The Two Empresses

The Two Empresses
The Dying Avant Heim

"So we go to Avant Heim?" ilmol asked while wearing the Phoenix family robe and repairing his loosely-spaired hair.

"You've heard His Majesty's orders, haven't you?" reply Julian while fixing his gloves. "We must give them help as a form of our relationship."

"What can we help when their power source is killed?" lamented Ilmol. Julian was just silent, his hands were busy drawing magic circles on the ground. "You hear me?"

"Listen, really. That's why we're sent there to find out what they need right now, okay?" reply Julian lazy. Finished drawing the magic circle, he cast a spell and made the circle shine brightly. He immediately pulled Ilmol into the circle and the two were already resting on the gloomy Avant Heim.

"...creepy," murmured Ilmol.

"I think Avant Heim was also affected by Deus' death. Let's go," Julian replied. The two walked towards the capital and were astonished to see hundreds of flugels lying helplessly on the ground, some of them already in the afterlife.

"It's too horrible" isak Ilmol. Julian ran quickly towards the big tree at the end of the island until it came to a halt when someone called out his name softly. He turned around, finding Jegudiel sitting under a tree with one of his wings broken and his eyes dimming as if losing hope. Julian rushed over and gave first aid with the potion he was carrying.

"What's really going on?" julian asked while making a bidai from a long wood that was nearby. Ilmol ran over and helped him with the healing.

"...the half-god that.appeared after.you went and stabbed him..with a strange spear.that I never saw..before," said Jegudiel panting.

"Weird spear?" ask Julian.

"That thing is like having. In the middle.there.e..ball eyes..iblis."

"...where might such a weapon exist" Julian said.

"It seems I know," said Ilmol as he straightened Jegudiel's wing bones and connected them with magic.

"You know what?" ask Julian.

"...legenda said in the deepest southern sea, there is a cave that can not be reached by anyone, even gods though. The cave was filled with gold and jewels, but there was one cursed object made from the bones and blood of the demon king stuck on the rock. Once you touch it, your soul will be drawn into eternal madness" Ilmol half-shudded.

"Where do you know that?" julian asked suspiciously.

"Uh, ah, from the ancestors.I mean. Before the war erupted hundreds of years ago, there was a feud with the demon race. One of the iron forges approached the battlefield and retrieved the corpse of the rotten demon king to serve as the best weapon material. Unfortunately, he died immediately after the cursed object was finished being made. It took hundreds of witches to seal it," replied Ilmol timidly.

"...why did the generation before us love to do crazy experiments?" julian asked softly, closing both of his eyes with his big hand. Finished healing, Ilmol made sure the wings could move without any problems.

"Okay, now what do you need?" julian asked as he looked at Jegudiel who was starting to look better, even though the pain was still on his face.

"The circuit where we are cut off and the possibility of Avant Heim falling is getting higher, we need a replacement for Deus" said Jegudiel. Julian and Ilmol looked at it.

"...it's harder than I imagined" lamented Ilmol.

"Same. So..uh..."

"Jegul."

"OK, Jegudiel. I don't think finding a replacement for Deus is easy. Is there another alternative for a while?" ask Julian.

"I think there's, but I have to check back in the library. Can you help me move?" reply Jegudiel carefully. Julian immediately placed his arm on Jegudiel's waist and Jegudiel's arm on his shoulder.

"Let's go" Julian said, addressing Jegudiel. They made their way slowly to the residence of Jegudiel and found Jibril frozen in the crystal.

"Is he okay?" ask Ilmol.

"It was one of our forms of defense to save mana, although the chances of dying are also quite high" Jegudiel replied. He pointed to a tall bookshelf that was quite dim and tendrils adorned it.

"You can pick up a book with a black cover, number 150 from the right" Jegudiel said. Julian immediately deployed the tendril to retrieve the book in question according to his description. After the book was in hand, he gave it to Jegudiel. He quickly opened the book in the middle and showed it. The two witches were confused because the language they used was not mastered. Ilmol immediately flicked his fingers and two pairs of glasses were already in his hands. He gave one to Julian and immediately put it on.

"...crystal Eye of Oorun is the only source of which is the largest in the land of Eurashia?" read Julian.

"I can't.no, I don't want to go into the Holy Forest" refused Ilmol.

"It was too scary" Julian continued.

"...I thought this was going to be hard. Can you pass it on to Queen Saciel?" ask Jegudiel.

"could. I'll connect you with His Majesty, "Julian said quickly, moving the tendril to get closer and making a small gramophone.

"Are there any plants around Her Majesty the Queen?" ask Ilmol.

"Attay, Ilmol. I'm... Aah, Your Majesty? Can your Majesty hear me?"

"...Julian?"

"Hello, Your Majesty. Can we talk?" jegudiel asked quickly, making the two witches slightly shocked by his behavior that was far from polite.

"Jegudiel, huh? Can I help you?" saciel asked casually, as if already unconcerned with the custom.

"Can Avant Heim ask..ah no, buy Mata Oorun?" ask Jegudiel to the point. There was a pause for quite a while after hearing Jegudiel's proposal.

"For what?" ask Saciel carefully.

"From the book I read, Mata Oorun was able to give mana to us the flugels. We really need it for our survival" said Jegudiel.

"...with a situation like this, it will be difficult for us to move at will into the Holy Forest," Saciel replied.

"We don't have much time to wait, Your Majesty. With conditions like this, we can only survive for less than a week," continued Jegudiel resisted emotions. There was a short breath, occasionally the sound of someone else coming in.

"I'll try as much as I can. Anything else you need?" reply Saciel quiet.

"Medicine is enough" replied Jegudiel.

"Alright, I'll send you the drugs after this. Is Julian there?"

"I'm here, Your Majesty," Julian said.

"Are you capable of concocting drugs while there?"

"With potluck, I think I can, Your Honor," Julian replied. "Does Your Majesty need Ilmol to take Oorun's Eye?"

"No, I just need that goddamn god to help me. Phillip couldn't have left this place, let alone Lao."

"But Your Majesty, you are more important to be in Careol" Julian said. "Can't you just send another one?"

"...Right now I can only manage, Julian. If I die, Cerlina will be the next queen" said Saciel.

"You.I mean, Your Majesty! I'm not willing if you die before it's all over!" snapped Julian. Ilmol and Jegudiel did not expect if Julian dared to yell at the queen known temperamental.

"My job is to help the people, not defend the kingdom. Watch your mouth, Julian," Sissy Saciel. Julian grew increasingly upset to the point of unconsciously squeezing the tendril wrapped around his hand to death.

"Are all God Oorun going to help us? Isn't it that the gods can't interfere in worldly affairs?"

"If he dares to refuse my request, I will make sure he suffers the same fate as Deus" Saciel replied. "I have to go. Within 30 minutes, all drugs will be delivered."

"Wait, Yang." his sentence was interrupted when Saciel burned down the gerbera flowers in his chair as a means of communication.

"Call Cerlina here. And pick up Aunt Claudia to help prepare all the necessary medicine in Avant Heim."
