"YOUR HAIR?"
Before I answered what Kurt was surprised by, he got up and raised his gaze with a watery face. An expression I'd never seen before. Kurt, the flat-faced guy can change his expression at a time like this.
My jaw dropped when I realized that Kurt had run out of the alley with a shout to stop someone who was the object of his pursuit. I also got up and flicked the skirt at the front and back of the dust that stuck from the streets. I think the washing schedule should be advanced to today.
"The guy ran away." Kurt came back to me with a breath of breath from running without me knowing how far he was. "Aren't you papa?"
"Not pa-pa."
At once we both turned to my back because we suddenly heard the sound of the door moving, whether it was open or closed. I saw the pale-skinned man I feared had stepped into the caffe through the back door. But, since when was he in this alley? Wasn't he on duty at the front door to welcome customers? It's freaky.
"It turns out you're here. I was looking around on campus and deserved to not meet" Kurt said, massaging his forehead with his thumb and index finger. "Now want to go home?"
"Yes, I want to go home" I said awkwardly.
I'm still thinking about what Vin said that Kurt and I have nothing to do with. At the moment we are only in the PDKT phase and not dating. However, Kurt, without guilt, agreed to my plain question about the relationship I was referring to at the time. So, do I have to behave to pretend I don't know the truth?
"Do you want to stop by first?" ask Kurt who broke my mind.
"Where?"
"To my apartment. I made you something." While answering my question, Kurt started walking next to me.
Without saying much, I agreed to the invitation because I felt awkward. I guess now is not the time to talk about the truth in relationships. About three minutes, we reached an apartment that was farther from my apartment location, but closer than campus. When I entered Kurt's apartment room, my eyes could not blink because I found a room that was so simple but interesting.
The hallway that connects the exit with the room. Mamba-themed painted walls, three shelves are so large and full of books, a computer placed on a wooden table, a mattress and a round table in the middle of the room. It is more precisely called a studio because of its minimalistic and sufficient size.
"Just sit there" said Kurt, pointing to a small round table near the mattress and covered in a gray carpet. "I'll cook. My cooking must be more delicious than the caffe."
Yeah, I can't deny it. Before this, Kurt was the chef of the caffe. So, there is no need to deny the gastronomy. I think this guy is really versatile in all areas. Diluted brain ability and good looks above average. These are the ideal types of all women. It is fitting that I who used to love this guy to plan a love statement by Vin. Really ridiculous.
"It." In a short time, a plate of medium portion spaghetti had been served in front of me with an appetizing fragrance. "Please."
In fact, I just ate penne pasta in caffe. But it's fine. I can't refuse delicious food. At the very least, my stomach still leaves some room for this spaghetti in front of me. While bribing a few rolls of fork from the super-good spaghetti, I listened carefully to Kurt's words and tried to respond.
"Why did you cut your hair?" ask Kurt with a flat face.
I also swallowed the chewing spaghetti earlier. "You know those Vin fans?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Those who cut my hair a little. Rather than looking ugly, I'd rather just cut it," I continued calmly and bribed the spaghetti that was spilled with tomato sauce and a sprinkling of minced meat. "Devicious, huh?"
"Not really." Kurt smiled faintly and then got up from sitting next to me and changed positions to sit in the front seat of the computer. "I have business, just a minute."
To be honest, I was so curious about the books that were on the shelves of this room. So it looks colorful and captivates the eye. I immediately ate the spaghetti in a hurry and wiped my mouth with the tissue on the table.
"No need!" Suddenly, Kurt panicked and grabbed the empty plate from my hand. "Let me. I'll get you some water, too."
With a super innocent expression, I nodded and let Kurt go towards the kitchen with my dirty dishes. The super-craftsman guy.
Without thinking much, I also looked at the book on the shelf with amazed face. Some of them I took and it turns out that the average book is containing learning or encyclopedia. There are also old books about history or scientific theories that might brainwash the reader. My eyes squinted at the sight of a book so brightly colored among the other books. It was written in the title 'Our times' and without a second thought, I opened the book.
Apparently, the book I have in my hand is an album.
"Wah-wah, someone's fiddling with my bookshelf."
I turned to the origin of the voice and smiled broadly. "I'm looking around a little bit, can't I?"
"Yes, I can," replied the owner of the voice aka Kurt.
A family photo, a small child with glasses and wearing a model of toad jeans, a photo of babies and foreign children. In the last part, I saw a single photo filling a page where a short curly-haired little girl in a white dress was crying.
"That's you, remember?" said Kurt who suddenly aligned his head on my head in looking at the photo.
It turns out that the little girl is me.
"Just like now, like it makes no difference," Kurt continued, with his words adorned by a smile and a heavy breath. "Drink first, you didn't drink yet, did you?"
I held my hair without touching Kurt's words and handed me a glass of tea. I was small and now I am the same. It was no wonder, after all the little boy in the photo was me.
"Hey." I flinched and immediately smiled awkwardly when reprimanded by Kurt for not responding to his words earlier. Curse the glass offered by the man and sip the sweet tea made slowly until it runs out completely.
"There's another album?" I closed the album in my hand.
"So, just sit at the table. I'll get you the album you want" Kurt replied as he spread his eyes across his three bookshelves.
I followed his orders and sat down on the gray carpet and propped my head up with my right hand to wait for Kurt to bring me the album I asked for. For a while, three dusty and colorful albums had been located in front of me. Cheerfully, I opened the sheets one by one of the albums in showing so many photos of the little boy I knew was Kurt. Suddenly my hand stopped flipping the sheet when I saw a photo of a child reading with a study lamp. I was fixated not because of the photo, but because of the drowsiness that enveloped me suddenly.
In an instant, I wrapped both my hands on the album that was still open and then put my head on it. Really, I can't stand this drowsiness. So burdensome my eyelids and makes my body become weak that it feels like lying on a mattress.
"Hoam." I yawned without shame in front of Kurt. "I think I'm sleeping hard."
"Nothing." I heard the voice that defined Kurt had moved from his seat and walked away from me. I felt a cloth cover me warmly to make me feel super comfortable in closing my eyes. "Just sleep, I'll wake you up later."
"Thank you" I replied unconsciously.
In an instant, everything went dark and the sleep mode on me was activated.
