Trapped By The Devil

Trapped By The Devil
Not A Disaster

“You've eaten?” ask Raka, as soon as Davina gets in the car.

“But.”

Raka tucked away, “From morning?”

Davina nodded.

“You're looking for what disease?” Raka growling.

Davina did not answer.

Raka pulled Davina's hand and held her small, skinny wrist.

“You're so skinny, Devni.”

“I just didn't get to. Not because of fear of fat.” Davina immediately pulled her hand out of Raka's grasp.

The man did not want to continue the fight. He better focus on providing solutions.

“What do you want to eat? Literally what! You want to eat rabbit meat also I anterin to Bogor.”

Davina smiled, clearly knowing that Raka would indeed do anything at this moment for her to eat. Then, Davina suddenly remembered something.

“Mama Nay cook what?” tanyakanya.

Dahi Raka frowning.

“I'm serious!” Davina's urgent.

“Err, I don't know anyway. Want me to ask?”

Davina nodded.

Raka immediately connected her phone to Nayla's number. Shortly after, his mother answered directly through a car speaker connected to the phone.

“Why, Ka?” ask Nayla.

“Mama today cook what?”

“Hm? Tumben really nanya? You want to stop by?”

“Depends on what Mom cooks.”

“Dasar durhaka!”

“If Raka is good, earth is shaking-ganjing.”

Nayla laughs softly, “Iya sih.”

“So, Mama cook what?”

“Cumi saos padang.”

Davina silently gulped her own saliva. The shadow of a spicy taste like it had already been felt on his own tongue.

“Papa cholesterol Pills. Discokined squid mulu.” Raka grumbling.

“Do not come to you! Mama padlock fence home so you can not enter!”

Raka chuckles, “Kayak could only.”

“Ngadepin kids kayak you have to bear!”

Raka smiled, Kangen also heard her mother's nagging. But he has to focus. Davina needs to eat!

He also glanced at his beloved woman.

“You don't?” ask Raka, slowly.

Davina nodded too.

Nayla on the other end could hear Raka talking to someone else.

“Who else are you, Ka?” ask Nayla, curious.

Raka immediately placed an index finger on her lips, hinting for Davina to shut up. Davina according.

“There deh,” replied Raka to her mother.

“Seriously, Ka! Said you want to chase Davina, how are you now the same other girl anyway?!” Nayla sounded angry.

“Davina no longer wants to be with Raka, yes Raka has been looking for other girls aja.”

“Be careful if you dare! Mama who takes you to the deepest hell, no more need for life-extracting angels!” Nayla threatens.

“Loh?! How angry is Mama?” Raka chuckled again.

Davina silently smiled.

Sometimes with Raka it is easy to breathe. Like these. When Nayla would punish her own son for Davina.

It is ironic that the mother of the ex-lover loves us more than the future-in-law.

***

As soon as Raka and Davina appeared on her doorstep, Nayla hit Raka on the shoulder.

“You're the incarnation of malin kundang or what the hell?” Nayla nagging.

Raka chuckles.

“How do you want to be alone with the devil, Dav?” ask Nayla.

Davina laughs. Without hesitation, his hand immediately held Nayla.

“Mama Nay cook squid saos padang ya?” ask Davina.

“Iya. Mama kayak has a feeling you want to come.”

Davina nodded. Nayla-style prairie saos squid is indeed one of his favorites.

They walked to the family room. Azel turned his head as soon as he heard the voices.

“Halo, Dav!” Azel smiled.

“Halo, Pa!”

“Totally the same Raka here?” Azel asked as soon as Raka also appeared behind Nayla and Davina.

“Truly, Pa.” Davina laughed, again.

This house is very warm, creating a happy aura for anyone who visits it. That's what Davina feels every time she comes here.

“You don't play shaman, do you, Ka? Religion forbidden loh!” Azel rebuked his son.

Raka rolled her eyeballs, “Papa times the old witch. Where is there a beautiful young girl who wants to be with grandpa widower status?!”

Nayla and Davina laughed.

“Papa kan charming. Your mother who liked Papa first.” Azel defended himself.

“Halah! Talk Papa tuh template all the fathers of Indonesia!” Raka sneered.

“Totally! Isn't that right, Nay?!” Azel looked at Nayla.

Nayla raises eyebrows, “GR you!”

“Dih, don't want to say! You like me from Junior High, right?!” Azel mocked Nayla.

“Ya, yes! Ntar aja. Raka's hungry. Want to eat.” Raka acted as if mediating. He just wanted Davina to eat quickly.

“Ya. Come on, eat, Dav.” Nayla pulls Davina into the dining room.

Because of the age that had begun to twilight, Nayla and Azel became increasingly religious by the day. Azel led the meal prayer today. In his prayer, not forgetting he asked for Davina's health and Espoir's success. Davina was secretly moved.

Dave and Diana were not people who were too close to religion. Hence, sometimes the concept of religion is a little vague for Davina. However, being in the midst of this family, always reminded her that everything would return to God.

Even the recovery of Dave and Diana's relationship that had been fractured was inseparable from the role of an agaam leader. Reverend Jefri. The priest who married Nicholas and Davina.

The Reverend Jefri is an acquaintance of Azel and Nayla. He was one of the resting poles for Diana as Dave left first. Diana even got closer to religion for a while. And that's what Davina believes, can make Diana that easy to forgive Dave. Because in his heart, there is peace and greatness to forgive.

All these reasons are what makes Davina always admire Reverend Jefri. Hence, one of his dreams was to be married by Reverend Jefri.

Raka knows that.

Nicholas knows that.

But that simple desire was the beginning of it all. The cause of all these disasters begins. It began with a month-long agreement between Raka and Nicholas that was about to expire.

So, this is where Davina is now, half-dead confused, in the midst of the chaos of the disaster.

“Dav, add dong! Eating it really is so!” Nayla's voice jolts Davina from the daydream.

“Eh, yes, Ma.” Davina scoops more squid into her plate. Not waiting for long, he had already devoured the dish deliciously.

Raka tries to distract Azel and Nayla from turning to Davina. His favorite woman is eating greedily, do not let an attention disturb his taste.

“Alis Papa has been gray hair too huh?” chirps Raka.

Azel glanced at Raka with annoyance, “Ya, hair time gray hair, her eyebrows are not? Is Papa a cat whose fur is mottled?”

Raka chuckles.

“Mama would like to take you on vacation, Ka,” said Nayla.

“Kok suddenly? Vacation where?” asked Raka, astonished.

“Ke Dubai yuk?! He said there was Burj Khalifah, the tallest building in the world.”

“Iya, continue?”

“Yes, I want to take a ride to the top floor, see Dubai city sights, city lights. Lastly, Mama jorokin you from the top floor!” Nayla.

Raka laughed as she said, "Evil!"

"You're a fucking hell demon!"

“Mama her demon queen if so!” raka Balas.

They all laughed when they saw the mother and the child being teased at each other.

Davina silently observed the family. What did he say? The beginning of disaster?

This family was not a disaster for him. They became a blessing that he should be grateful for in his life.

She should have held Raka tighter, no matter how hard the man tried to let her go...
