"Devni, everything will be okay," said Raka, for the umpteenth time trying to calm Davina down.
The woman was silent, staring into the streets while wiping her tears.
Raka and Davina are heading to Bandung. Davina was driving alone, but their extended family certainly forbade her to go alone with this state of anxiety.
"You can't go alone, Dav. You have a fever too!” Diana strictly forbids. The driver of the Mahardhika family was on holiday that day. Rara's husband actually offered to, but Diana also forbade because Rara's husband had just arrived in Indonesia yesterday. He is not in a fit condition either.
"Ma, I can't possibly relax here while my future husband is in the hospital, don't know why!” Davina's voice rose, spilling her panic.
Everyone seemed quite shocked by the emotions Davina had brought up. The woman was used to being calm and clever hiding her feelings. Of course everyone is not used to Davina being hysterical like this.
Davina herself did not really understand why she could do this. It seemed to show all his feelings in front of Raka earlier had opened a door that he had been closing tightly all this time. This is exactly what Davina was afraid of. Once that door opens, he won't be able to close it back. His feelings are now real in front of everyone.
“Yes, I'm the one driving.” Finally someone made a sound.
Everyone was shocked back. Especially Davina.
“MAU YOU WHAT ELSE?!” Davina's back hysterical.
Although offended by Davina's attitude, Raka tries to be calm.
He looked at Davina flatly as he said, “I also don't like to drag you into the arms of other men. But this is the most rational choice, rather than justin you die on the highway.”
“Raka!” Nayla hits Raka's shoulder.
Davina's face turned red. His anger was burning even more, especially when his parents gave consent.
“Yes, you go with Raka, Dav. This is more make sense, than you have to drive alone to Bandung,” said Diana.
“Mama–“ Davina wants to protest Diana, but Dave has already shaken firmly. Davina knew she would win if she had an argument with her mother. But with the papa? Don't hope!
Davina clenched her teeth. He hates the idea of being alone with Raka in the car to Bandung, but it's better than not being able to leave at all.
“Lo want me to come?” Rara asked Davina, when she finally relented and immediately took her makeshift needs in the room.
“No need, Brother. Cassian Key.”
“What's risk. There are many who can keep.”
Davina looked at Rara. Although she wanted her brother to be there to protect her, but she did not want to be selfish.
“I can handle Raka, Kak,” says Davina, more to yourself. He has been trying to convince himself since.
Raka is the one who is the reason for the chaos of his life, which he wants to avoid desperately, but instead always be the one attached to his life. Sticking like gum that won't come off.
Will this be forever?
Davina cursed in her heart.
No. gabe. The universe can't be that cruel.
Davina refuted her own bad thoughts.
And this is where Davina and Raka, crossing the Cipularang toll road in complete silence. There is no music in the background. Raka concentrated fully on the street, while occasionally checking on the state of the woman next to her.
Davina herself had been too busy with her thoughts since then. Not wanting to speak a word to Raka, only to be seen occasionally wiping away the tears.
Raka doesn't know how to cheer Davina up. He could only repeatedly utter cliche sentences like: calm Dav, everything will be fine. Which was only met with silence from Davina. Even many times he threw away face from Raka.
Raka is confused. Davina didn't explain anything. After calling the hospital where Nikolas was being treated, Davina just kept quiet along the way. He did not tell Raka at all about how Nikolas could be in the hospital at this time. Does pain? Or accident?
Raka could only hope that everything was completely fine. Yes, Raka still had a conscience, although it would have been easier for him if Nicholas had fallen from the twentieth floor and died on the spot.
But apparently, that's not what he wanted. Raka alone was amazed by herself. Tumben he's acting this selfish. He even volunteered to drive Davina to see Nikolas!
What a breakthrough.
After a while of driving, Raka felt drowsy to attack. At KM 72, he decided to pull over briefly to the rest area. As soon as the car headed outside the toll, Davina immediately protested.
“Why do we exit toll?”
Raka quipped, “Finally stopped being mute?”
Davina looked at him furiously.
“You are!”
“What?”
“Job!”
“Iya, yes. Up.”
Raka parked her car as soon as she arrived at the rest area.
“You're coming down?” ask Raka.
Davina was silent, not answering.
For the sake of time efficiency, Raka immediately got out of the car and bought coffee like his original intention. No need to wait long, he already got his order. He immediately returned to the car.
“This, make you.” Raka handed Davina a plastic cup.
“I didn't ask for!” Davina refused.
Raka also put a plastic glass Davina's on the dashboard of the car, “As far as you want to drink or not. If later the drink falls on you, I also have no responsibility.”
Raka immediately props up her car, making the glass shake. Davina immediately retrieved it from the top of the dashboard.
“You!!!” Davina growls.
“Teh chamomile doang it's contents, so you calm down,” said Raka.
Davina threw away her face again.
Raka closed her mouth after that. Even when Davina started sipping her tea, she also did not want to comment on anything. He's not acting as usual.
Turns out…
Raka can be this mature, when needed.

Finally, a few hours later, they arrived at the hospital, where Nikolas was treated. They had difficulty when looking for a room, but after asking here and there they finally found the room in question.
As soon as Davina opened the door, there sat Nicholas with a slightly bruised face and a cast in his hand. An infusion hose was also attached to his free hand.
Davina immediately ran into Nikolas's arms, then cried loudly while hugging his future husband.
“Do not cry. I’m okay, Dav,” said Nikolas, briefly, while patting Davina's back.
The woman did not answer at all, only continued to cry in Nicholas' arms.
In the midst of the situation, Nicholas looked at Raka who was still standing silently at the door.
“Gue only nganterin. Don't get me wrong!” Raka said so.
Nicholas did not answer.
Raka understood.
“Gue wait outside, if you need anything,” he said, then pull the doorknob.
Before closing the door completely, Raka had seen Davina who was hugging Nicholas tightly. As hard as he could, as if he didn't want to take it off again.
And for the first time, Raka's heart was in excruciating pain. The pain was like setting off a warning alarm in his head. Slapped him right in his consciousness.
That Davina really doesn't belong to him anymore.
That this is the punishment for one who has wasted the best gift.
It turns out how scary the fear of losing it is…
And finally he realized…
That in a moment, Davina would completely slip out of her grasp.
