A young boy lives with his poor mother. His father died a long time ago. They lived in a kingdom led by a very wise king. Every afternoon, the boy played in the palace courtyard. Unable to buy toys, he only played with a mosquito tied to a thread.

While playing, he asked for permission to leave the mosquito in the palace. The King allowed. The mosquito was tied to the front post of the palace. The mosquito is no more. Near the stake, there was only one rooster belonging to the King.

The boy reported it to the king. The king gave the chicken as a substitute. As he played, the chicken pecked at the grain in the mortar belonging to the mother who was pounding the rice. The mother was angry and threw the chicken until it died.

The boy complained back to the King again. The king allowed him to take the queue (alu) instead. Because he still wanted to play, the boy sent the queue to the palace. The king told him to put it under a jackfruit tree. However, when the child returned, the queue was broken because of a large and ripe jackfruit.

The king allowed the boy to take the jackfruit. Unable to carry it, the King allowed the boy to place it near the door of the palace kitchen. The fragrance of the jackfruit was smelled by the King's daughter. He ate the jackfruit. The king just smiled. "I will replace your trumpet with my daughter" said the King.

The boy did not understand the King's intentions because he was a child. The king kept his promise. When the boy was an adult, he married the young man to his daughter.
