Behind the Eyes of INDIGO

Behind the Eyes of INDIGO
The Letter of Yasin

After a while of traveling, Alia finally reached home, she went straight inside and headed for her room, rushing to change clothes and clean herself up.

Soon she realizes that there is no one in the house except Alia, and she is astonished to go where everything is.

Alia then rushed to the house of Grandma Imah and it turns out her sister was there, she also immediately asked where her mother was, and why the house became so quiet.

"Hiks.. papa's in the hospital.."

Sita cried while saying the state of her papa. Grandma Imah then asked Alia for lunch first and then she could follow to the hospital to alternate with Mia ma'am who was guarding Pak Aji.

After finishing eating, Alia immediately rushed to the hospital to catch up with her mother, before her grandmother Imah had told her in which hospital and what room her father was in.

About 30 minutes away by motorcycle, Alia arrived at the hospital and went straight to the room that had been notified by Imah's grandmother.

Mr. Aji was admitted to a regional public hospital in the city, because they came from a middle-to-lower family, aji in a third-class room, in the hospital, or rather one room contains 4 patients.

"Ah this time it's the room?"

Alia was standing right in front of the Bougenville room, she took a look inside before finally deciding to enter.

"Alia you're coming?"

Ms. Mia was shocked when she saw Alia who suddenly followed her to the hospital. Alia immediately went in and sat down beside Mr. Aji.

Slowly Alia started massaging Pak Aji's legs while Ms. Mia was busy preparing the medicine that her husband had to take.

Alia looked around, there were 3 patients being treated including Mr. Aji. There was an empty bed of patients because the patient had gone home.

To the right of Mr. Aji there is a female patient who is lying limp and looks very thin. While to his left was a man who was quite old, he was lying stiff on his bed, not moving at all, his eyes were also closed like a person in a coma.

"Why did you get sick?"

"Oh him, mama also does not understand but like the stroke, because his body can not move all"

Alia continued to look towards the old man and felt astonished as a thick white mist began to envelop her.

Alia suddenly remembered Mayra, before she died she had also seen her best friend shrouded in a thick white mist.

"Is it just a coincidence?"

Alia muttered inwardly as she continued to look at the old man.

"Alia mama's out for a while and you're waiting here"

Ms. Mia said goodbye to come out and Alia just nodded, she went back to massaging Mr. Aji's legs slowly and forgot what she had seen.

_____-----_____

Soon Mia returned with a large brown envelope with a hospital logo where Mr. Aji was treated.

"That's what mah?"

"This is your papa's test"

"Oh yeah, how did it go?"

"So mama has been explained to be able to read the test results, and it turns out papa you are positive for typhoid"

"Positive mah? meaning papa should really keep eating well"

Suddenly the old man who was lying on the right side of Mr. Aji began to whine like a lot of pain, his breathing began to sting like he could barely breathe, his wife sitting next to him could only continue to weep over the old man's condition.

"Parent's love is mah"

"Yes, but honey, his family just cries, there is no intention to teach him"

"Why not give them advice?"

"Udah, but don't know it either"

"They're muslims, aren't they?"

Ms. Mia simply nodded while looking at the father, her gaze becoming very pity and pity for his condition.

"Mama actually wanted to read Yasin's letter to her, but there was no Yasin book and she didn't memorize it either"

Ms. Mia spoke while bowing her head, she felt guilty for not being able to help people who were in trouble, even she was eager to teach for that person but could not.

Mom's gaze looked very deep as if she was storing something she knew.

"Why should Yasin mah's letter?"

Alia wondered why her mother wanted to read Yasin's letter to the old man.

"He was actually facing death, since yesterday he's been like that"

Alia wondered why her mother said that, and finally Mia said that her mother could know the sick person who was not long ago. Suddenly Mia remembered that Alia memorized Yasin's letter, she immediately told Alia to teach her to the dying father.

At first Alia refused because she felt bad for her family, but after Mia persuaded, Alia finally wanted to.

First Alia asked permission to the father's family, and it turned out they allowed it.

Before starting, Alia asked for a glass of water which she would recite a prayer. The white water he held in his left hand and his right hand held one of his hands. The old man still continued to whine like he was in so much pain, even the whining became louder.

Slowly Alia began to read Yasin's letter, just a few verses Alia read, the father's hand suddenly clasped Alia's hand tightly and his breath was increasingly irregular, but Alia tried to continue to teach.

Slowly the whimpering became more and more quiet and began to stop, her breathing had also started to stabilize until Alia finished her reading.

After finishing Alia asked the father's wife to drink water that had been read the prayer earlier. Slowly and painfully the mother fed her husband water spoonfuls for a spoonful.

It was clear that the father had been very difficult to swallow, even just a few drops of water. Very little water was swallowed and most of it flowed out of his mouth towards the cheeks.

Alia got up and went straight to the toilet to wash her hands, feet and face. After that he sat down next to Mr. Aji. His heart felt more relieved when he finished teaching for the father.

Alia looked back at the old man, she was very silent and did not whine in pain anymore. It wasn't until an hour that he breathed his last. His wife and children could only weep at the departure of the old man.

"Innalilahi wa innailaihi..."

Ma Mia shook her head while smiling at Alia.

"Life died in the hands of God, it is not because you son, it is precisely you have helped ease the pain experienced by the father" said Mia.

Alia was just speechless, she still felt disbelief at what she saw at the moment. His heart became unsettled.

The body of the old man was immediately taken away by several hospital nurses and followed by family members. Before they all left, the daughter of the father approached Alia.

Alia was immediately frightened, but the fear disappeared when the daughter of the father smiled at Alia and said "Thank you for teaching my father".

Alia just smiled while nodding and was speechless. The woman left after shaking hands with Alia.
