Trapped By The Devil

Trapped By The Devil
Despite Everything

Davina could hear Raka's words before leaving the hospital room.

“Gue wait outside, if need anything.”

So said.

To Nicholas.

Not to Davina.

Bizarrely.

Raka shouldn't have behaved like that.

It's Raka. He does not sympathize with others. He takes care of his own feelings.

So, why did he say that phrase? What is Raka thinking? Is it just to attract Davina's attention?

But here is the question…

If Raka is lying, why does her words sound sincere?

Davina's confused. To be honest, it would be easier if Raka remained brash. It was easier if the man did not offer to take him to Bandung. It is easier if the man ignores or even hurts him!

But Raka never made the easy way of life for Davina. Everything about Raka is always complicated. Maybe this is directly proportional to how big she used to feel about Raka. Because the greater the love for someone, the more we arm them with various things that can hurt us.

Davina could not stop thinking about it, until finally, one hand of Nicholas began to stroke her head.

Ah, true…

Here's air.

She is currently in the arms of her future husband. How dare he think of another man!

It's not enough for all of these punishments. As if not deterred, Davina also played heart.

He immediately released his embrace from Nicholas. The man looked at him, fixedly. Nikolas's face looks regretful, he also does not know what to say to his future wife.

They looked at each other for a while.

Nikolas was about to say something, but Davina cut him off.

“We don't need to discuss anything, Nik.”

Nicholas was silent, only able to hold Davina's hand tightly.

“Despite everything, I’m right here, right now,” Davina said.

(Despite everything, I'm here now.)

Nicholas nodded, then pulled Davina again into his arms. He could feel Davina's body still stiff.

He rubbed Davina's back.

Slowly but surely, Davina's eyes heat up again. All the feelings that he daritadi detained during the Jakarta-Bandung trip, began to overflow.

“I’m really sorry,” whispered Nikolas.

Davina shakes.

It's not Nikolas's fault. Davina is unfaithful. Undeniably, he considered Raka, he wanted Raka. His whole heart was still shouting out the name of the man.

This is a punishment for all his stupidity.

Then the tears came again. Clearly the thought just jerked Davina's conscience.

Until when his cruelty to Nicholas would end…

For how could she possibly regard her own future husband as a punishment for him?

After talking for a while, the doctor finally wanted to give painkillers to Nikolas. It makes the man instantly sleepy and within minutes has fallen asleep.

Davina confirmed the location of the blanket, briefly observing Nikolas's face.

After being convinced that her future husband had fallen asleep, Davina stepped out of the room. He had searched around, but did not find Raka anywhere.

Davina sighed.

What a stupid thought…

How could that man still be here? For four hours, he accompanied Nicholas in there! Raka must have gone back to Jakarta.

Davina chose to sit on a waiting bench in front of Nicholas' room. From the bench, he could see directly into the hospital garden. He attached his back to the back of the bench and sat contemplating.

To be honest, Davina thought nothing of it. He did not want to feel any emotion. This is not a good time!

He wanted to hide his entire feeling into that door again. He didn't want anyone else to see him break apart here.

In this foreign place…

However, in line with the neglect of all emotions within, a momentous Davina's human needs appeared. Hunger and thirst are the most dominant.

Davina glanced at the clock on her phone. It's five o'clock in the afternoon. He should feel hungry. He had not even had time to eat the breakfast that Raka delivered into his room!

Would it be better for him to go to the cafeteria for a while? Is it okay if he leaves Nikolas for a moment?

Davina was just about to stand up, but suddenly a plastic was stretched out in front of her face.

“Hungry right?” said.

What a rhetorical question!

In fact, without even looking, Davina already knew who was holding out the plastic bag. Is he still here?

“I want to buy it myself,” refuse Davina.

Raka chose to ignore Davina's sentence. He put the bag over Davina's lap.

“Eat aja.”

Davina glanced at him sharply, “Daritadi you were just acting as you please continue yes, Ka!”

“What country have you been living in, Devni? Since when is buying food and drinks for others a criminal act?”

They looked at each other in annoyance for a few moments.

Finally, Raka took a breath.

“This will save you time, Devni. You do not have to go to the canteen again, ngantri long, not to mention waiting for the food to be cooked..”.

Davina just shut up.

Raka's getting all wrong.

“I’m sorry, okay? I'm mistaken. I'm sorry.”

Seeing that rare surrender attitude, Davina became more and more. He responded by asking, “It is indeed your fault what?!”

Raka growling. Women are like the formula of calculus that is difficult to solve. Not even Albert Einstein could understand women's will!

Finally, Raka decided to completely give up. He sat next to Davina, leaning completely there.

“Terasu. From now on it's up to you,” said Raka.

Davina rolled her eyeballs. But still did not touch the package on his lap.

Finally, Raka understood what Davina wanted. And that made his heart even more painful.

There's only one thing Davina wants right now.

Something that could make him breathe for a moment.

That is…

Raka's Absence.

“Once you finish this meal, I promise you will go straight back to Jakarta, Devni.”

Raka vowed to catch a glimpse of the light in Davina's eyes once she finished saying her sentence. And that makes everything more unbearable.

“You promise?” davina asked, as if she wanted to hurt Raka more and more.

“Iya,” answer, brief.

Davina finally opened the plastic and started eating.

Devouringly.

Quick.

Not compassionate at all.

Like trying to race against time.

It was as if Davina wanted Raka to vanish from before her.

Raka counted the remaining seconds. There won't be much time. He wants to enjoy everything.

Even if it's only two weeks.

Or five minutes.

Or even just ten seconds left.

He no longer wanted to spend the rest of his time regretting the past.

He wanted to make use of it by looking at Davina for longer. How beautiful that woman was, always was, to her.

His hand raised to touch Davina…

The reflex he always had for the woman.

However, it stopped when…

“Redged!” davina said, swallowing her last mouthful.

Raka dropped her hand again to the side of the body. He nodded, then stood up.

“I'm home yes.”

Davina nodded slowly.

Raka also moved.

However, his steps suddenly stopped due to the presence of others.

The two people looked at him with a pus.

“WHATIN YOU HERE?” Angel, Nikolas' mother, yelled at Raka with a shrill voice.
