Chapter 55. Adaire's body

Eugene made clear all his reports. He said that Adaire's body had been found.

Max heard it. He immediately asks Eugene to drive him to the place where Adaire's body was found. But Eugene said that Adaire's body was already in Geraldine's residence, "Your honor, Miss Adaire's body is already in Duke Geraldine's residence,"

"WHAT?"

Damnit damnit! At first I didn't want to let Liliana see her own body. But. ah shit!

Max had wanted to see the body first and would not let Liliana see the body. But the body was already in Geraldine's residence, she could not come there and surprised Liliana that she was the crown prince.

"Your Majesty, what's wrong with you?" eugene asked in astonishment at Max who suddenly looked upset.

"Eugene, you send Pierre there! Tell him to tell Duke Geraldine that he must take Miss Adaire's body to the palace treatment room before cremation! Make a warrant from the crown prince!" said Max ruled.

I have to help Liliana investigate her death. It was the best way to help her get revenge, I didn't want her to get involved with revenge anymore. Lily, let me finish it.

"Okay noble," replied Eugene obediently.

I don't know what his majesty's gonna do with that corpse.

Eugene immediately went to do his duty to meet Pierre. When Max is alone in his room, Laura comes to see his stepbrother. "Why are you here? You know I don't like strangers coming into my room?" Max blocks Laura's way into her room.

"But brother, I'm not a stranger. I'm your sister!" laura said annoyed.

"No," drag Max tightly.

Once again Laura was made sad and upset, her brother always refused to acknowledge her. Just because she was born to Queen Freya, Max's stepmother.

"All right, I'm your ally! The one who's keeping your secret, can't I go inside?" laura asked not to give up.

"No way," replied Max fixed on his stance.

"Why? Can't it just be Miss Lily who goes into this room?" asked Laura grumbled.

"Who is Miss Lily?"

A cold voice and asking who Liliana was, made Laura and Max dumbfounded. Especially after seeing that person walking closer towards the two of them.

"I-mom," said Laura, bowing her head to Queen Freya. Laura looks scared of her mother.

The silver-haired girl greeted her mother while bowing her head.

Max stared intently at his stepmother fearlessly, Queen Freya squeezing the long silk-embroidered skirt tightly. She is infuriated by Max's disrespectful attitude towards her.

If only I could give birth to a son. Surely this damn kid won't be disrespectful to me. He'll be scared.

"Hail the Queen's Majesty" Max said with a cynical smile, without bowing down as Laura did.

"You should follow your noble sister, the crown prince, see how she greets her mother?" satirize queen Freya with a slight smile on her lips.

"Hahaha, didn't I hear wrong? Is Princess Laura greeting her mother? Are you sure your Majesty is the Queen?" Max laughed cynically.

Queen Freya sneered at Max, "What do you mean crown prince?"

"I don't think Princess Laura is greeting her mother, but she's greeting the Queen of this land. Just look at yourself, how did Her Majesty make her body tremble in fear? Her Queen's Charisma was incredible, "Max clapped, he was happy to see Queen Freya cornered and angry.

"A-What? Crown Prince, this attitude of yours is outrageous!" Said Queen Freya emotion.

How dare he mock me!

A lady-in-waiting behind the Queen, finally speak up."Your Highness the crown prince, please take care of your attitude in front of Her Majesty!"

"Shut up! Who are you to interrupt our conversation?" max said, pointing his finger at the lady. "Your status is just a palace lady, how dare you yell at me! Does Her Majesty educate you less? Or is it just education robbing people's husbands that he teaches?"

"PRINCESS CROWN!!" freya shouted furiously and ignited emotions.

Laura was silent, she was not defending her mother at all. Because she knew that her mother was indeed a palace concubine who seduced the King to become Queen in the land.

"Why? Am I wrong, Queen?" Max stared intently at his stepmother.

It must have felt very embarrassed to be humiliated in front of his own subordinates.

"I will give the best ethics teacher in this kingdom to teach you even better ethics, crown prince!" queen Freya said emotion.

"I'm sorry, but I've passed my ethics class. Shouldn't that be for your Majesty? Fix your ethics, too bad you have a dutiful daughter. Don't let her be the third person just like you" she said, stabbing Freya and Laura in the heart.

Freya slapped Max furiously, until Max's bloody cheek was scratched by the queen's long fingernails. "You really, I will not spare you the crown prince" said Freya angrily.

"Mother, mother please.stop all this. Never mind mom," Laura tried to stop the debate before it spread everywhere. "Mom, I want to show you something! Come mother!" Laura tried to take her mother somewhere else.

Eventually his mother's attention is distracted, but he promises to make Max pay for the humiliation he gets. Max just twirled his finger in his ear casually.

"Magic grandmother is so annoying. Rather than me staying here, I'd rather see the prisoner in prison having fun" Max smiled.

"Blackey!"

Max called out to Blackey who was resting on his dagger. Blackey immediately appeared in one call, "Yes your highness?"

"Go and follow Eugene to Duke Geraldine's place, watch the situation there. Don't get seen, you gotta focus on Lily,"

He must have cried seeing his own body. Unfortunately I can't uncover my secrets right now.

"Okay, your honor,"

"Ah yes.and one more. If you see anyone bothering him. You have to teach the people who bother them" Max told Blackey.

"Every noble one," replied Blackey obediently.

Blackey instantly disappeared in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile Max goes to prison to torture Adara.

Adaire's body was covered in white cloth, in the Geraldine family funeral home. Surprisingly, even though the corpse had been floating in the open ocean for several months and lying on the beach. Adaire's body is intact and not rotten.

Everyone who saw the body, talked about the situation. "Miss Adaire is a good lady, maybe it's a miracle from God that the body is not rotting and still fresh" a kitchen maid told her friend.

"Yes you're right, Miss Adaire is actually very kind. He was just a little quiet, he even helped me to treat the wounds when I fell. But I stayed away from him" said another kitchen waiter.

Sure enough, what Max expected. Liliana looked sad, looking at her own corpse before her eyes.

Turns out you're really dead Adaire, you're dead.

The red-haired girl could not help her tears of sadness. Then a pair of hands held her shoulders. "Don't be sad, Adaire won't be happy to see her best friend cry like this" Arsen said as he wiped Liliana's tears away.

She dodged Arsen and looked at him with disdain. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be presumptuous. I just want to cheer you up,"

What's wrong with this woman? He had given me a signal to get close to him. Then why is he avoiding like this? Is he playing for sale?

"It's okay. But Mr Arsen, why do I feel like you're not sad about the passing of your first wife?" liliana asked as she wiped the tears with her own hands.

"Why are you talking like that? Of course I'm sad, my wife was found in this state. Whose heart will not be hurt? Moreover, there was once love between us," said Arsen memelas.

Hmh! He's bragging again! Arsen you are a very bad person. You're worse than Adara

Liliana grew disgusted with the two-faced man in front of her. A man who is good at pretending in front of his father. Arsen's goal was to get into his family, read. He wanted to inherit the Duke's title.

"Oh so, huh? I asked, because I don't see you crying" Liliana said with a faint smile.

"I'm not crying doesn't mean I'm not sad, I just don't want my father-in-law to be sad because I'm crying" Arsen said as he sat closer to Liliana.

If I were in this body and my real body would be gone. Will I remain in this body forever?

The more Liliana cuek on Arsen, the more makes Arsen more interested in Liliana. Moreover, before Liliana had been friendly to Arsen as if flirting with him, Arsen considered Liliana's attitude was expensive selling.

Everyone there came and went to see Adaire. The intact body that will be cremated.

Duke Geraldine still does not believe that his daughter was found in a terrible state. The middle-aged man stood pecking with a blank look, while looking at the passerby paying his last respects to Adaire.

"Liliana, please tell me! If Adaire's still here, will she forgive me?" Duke Geraldine cried, looking at the beautiful girl in front of him.

"Will he forgive all my mistakes that have ignored him all this time? I didn't ignore it because I hated it! It's too late, Adaire hates me until she's gone!" Duke Geraldine cried sobbing, her heart ache seeing Adaire lying stiff lifeless.

Liliana saw regret in her father's eyes, in every word the man said. Liliana held the hand of Duke Geraldine, she wanted to try to calm her father down.

Why is it now dad? Why did you realize it when I was gone?

"He must hate me, right?" duke Geraldine asked Liliana.

"Miss Adaire will definitely forgive who began, Miss Adaire is very good. He never hated the noble Duke" said Daisy who had suddenly been beside Liliana.

"Yes that's right, miss Adaire doesn't hate her majesty. He must have forgiven your majesty" Liliana said.

"I'm sorry? How can he forgive me? He hasn't even heard me say an apology," Duke Geraldine was still in regret.

While in mourning, a letter from Max comes to Duke Geraldine. He immediately read the letter.

Demand for a body check?

Duke Geraldine agreed to a request to examine his daughter's body before cremation. He also wanted to know if his daughter had really died from drowning or because of something else.

Freya and Laura were in the Queen's lounge. The queen looked at her daughter sharply.

"Daughter Laura, sit down!" says firmly.

"Well mother," answered Laura obediently sitting directly in front of her mother.

"Tomorrow, the crown prince of the kingdom of Lostier will come here."

"Would the crown prince come here, mother?" laura asked not to understand.

"Of course to propose to you. So, you're gonna have to dress up pretty tomorrow. Sleep, you must not sleep less" said Queen Freya with a smile.

"Mother, can't I choose my own soul mate?" laura asked her mother.

Freya explains to her son, that she must marry the crown prince of the Lostier kingdom in order for him to become queen. Freya did not allow her son to oppose. She asks Anie, taking Laura back to her room.

Laura looked depressed because her mother only used her as a political tool and did not love her as sincerely as her heart. Laura was crying sadly.

As Laura was walking down the hallway to her palace, she passed Eugene who was about to go to Max's palace. Eugene glanced at Laura at a glance then he lowered his head while saluting.

Why is your princess crying? I wanted to ask you that, but who am I?

"Sir Eugene." Laura called Eugene

Eugene turned towards Laura. He unintentionally looked at Laura with a feeling look.
