Deja Vu [ Lilian Ashley ]

Deja Vu [ Lilian Ashley ]
42. The real lover

ZACK had come to deliver me in front of my apartment building and during the trip, he kept silent as if thinking of something.

I thanked him and said, "Is there anything that bothers you?"

His eyes that had been glancing to the left, were now looking at me with a bit of surprise. "Nothing."

"Then I'll go in. See you," I said as I began walking into the lobby.

"Wait ...." Suddenly my hand was grabbed by Zack who automatically made me stop stepping and look at him. "So far, something's been troubling my mind."

I was silent and waiting for his unconnected words.

"Your attitude towards me is like really having a strong intention to approach me. Although I understand what you've always said about me not remembering you, but ..."

"But what?" as I began to worry when I heard Zack's words earlier. "But it doesn't make sense?"

His eyes were fixed on me, just like when he wanted to run from me before. A gaze that implies anxiety and can transmit the feeling to anyone who is the object.

"I know, you don't have amnesia until it's impossible to forget the person you were once close to. But ..."

"But I've never been approached by anyone." Zack imitated me by interrupting at the same word. "You sure there's no wrong person?"

My smile was engraved wide on the lips. "No, I'm not wrong."

I can tell you why Zack wasn't approached by anyone. In the past, I was the one who approached him first just because I wanted to know the truth. Now not much different, I approached him but aimed to pull back what Zack wanted from the start. Especially if it's not our togetherness.

"Do you really want to be with me?" His eyes were rounded which gave a signal of surprise after hearing my sentence. That question is for sure he knows the answer.

My smile was too wide that my eyes were closed and said, "of course. That's my wish." We could not chat longer in front of the apartment, because the security guard could have reprimanded as a result of us blocking the entrance. I took Zack's hand off me and waved a little. "I'm going in first."

Just as my foot was stepping, again he made me stop. "Ah .. I ..."

In a split second, I waited until Zack managed to say, "I find it hard to say this. But, maybe I can grant your wish."

He doesn't want to look at me. Next to his hand, he rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward blanket.

"really?" ask me to put on a radiant face and approach Zack until our faces are only a few centi apart. "You want to be my girlfriend?"

Zack's mouth opened and he started to stutter after hearing my words. I know this is ridiculous, but isn't it faster, better? And also, there is no harm if the girls shoot first.

"I didn't mean to be like that." Zack stepped back once to keep his distance from me. Even though he looked misbehaved, his face was still depicted as flat and indifferent. "It doesn't feel weird to end up like this."

Feels weird to him. But for me, it was one of those happy moments.

"I assume that's the answer yes" I said as well as an element of coercion and overconfidence. I immediately thrust out a phone displaying my phone number to Zack.

"Taking me to save your number?" He turned his eyes towards me and I nodded. "All right."

I thought Zack would pull out his phone, then type my number and save it. However, he actually saw my phone screen at a glance, then said goodbye and left.

"You don't want to have my contacts?" I asked when Zack was just walking a few steps.

He looked over and his lips showed a small smile. "I've memorized your number, Ashley. Then, I can contact you via any device."

After that, he resumed his steps until it disappeared from my sight. No wonder, Zack used to be able to contact me continuously without having to ask for my number first. His initiative attitude is exemplary.

I walked into the apartment and straightened myself out. After that, I checked the phone and instantly got an unknown number.

Inbox || [Unknown Number ]: Save this number. I'm Zack.

I just typed in to reply, as soon as one message was sent again.

Inbox || [Unknown Number ]: Want to have dinner with me, tomorrow?

Sent: Why not just tonight at my apartment?

My message was answered in a split second.

Inbox || Zack: Cannot. I have extra work tonight. If you are hungry, wait another five minutes.

What is he doing these nights? What's more, I've never seen a night job in this town. Then I sat on the couch waiting for what was to come in the next five minutes.

TRINGS!

It's only been four minutes and my doorbell rings. I checked out the convex glass door, then saw a food deliveryman waiting for me. I opened the door and received a box of pizza and two drinks.

In the end, I enjoyed everything Zack had ordered while looking at our joint painting that I had displayed on the wall near the television. I was a little horrified when I saw the brown color of Zack's dried blood.

I finished three large pizza slices and continued with the fourth. I think I'm really hungry tonight.

CRINGS!

My phone rang and indicated there was a phone calling. When I looked, it was Zack's name that made me quick to answer.

"Call, Zack. Is your job done?" I greeted him directly connected by a question.

"Go to the balcony. That question will be answered by itself" replied Zack.

While carrying a pizza in my hand, I went to the balcony and looked directly at the beach area to get a guy who had flaming skin due to being too pale to shine around. He smiled at me and I held the pizza in my hand.

"Thank you for the pizza!" girang kataku.

Carving my smile only for a moment when I see someone who is no less pale than Zack. His long black hair, and flat face were staring at Zack's back with a glance from behind the tree.

I lifted my phone towards the girl and opened the camera to use the zoom feature. After seeing her face clearly, I let out a heavy sigh.

Rua Again.

"What's wrong? You're photographing me?" zack asked which confused me to answer. "Now don't, Ashley."

"No-no. I'm not fotomizing you." I hurriedly answered and thought about what reason I should give. Finally, I decided to change the subject. "Do you feel followed lately?"

Spontaneous Zack looked back, but Rua's whereabouts were gone. I shouldn't have asked that. Zack will hurt him without a second thought.

"Who do you mean?"

The question worries me a little. Do I have to be honest?

"So, I don't know for sure."

"What color is the dress?"

Maybe I should lie about this.

Rua wears a black hoodie, so I'll say, "white hoodie."

"Male or female?"

"Male." I'll answer all those questions with the reverse fact.

"All right, I'll take care of it later," said Zack. I shouldn't have to worry because he won't find Rua.
