The Pledge of the Ingkar

The Pledge of the Ingkar
IYI 50'S

The man pecked at his place, trying to digest the word in the word that came out of Zoya's tiny lips. Zoya's words are like a needle pierced right in the recesses of William's heart, making William forget how to react. What does Zoya mean? Why did he say it was good for both of them? Did the words spoken by William make the girl even less expect a hint of William's feelings?

Intrigued by Zoya's intentions, the man pushes his wheelchair over Zoya. It took a lot of effort for William to catch up with Zoya due to his limitations.

“Zoya, stop!” call him.

Zoya stops her steps when she hears William say. Although her heart still ached from hearing William say about her feelings for Renata, Zoya could do nothing but stop her steps and turn around. He frowned seeing William seem to push his wheelchair quickly to get to him.

“What's up, Mas?” zoya asked, shaking her head. The girl tried to act ordinary, as if she was not holding back the rumble in her heart. “Do you need anything?”

William shook his head quickly. “I don't need anything. But I want to ask you what you meant,” replied William.

“Which one of my words, yes, Mas?” zoya asks, pretending not to understand when she knows what William meant. He pretended he didn't know so he could avoid William's question.

“Do not pretend not to understand. I know you didn't forget what you said,” replied William.

Zoya smiled faintly. The girl tried to reply to William's question calmly. Inevitably Zoya must finally answer William's questions. If Zoya continues to avoid it, William will increasingly terrorize her with various questions about it.

“Mas, I know and am very aware of your feelings for Renata. I know you still love him so much and I will not force you to forget Renata,”.

The girl tried to keep smiling even though in her heart, for some reason she felt as if she was being squeezed. He did not know where the feeling came from, which clearly his heart was sliced when he said it. It was as if he felt hurt when he did not expect William either.

“If you love Renata, then I think there's no harm if I like Damar,” continued, making William look at her with a look in his eyes.

“Zoya, you remember what I said, ‘kan? I don't want to be mocked if people know you're cheating on me,” William grumbled. The man folded his hands in front of his chest, just like a little boy who was upset because he was not obeyed.

Zoya smiled faintly. “You take it easy, Mas. I won't embarrass you.” The girl paused for a moment before continuing her sentence. He shook his head. “I won't cheat on you. My relationship with Damar is just a friend even though we like each other, but we know where the boundaries are,” Zoya explained.

Hearing that Zoya and Damar like each other makes William even more angry. The man swore an oath in his heart because he felt rivaled by Damar. Especially after knowing that Damar is a very successful man.

“I want you to stop communicating with him,” William chirped suddenly, making Zoya gasp and turn her head towards him.

“What do you mean?” ask Zoya. The girl frowned until her forehead formed a stroke.

“I heard what you said, Mas. But, why? Why did you ask me to stop communicating with Damar?” ask Zoya confused. He had no idea what William was thinking and why the man suddenly told him to stop communicating with the man he liked.

“I want you to appreciate me as your husband,” replied William briefly, then turned his gaze the other way.

“Appreciate?” Zoya snorted loudly. “Where did those words go when I first came to this house and saw the photos of your affection and Renata? Or when you talk about Renata in front of me and say that you will always love her forever?” zoya asked with a slightly raised tone of voice.

William turned towards Zoya. He looked at Zoya with a sharp look. “What are you talking about, anyway?” tanyakanya.

“You asked me to stop communicating with Damar to appreciate you. But, you yourself never appreciated my feelings from the beginning of our marriage. Do you think it's all fair to me, Mas?” zoya asked as she shook her head, not believing the words that came out of William's lips.

William clenched his hands tightly. Although what Zoya says is true, the man remains reluctant to admit his guilt. For her, Zoya's feelings of that time don't matter as long as she can make Zoya suffer and regret for marrying her.

“Already, Zoya. Follow my will,” said William.

“You're a really selfish guy, Mas. You asked me to do what you wanted but you never once appreciated me. During the time we were married, did you ever think of me as your wife?” ask Zoya.

William tight-lipped. I don't know what to answer that question with. He himself admitted that his attitude to Zoya had been very cruel even though lately it was no longer because he began to feel comfortable with the presence of Zoya. But at the beginning of their marriage ... William really thinks of Zoya like an object that has no feelings so he hurts the girl mercilessly.

“Au—”

“Better you don't have to interfere in my business, Mas. I also never meddled in your affairs about your feelings for Renata, did I?” Zoya narrowed her eyes. “If you want me to appreciate you, then you must also appreciate me,” said Zoya firmly, cutting William's words.

After saying this, Zoya leaves William's room. That day Zoya chooses to sleep in the room next to William's room. The girl wouldn't sleep in one bed with William if her heart hadn't calmed down at all.

While William is confused because he cannot find Zoya in his room. He searches for Zoya in another room and finds Zoya sleeping there. The man sighed, then closed the room again and returned to his room.

‘Have I been so selfish to you, Zoya?’ ask William in your heart.

That night, William's bed was colder than usual. Although she never sleeps while hugging Zoya or something, she feels more comfortable if Zoya also occupies her bed. Now the bed feels very quiet without the presence of Zoya. William took a deep breath, condemning his mistake which made Zoya very angry with him.
