The Lingga and the Ancient
The Linga and Purba were two very poor brothers. They work as firewood and rattan seekers in the forest. One day, while resting under a tree, Lingga remembered the message of his parents. If we pray sincerely, our wishes will be granted.
Linga invites Purba to pray. After praying fervently, a bird came flying closer. "Hi, young man, what wealth do you want?"
The phallus and the Ancient answered hesitantly, "Give us gold as the head of a horse."
When they were about to return home, they found a lump of gold as big as a horse head. The two young men were very happy. They began to imagine what they would buy from the proceeds of selling gold. The phallus wants to have its own gold. Ancient people thought so too.
Hungry, they could not carry the gold. The phallus asked the ancients to take food at home. Purba agrees. After the death of Ancient, it turns out that Lingga made a trap hole near the golden chunk. He planted sharp bamboos in them, then covered them with dry leaves.
After being full, Purba returned to the forest. He saw the Linga still waiting. The ancients approached his brother with delight. When it was almost there, Purba fell in a hole. The food he brought was thrown out.
The phallus is happy because the trap succeeded. He immediately ate with gourmand. Before long, the phallus vomited blood. It turns out that Ancient had poisoned him. Both are dead. No one can own that piece of gold.

"I'm not the thief" said Catek.
The Toulu immediately set a trap. He believes the thief will be caught soon. The next morning, he arrived in the field. The Toulu never thought that the thief was his best friend. Batek admitted his mistake. Since then, he has promised to always be honest.

The Origin of Lake Maninjau
In a village at the foot of Mount Tinjau, there lived 10 brothers. They consist of 9 men and 1 woman. Their parents have died. The eldest son was named Kukuban and the youngest was named Siti Rasani. They were taken care of by their uncle, Datuk Limbatang. He had a son named Giran. As adults, Giran and Sani fall in love with each other. Both families welcomed their relationship with joy.
After the harvest, the villagers held a traditional celebration in the form of silat. All eagerly followed, including Kukuban and Giran. Ikuban managed to defeat his opponents, as did Giran.
The two met in the deciding match. Kukuban and Giran are equally strong. Kukuban attacked Giran. However, his kick can be fended off by Giran. I was screaming in pain. Turns out, I broke my leg. He was declared defeated in the fight. I also have a grudge against Giran.
Datuk Limbatang wants to talk about the continuation of the relationship between Sani and Giran. Beyond a doubt, Kukuban opposes the relationship. Sani and Giran were very sad. The next day, they meet on the riverbank to discuss the fate of their relationship. Suddenly, the cloth that Sani was wearing got stuck in the thorny twig and injured his leg. Giran treats the wound on Sani's leg. Turns out, Kukuban had called the citizens to scout them. Seeing the actions of Giran, people are prejudiced. Sani and Giran were tried. They are considered to have committed acts that violate customary ethics.
A customary hearing found Sani and Giran guilty. They were given the punishment of having to be thrown into the crater of Mount Review so as not to bring disaster. Arriving at the top of Mount Review, Giran and Sani prayed. "Yes God. If we are innocent, let this mountain go. Teach them." Then, both of them jumped into a very hot crater.
Shortly thereafter, there was a terrible eruption. A great earthquake occurred, destroying Mount Tinjau and residential areas. The eruption of the mountain caused a crater. The longer the crater resembles a lake, which was later named Lake Maninjau.
Moral Message: We must not hold grudges and prejudices
