Behind the Eyes of INDIGO

Behind the Eyes of INDIGO
A story

Alia was surprised to hear Zizi's words, she fell silent and did not understand what he was really talking about. Shortly thereafter Zizi spoke again in a very confident tone.

"You're indigo!"

Alia was just speechless, she then let go of her hand that was still in Zizi's grasp, slowly she moved away and sat down bowed. The atmosphere in the room became very quiet. Alia's mind became mixed, the identity that he had been covering finally there were also those who knew.

"*So that feeling, that curiosity, and that look, it's not all a coincidence? does he already know? but why would he know? or don't\-don't*?" Alia spoke in her heart.

"Why are you Al?" asked Nida who diverted Alia from her thoughts.

"Papa kok ngga" Alia tried to calm herself down, slowly she came back to Zizi who was still staring at her.

"So, you too?" ask Alia slowly.

Zizi nodded while looking at Mita who was still beside him while saying "She is too".

"You should not be surprised so, no matter how you hide it then people who are more capable than you will know, because this place is not an ordinary place" said Mita who had been silent.

Alia fell silent again while Nida was confused by what the three of them were talking about, she tried to just shut up and listen.

"Yes! all this time I did feel it, but I didn't really care, because I didn't want to get into trouble anymore" explained Alia.

"Excuse me, sorry for interrupting your time. Nida let's go" Alia got up from her seat and took Nida back to her room.

"You may not care, but he does! and no matter how indifferent you are, he won't leave!" said Zizi who tried to stop Alia.

Alia paused for a moment, thinking about what Zizi had said, but she still left the room. Alia and Nida walked downstairs, and Alia felt that the woman she had seen was still following her from behind.

Alia looked back at the woman, but she went back into hiding. Alia then remembered Zizi's words, and it was there that Alia only realized that those who followed her were not human.

"*Did he want to tell you something? but why am I*?" alia said in her heart.

Arriving at Nida's room, Alia felt very tired, she laid her body on the floor without any reason. Unconsciously she fell asleep.

"You! aren't you the one who's been following me since? what was? why do you keep following me?"

Alia was shocked because suddenly the woman was in front of her, she wondered but the woman was just silent. He then approached Alia and touched her head, where Alia was told something. Alia saw everything that happened to the woman, including the reason she became what she is today.

"Alia!! wakeup! let's eat first!" Nida shouted while shaking Alia's body lying on the floor.

Alia felt shocked and woke up from her sleep, she then sat down and said nothing.

"It was just a dream, but it looked like it was real!"

"Go nalamun! let's eat first" Nida again surprised Alia.

"Can I ask you no?"

"What?" while stirring the rice with the side dish and starting lunch.

"Have you ever heard the story if someone died here?"

"Thuk!!" Nida suddenly chokes on hearing a question from Alia.

"Pelan\-pelan aja eat it! I'm not asking!"

"Have anyone died here?"

Nida was silent while remembering, if she had heard the story of her roommate, Mba Lila.

"Oh yeah! never horrified, but do not know the obvious, because the incident has been a long time" replied Nida while chewing the food that is still in her mouth.

"So right!" Alia spoke in a pretty loud tone.

"Woy again doing it! talk, don't be loud! not good for the others!" suddenly Lila came to the room.

"This is the guy! I'm getting out of him!" said Nida while pointing towards Mba Lila.

Mba Lila is one of the senior students who has lived in the pesantren for quite a long time, she is not in school but she still wants to stay in pesantren because she wants to continue learning to teach her.

Of the five people including Nida who lived in the room, Mba Lila was the only\ who had not gone to school, and she was also the oldest santri in the room.

Alia was actually a bit afraid to ask Mba Lila, because this was the first time she met, and again the question might be a little disturbing.

"What's!? how do you point at me?" ask Mba Lila who was curious about the conversation of Alia and Nida.

"That's Alia nanya, really no one had ever died here" explained Nida with her leisure.

Alia gave a small smile, feeling scared that she might not want to give an answer. Mba Lila was silent for a moment and said "you why is that?"

"Eeemm just make sure you are mba" Alia said in a hesitant tone.

"Yes! but it's been a long time, I also don't know why" Mba Lila replied in a nonchalant tone, hoping that Alia didn't ask more.

"I know! uh" Alia suddenly slipped into speech.

Mba Lila and Nida stared deeply at Alia, as if wanting to hear the explanation of the words Alia had said earlier.

"Hehe, look at it that way, rich wants to eat me only si"

"So what you said was mba Zizi?" ask Nida.

"What did Zizi say? what did you mean you were talking about it?" mba Lila was getting curious.

"Actually, I didn't mean to, but he died from falling from the top floor right?" Alia explained in a soft tone.

Mba Lila fell silent, she sat down next to Alia, while Nida just looked at her, feeling very eager to hear the continuation of Alia's story.

"Not many know about this, only people who have lived here for a long time, this story has actually been locked, and should not be revealed again, because if it is opened again, this story is actually locked, later there might be a victim" Lila explained in a whisper, but Nida and Alia could still hear him.

"So that's right?" Alia was shocked to hear the explanation from Mba Lila.

"It happened about 10 years ago. Heard he killed himself and jumped from the top floor" Lila said.

"No! he didn't kill himself!" Alia resolute.

"Where do you know? can you see him like that Azam?" mba Lila again threw a question at Alia with her indifferent tone.

"meaning? Who is Azam?" Alia turned her gaze to Nida.

"He's our same class, next class" replied Nida.

"Yes! he had lived in Pesantren for quite a long time, he was also the son of a famous kyai in his city, so he could see such a thing. And I heard that story also from him" Mba Lila spoke up again.

"Where is Da?" Alia again asked Nida, because all this time she was so indifferent to others that she did not know her own classmate.

"Ah that was the one standing in front of the entrance of the pesantren son!" answer Nida.

" So, he's been watching me from far away?"
