Trapped By The Devil
Like the Night Sky

“Nganterin Davina,” replied Raka, briefly, to the woman before her.

Angel's face flushed red, holding back anger. He turned to Davina, looking at her intently like asking for an explanation.

Davina immediately seemed to be going awry, until she could not say anything.

Raka himself can catch the fear from Davina. He rolled his eyeballs, astonished by Davina's attitude like this.

“My whereabouts here have nothing to do with Davina. I'm the one who makes sense for nganterin because I'm worried that he drove alone in a state of chaos.” Raka explained. He didn't like it if others looked down on Davina.

But it was not to make Angel calm, the face of the prospective in-law Davina now turned upset. Because he doesn't need any explanation from anyone else. Davina should be able to give her own explanation.

“Davina, later Mama need an explanation.” Angel seemed to affirm that Raka's explanation was useless.

“I-iya, Ma...” Davina replied, resigned.

Raka did not think. Not only in Angel's attitude, but also in Davina's attitude that became as weak as this in front of Nicholas' parents. Raka turned her gaze towards Angel's husband, but the man flinched. His face was as indifferent and cold as no matter how his wife treated others.

Angel walked past them. But before entering into Nikolas's room, he turned dramatically and looked at Davina sharply, “You till when did you leave your future husband alone in here, Dav?”

Davina immediately stepped away from next to Raka.

Raka couldn't stand to see it all.

“Wait!” He interrupted.

Davina's move stopped. He turned around and glared at Raka. He knew the man for life, clearly he knew what was inside Raka's head at this moment. And that's not a good thing!

“Sorry, but before I go, I just want to express my opinion...” Raka gives a moment's pause to get Angel's attention.

As soon as Angel wants to look into his eyes, Raka continues his sentence again, “If Aunt believes in the ability of Auntie's children to maintain Davina, Aunt certainly should not hesitate if I nganterin Davina.”

Angel's face grew more upset.

“And Davina is now here for Auntie's son. I don't need to explain what that means, do I? Or it turns out that Aunt also has doubts about the ability of Auntie's children?” Raka smiled a little.

“Raka!!” Davina scolded Raka.

The man just sighed while shaking his shoulders.

Raka is the most selfish creature on earth. He had been a bully for Davina all his life, but he didn't like anyone else harassing her. To him, only he could disturb Davina.

“Don't add my problem again.” Davina is now begging. His face looks very tired.

Raka lost her power. Seeing Davina who looked so desperate at this moment instantly undoes her intention to confront Angel any longer. He realized that it would only cause problems for Davina.

And. he. didn't want to do it again…

“Okay, I’m going.” Raka finally relented, then stepped away.

Before he completely disappeared, Raka turned around. He looked at Davina who was stepping into the hospital room.

He can give everything to Davina right now, more than what that woman got from Nicholas…

But how do you prove this to Davina at a time when all she wants right now is to be by Nikolas's side?

***

Davina was the last person to enter the hospital room.

“Why are you doing Raka nganterin you anyway, Dav?” Angel started his talk to Davina.

But Davina did not answer, Angel's loud voice woke Nikolas.

“Mama?” Nicholas immediately realized the presence of his mother.

“Oh, son! Why did you get this way?” Angel hugged Nicholas.

“Aw, pain, Ma.” Nicholas complained. He also had bruises on his stomach and ribs. His mother's embrace caused a painful sensation there. It seemed like the pain medication he had taken had already lost its effect.

“Yeah, sick huh? Mama's sorry, Nik.”Angel immediately took off her embrace.

Nikolas just nodded with a small smile.

“Mama why get angry?” Nikolas deliberately shifted the subject.

“You know who Davina was sent to?” ask Angel to Nikolas.

The man understood immediately.

“Know,” replied Nikolas, briefly.

“Why aren't you angry??” Angel did not accept with a calm attitude Nikolas.

Davina's waiting…

Waiting for her husband's reaction. How Nicholas dealt with this incident.

Davina looked at Nicholas. Hope something good comes out of the man's mouth. His head was filled with bad things, he just wanted to hear something that calmed him down at this moment.

“Udahlah, Ma.” Finally, Nicholas spoke.

“What's up, Nik? Your future wife came here the same person who has made your marriage void!” Angel fire.

“Ma, have you?! I don't want to talk about this.” Nicholas dodged, choosing to go back inside his blanket. He just doesn't want to talk about anything to anyone.

And Davina had to swallow her disappointment round and round. How could Nicholas do this to her! After what he went through…

At least he deserves a defense. Nicholas should have explained to Angel that it was circumstances that forced Davina to be ushered in by Raka. That this is not Davina's will…

Davina should've gotten all that…

No one should doubt Davina!

Not Angel…

Not anybody…

Nicholas knows that best! Didn't they talk about it! That despite everything that happened, Davina still chose Nicholas. Stay here for him.

Because Davina promised…

Davina has chosen…

Angel's anger is burning again. He turned to Davina.

But Davina has lost – either the will or the ability – to say anything. Or feel anything.

“Davina, did you see that Nikolas was no good?! Don't see Raka again! You must realize, you are a respectable woman, do not want to be ushered by a man who has failed your marriage!”

Davina looked at Angel. I lost interest in saying anything.

“Iya, Ma,” replied, briefly.

Davina could still hear the whole sentence spilling out of Angel's mouth. But no one could attract his attention anymore.

Davina stared out the hospital room window. The sky is starting to fade. The twilight will be over in a moment. The orange spray is slowly replaced by night.

The sun has gone away.

Leaving the sky in the darkness.

Soleness.

Like himself.

Always let others leave him in the dark.

Until when.

Don't know when it'll end.

Why does Davina always let all this happen to her?
