Deja Vu [ Lilian Ashley ]
6. Starting From the Beginning

LUCK. That's the right title to fill the beginning of my life today.

I should have admitted to this amnesia so that Kai would help me introduce and remember everything from the beginning. But yes, no, it's all the same.

We walked to a campus not far from my apartment. The atmosphere is not so crowded which is likely because it is still class hours. There are four buildings surrounding one square and one clock tower. Furthermore, Kai showed me that I majored in economics and occupied the second building.

"Nih, the club building is a hobby lo satronin. Elo was very active with the activities of the art club," said Kai while opening a door to the room that looks so full of crafts and quite messy.

What is that talent in my art? It's painting? Sculpt? The lettering?

"First in, you always show your abstract and ugly paintings." Oh my God, how dare Kai insult my efforts in painting! "But it's been a saucy for a long time. Look at the waterfall, it's an elo picture."

Kai pointed towards a realistic-looking painting board and in the lower corner was a signature. Is that really my painting? Absolutely fantastic!

"Hhh, what is this?" I poked my cheek with the tip of my index finger and found a red paint stain. Kai laughed loudly and it was no mistake that this was his work.

"Lo is anti-jailin, Ley! If I do this, you must be vengeful. Ehaha!" kai said by making a laugh like a loud volume denfan villain. Basic sucks. If one of my traits was revenge, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

I quickly poked a blue paint off the palette lying on the table and crossed Kai's cheeks before he realized my actions.

"Well, this war!" Kai challenged and instantly picked up some canvas.

Bad, I got attacked.

Kai and I cut each other out using old paint on some of the pallets lying around. We still have the self-awareness to stop and see the time that will be drained in vain. Kai grabbed a wet tissue from a small drawer by the door and wiped his hands and face clean. Not spared also me that he helped clean slowly and still accompanied by laughter. Really fun. After being satisfied to introduce the campus area, Kai took me to a large park not far from the campus. He said that we often go to the place while watching small children playing in the playground area. Am I a child lover?

"OK," said Kai as he moved from the long wooden bench we were sitting on together and twisted his body to face me who was still sitting. "All the memories we have are gone in Elo. So, let's repeat from the beginning."

He breathed a breath of freshness while I could only look at him in confusion.

"Gue Xu Kai Chen, don't mind my name being so chinese." Worth his eyes look a little narrow and his skin is as white as marble. "We're childhood friends and I've been shooting you many times since we went to high school. Finally two months ago just accepted." Unfortunately, it turned out that my old self was very cruel to her. "So, Ashley, who is so beautiful, will you be my girlfriend?" kai said in one breath. Very funny himself.

But I still think about the nightmare. "But ...,"

"Eits, no but-but. We were originally dating and should not be bothered. And ...," Kai cut my words and pulled out one hand and held it tightly. "We'll just go first, okay? Slowly you will get used to it. I'm kind of mean, but this is the best option."

I breathed heavily and smiled. Maybe I need Kai to live this alien life. So, I had to accept it even though it felt so hollow and confusing.

"Well, Ashley. Then" Kai pulled me up from the bench. "Elo prep work and start tomorrow can just menggampus again, okay? Because if you don't work, there's no point in resting in this amnesia."

What Kai said was true.

I nodded and walked away with Kai with friendly hands. If only there was no one, I would feel very sad and difficult in the face of this alienation.

After arriving at my apartment, I took a short break and Kai left me before giving me a message, "receive the task as a waiter, do not want to be ordered to cook or prepare a dish, yes. Just tell Vin. Okay bye."

Of course, the short message I received and followed until work began. I'm getting used to everything, thank God my co-workers are very friendly but my manager has a sensitive nature that can't see a single mistake. Oh, my God, I was shuddering about it.

"Speak in a soft tone!"

"All this will have an effect on our caffe assessment!"

"Don't relax, get to work!"

Truly human being is bossy, no wonder he has the title of manager. It seems like everyone here is used to the attitude of the manager to respond to him calmly.

"Hi," said the client with the gender of a guy to me who had entered the cafe.

"Welcome sir to Caffe Clair de lune." I greet the customer with a friendly smile.

The guy still looked at me for a moment without blinking with his eyes adorned with dark areas at the bottom and his gaze was so revealing a sadness. His pale white face was like a vampire and his appearance was like a contemporary teenager with a gray hoodie as well as earphones perched on his neck. Did I know him before? Finally he continued his path and sat on one of the benches until the other waiter greeted him with a menu book.

I wonder who he is.

Caffe was closed half an hour earlier than usual and all employees were gathered in front of the barista table in a neat line at the manager's behest.

"So, tomorrow is the time we tour the employees towards the southern village plateau. So, prepare yourself," said the Manager with authority who burst into the room.

We all yelled "yey" and looked at each other with excitement.

"Eight o'clock in the morning should be here. So, don't be late if you don't want to be left behind." The manager continued his announcement while improving the position of his horn-rimmed glasses.

"Sir, how many days are we on tour?" Sherly asked before raising her hand.

"That's only three days. You can go home now" replied the manager and left us first.

We all changed clothes and one by one left the cafe with a cheerful face to wait for tomorrow. This is my chance to familiarize myself with all the friends here.

"Gee, so bright your faces. What's up?" asked Kai who was staring at my face as it came out of the mouth of the alley.

"Tomorrow tour, bro. As always, you're coming, right?" River responded by emerging from behind me while embracing his bag by the shoulder.

"Ah, easy, I'll come along. Your manager, 'nor my friend, '" replied Kai with a pede. I didn't expect that the killer's manager could be friends with this humorous and rancid Kai. "Come, Ley! We're home."

We walked home to my apartment on the same road as two days ago. Just as I was standing at the traffic light that was displaying red, I became goosebumps as it reminded me of the stupid accident I had at that time.

From across the street, I could see a stranger. He was the customer of the cafe. A pale but sedu-looking face was looking at me. When a truck passed by in the blink of an eye, the mysterious man disappeared from my sight.

Where did he go, and who was he? Do I have to see him to ask if he knows me?
