Ki Pande Gelang and Princess Arum

Princess Arum is a beautiful princess. He also has good manners. The beauty of Princess Arum has captivated Prince Cunihin. Princess Arum did not like the arrogant Prince Cunihin. However, he could not refuse the proposal of the Prince. Princess Arum is worried that Prince Cunihin will be angry. He was also very sad and confused.

One day, Princess Arum meets the kind-hearted Ki Pande. Ki Pande is a bracelet-making man. He lives in that village. Princess Arum told me about her sadness. Ki Pande was willing to help the Princess to thwart the proposal.

Princess Arum filed the conditions. "You have to break a big rock. I want to see the beauty of the sea from that stone pit" Princess Arum asked.

Prince Cunihin arrogantly accepted the terms. The time given by Princess Arum was three days. However, before the time came, Prince Cunihin had already completed his task.

Princess Arum became afraid if finally had to accept the proposal of the Prince. Princess Arum came to the stone pit. "I can't see the hole" said Princess Arum.

Prince Cunihin was confused. He tried to show and get into the stone hole. Miracles happen. Prince Cunihin turned into an old man, while Ki Pande became young and handsome.

It turns out that Prince Cunihin and Kl Pande were brothers. Prince Cunihin has stolen Ki Pande's wisdom. He also cursed Ki Pande to be an old man. The curse will disappear if Prince Cunihin goes into the stone hole lined with bracelets made by Ki Pande. Finally Ki Pande was called Ki Pande Gelang. He married Princess Arum. They lived happily in a village where Ki Pande made a bracelet. The community called the place by the name of Pandeglang.

The Origin of Tanjung Lesung

On the southern coast of Java, there lived a traveler named Joko Budog. He only lives with his dog and his horse. One day, Joko Budog dreams of a beautiful girl. He always remembered the girl.

Joko Budog is looking for the girl. A few days later, he arrived at Cawar Beach. He also took a shower there. Once he finished bathing, his dog and horse had turned into rocks. Though sad, he had to continue on. In memory of his two best friends, he named the reef with the name Dog Coral and Horse Coral.

Joko Budog also learned to treat dimples from his wife. After marriage, he increasingly likes to take dimples. He and his wife made beautiful sounds. Day and night, Joko Budog plays dimples so that it disturbs the surrounding population. The reprimands of the population were never ignored.

Suddenly a citizen shouted at him, "Hey, look! There's a lutung with dimples!" Joko Budog was shocked when he realized his entire body and face was overgrown with dense fur. It turned into a langur. Embarrassed, he fled and disappeared into the forest. Ni Poh Haci went to find her husband and never returned.

In memory of Ni Poh Haci, residents named the place Lesung Village. Because the place is right on a promontory, its name becomes Tanjung Lesung.

Cucumber Mas

In ancient times, in Central Java lived a widow. Her husband died a long time ago. He wants a child. Once, the Giant gave him cucumber seeds. The cucumber grows quickly and immediately bears fruit. It's golden. When split, there is a tiny baby girl inside. "When he was 17, you had to hand him over to me" the Giant said.

Cucumber Mas grew into a beautiful girl. His mother is very affectionate and proud. But the woman was very frightened and sad. Timun Mas is 17 years old. Soon he had to hand Cucumber Mas over to the Giant.

The giant came to collect the promise. Timun Mas and his mother were sad to have to part ways. Suddenly there came seven angels. They gave three small sacs of salt, chili, and cucumber seeds. "This will help you fight the Giant" said one of the angels. "Now run as fast as you can."

Cucumber Mas immediately ran into the forest. The giant almost managed to catch up to him. Their distance is getting closer. Cucumber Mas immediately sprinkle cucumber seeds. Then, lay a garden of cucumbers that bear fruit. The giant stopped to eat until it was full. When he woke up, he went back to chasing Timun Mas.

As the Giant approached the distance, Timun Mas sprinkled a second bag. Then, lay the thorny trees. The Giant had trouble chasing his prey. After coming out, the Giant went back to chasing Timun Mas. When their distance was only a few steps, Timun Mas sprinkled his ultimate pouch. At that moment, there was a vast ocean. The giant sank into the sea. Cucumber survived too. He returned home and lived happily with his mother.
