Week changing month. Spending time together inside the house unknowingly makes William more and more accustomed to the presence of Zoya by his side. He no longer even let Zoya sleep on the sofa, but instead told Zoya to sleep in the bed with him even though he often had to hold back so that his weapon would not react.

Not only do they sleep together, they also do everything together such as eating together, gardening together, and also doing therapy together. William even sometimes accompanies Zoya cooking while chattering and joking. Unknowingly, their relationship is increasingly tied even though they both build a high wall in each other's hearts.

Like that day, when William came out of the study after finishing his work, he accidentally saw Zoya wiping the sweat while mopping the floor. Whether it gets a boost from where, suddenly William felt sorry for the girl. William approached Zoya and said something that surprised Zoya.

“Zoya, sit down first. Rest,” said William softly.

Zoya thinks that William wants to talk about something important so she nods and sits on the sofa opposite William. “What's up, Mas? Is there anything you want to talk about?” tanyakanya.

“I'll find a waiter so you don't have to do heavy housework,” William said.

Zoya gasps. The girl was surprised because William suddenly changed his mind and wanted to hire a servant even though from the beginning William always said that doing homework was Zoya's responsibility as a wife.

“Why did you suddenly change your mind, Mas?” ask Zoya in confusion.

The girl was too used to William's rude attitude to the point that she was astonished whenever William started being friendly to her. I don't know, it just feels weird.

But on the other hand, she also felt happy because slowly William began to be kind to her. William has never treated Zoya. She even always talks to Zoya in a tone that is arguably softer than usual. Although sometimes still like to be angry, but at least not as bad as before.

“I want you to focus more on taking care of me,” replied William, lying. Lying if he reasoned like that when in reality he could not bear to let Zoya do the housework.

Zoya chuckles at William's reasoning. “Mas, it's okay. I do homework because I know that this is all my duty as a wife,” she said.

William's heart warmed to Zoya's words. That means Zoya is very sincere about doing all this. Where was William's mind all this time? Why can't she feel Zoya's sincerity?

“Alright, but if you are tired, you should not be too pushy to do homework,” William said.

Zoya smiled as she nodded. “Iya, Mas,” answered. He glanced at the wall clock, it was now half five in the afternoon. “Are you hungry, Mas?” tanyakanya.

William smiled at the horse, showed his neat rows of teeth, then nodded slowly. “Yes, my stomach has been rumbling,” he answered honestly while patting his stomach.

Zoya laughed and stood up. “OK, I'll cook you dinner. What do you want to eat tonight?” ask Zoya.

“Anything is up to you that matters I am full,” replied William. He is no longer choosy about food because he wants any type of cuisine as long as Zoya cooks it will taste delicious to him.

Zoya rushes to the kitchen unaware that William is following her from behind. Soon Zoya takes some groceries from the refrigerator and mix them. Today Zoya will cook the teriyaki salmon. Something simple but appetizing.

While Zoya prepares her cooking ingredients, William secretly watches Zoya with a smile. Somehow the man feels happy every time he sees Zoya cooking. There is a special attraction that Zoya emits whenever she is preoccupied with kitchen utensils and food ingredients.

When she finished taking a bath, Zoya did not see William in the room. Zoya goes to the ground floor to find William and finds William on the back porch of the house. Tonight, the star-studded sky makes the atmosphere more and more shahdu.

“Mas, you don't want to rest?” asked Zoya while taking a seat on one of the patio chairs.

“I'm not sleepy yet,” replied William.

Zoya nodded her head. Seeing William getting along with him, Zoya wants to ask him something but he still doubts whether William will be angry or not after hearing his question later.

William glanced at Zoya from the corner of his eye. Finding Zoya playing her fingers while biting her lower lip made William curious about what the girl was thinking.

“You why look so restless, Zoya?” tanyakanya.

“Eh ..” Zoya scratched her nape, confused as to what to say. “Actually I want to ask you something but you have to promise that you won't get angry,” he said in the end.

“What do you want to ask?” asked William while frowning his forehead.

“You must promise not to be angry first,” said Zoya stubbornly.

William chuckles. “Alright I promise I won't get angry,” she replied.

“I want to ask about Renata, Mas. I'm curious because you're so hard to forget about her,” Zoya said, turning her eyes away. He was afraid to see William because he was sure that William would be angry because he was scribbling on William's past.

William took a deep breath as he closed his eyes, recalling the woman he had slowly begun to forget since he had been able to accept Zoya's presence in his life.

“Me and Renata are dating for quite a while, three years to be exact. I used to know him because one of our friends introduced us. Like any other couple, I love my lover very much, ” replied William, making Zoya gasp.

“Then, why did you split up if you love Renata so much, Mas?” zoya asked, biting her lower lip.

“My parents didn't approve of our relationship, Zoya. Especially Mama. My mother did not like Renata. My parents were very rude to Renata and because of that, Renata left,” he said with a wry smile.

William does not know if Renata left because he was offered money by Wulan. The love that William has makes the man blind and unable to see the ugliness of Renata's heart.

“How about you? Have you ever dated?” William asked back.

Zoya shakes. “I've only ever been close to a man named Damar. I think he's a very nice guy. But we never dated,” Zoya replied honestly.

Hearing Zoya's honesty somehow upset William. “Is he just a good guy you think?” tanyanya angry. Unknowingly William was jealous and pushed his wheelchair away.
