The Rock on the Edge of Fresh Sea Lake

Live a husband and wife with his beautiful daughter in Aceh. Besides being beautiful, she is also diligent and loves her family. A handsome young man wanted to ask the girl. He came from a distinguished and wealthy family in the other country. The girl received the young man's proposal after her family gave her blessing. The wedding party was also very lively.

After a few days, the young man was about to return home. He took his wife. The wife's heart was heavy leaving her family and village. However, she must follow the husband's invitation as a sign of devotion and loyalty to her husband.

"My son, stay in your husband's country" the father said.

"Remember, while on the way, do not look back. If you do, you'll be a rock!"

The girl and her husband left the village. They began a long journey to the land across the sea. Until they arrived at Lake Laut Tawar. They climbed a canoe and crossed the lake.

As the boat sailed through the lake, the girl heard her mother's voice. The voice kept calling his name. That incident lasted a long time. Finally the girl chose to look. Catastrophe happened instantly. Shortly after the girl turned her face back, her body turned to stone.

How sad the husband is. Because of too much love, the husband wants to always be with his wife. He asked God to turn himself into stone. Finished begging, the young man's body turned to stone. The pair of stones were on the shores of the Fresh Sea Lake.

Moral Message: We must obey the advice of parents and should not break promises.

In the vast forests of Aceh, parakeets live. They live in peace and sing every day. Once, they caught the adhesive of a hunter. With fear, they try to escape. Only the Parakeet King looked calmer.

"Brothers, relax!" exclaiming King Parakeet. "I have a great idea. If the hunter comes later, we must pretend to be dead. By the time the hunter gets us, wait until I count to a hundred, then we fly together!"

The people agreed with the proposal of the Parakeet King. The next day, the hunter appeared. However, he was very disappointed because his catch died all. Bruk! The hunter tripped over a rock. It's falling. The parakeets were surprised. They flew without waiting for a count. The Parakeet King was captured.

"Don't kill me." asked the Parakeet King. "In return, I will comfort you with my sweet voice every day."

The hunter brought King Parakeet home. As promised, every day the Parakeet King sings. His voice is so sweet. All who heard praised his prowess.

The news about the independence of the voice of Raja Parakeet spread to the corners of the country until it reached the ears of King Aceh. The King of Aceh ordered the guards to exchange Raja Parakeet for abundant property. The hunter also accepted the offer of the King of Aceh.

The Parakeet King arrives at the palace. It was placed in a gold cage. Every day he was given delicious food. However, he misses the forest he came from. One day, he pretended to be dead. Seeing Raja Parakeet dead, King Aceh grieved. He ordered a funeral. When the Parakeet King was placed outside the cage, he flew away and returned to the forest.

Moral Message: We must be patient and keep making sense in order to get out of trouble.
