Two months have passed, now my pregnancy has entered the age of 7 months. And today is the day that my husband and I have a seven-monthly event, no traditional event, we agreed to hold a meal together only and conduct a ceremony to welcome the birth of a better known as Peusijuek and invite orphans to sit together while kicking sholawat.

With the many important developments and growth experienced by babies at the age of 7 months in the womb, then forced peringtan 7 months to pray for health together, safety and smooth birth of the baby and the mother who conceived it.

In addition, the age of the womb that has reached the age of 7 months also has its own abstinence for the pregnant woman or her biological father both religiously and in customs that apply in the community.

Before the meal began, the tradition of peusijuk or fresh flour was carried out to married couples. Peusijuk events are led by village elders or families, by reading prayers and prayers of the prophet. Spouses are prayed for ease in the delivery process.

The ingredients that become peusijuk equipment are a yellow sticky rice with tampo (a banana crushed with rice flour), a tray of water, a bundle of leaves for water (on sijuek), and a bag of water, and one hand of rice and rice.

The foliage used comes from a special type of grass that is plucked with its roots (naleung sambo), coupled with pandan leaves, and small betel stems. Inside the water tray was also dipped a gold ring. The ring is affixed to the forehead and chest of the couple while being prayed. The ring is a symbol of treasure, that it should be sought with a (rational) mind but should always consider the moral and ethical (spiritual) aspects. The mind and heart must always connect when looking for sustenance (mita hareukat).

In Islam there is no Sharia that requires or regulates the existence of this 7-month anniversary. At the time of Prophet Muhammad shallalhu ‘alaihi wa sallam did not know the term peringtan 7 months and there is no order or advice about it.

This 7-monthly event was indeed started by the faithful of friends after the Prophet Muhammad and the guardians who at that time migrated to spread Islam in various regions with various customs as well as religion embraced by its people. In honor of the customs that already exist in the area they unite or adjust between existing customs with prayers, prayers and letters in al-Qur’an.

According to Madzhab Syafi’i, the event of thanksgiving by distributing banquets or dishes of food and drink to the invited guests is sunah as long as it is intended to show gratitude for the favors of Allah subhana hua ta’ala and as a form of sharing to brother or guests. Where in the process of the event can also be used to mutually memeperaturahmi rope between invited guests. 

Regarding this, Prophet Muhammad Sholallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

Lau du’itu ila kura la ajabtu

meaning:

“If I had been invited to a banquet of one hamstring (goat), I would have fulfilled” (HR. Bukhari)

In addition, the monthly 7th anniversary or ceremony that gives treats to invited guests also includes alms which is a noble matter.
