Chapter 17 - The Journey to Beiming

Yuan Shi had Xiao Yan drag the corpse away secretly. Then he asked Qing'Er and Chun's maid to go to the main palace and wait in his room. Yuan Shi walked furiously towards the Empress mother's pavilion, barging in without greeting. The queen mother squinted sharply at Yuan Shi and immediately stood pointing her index finger at the stepson.

"Kneel in front of me! How dare you walk in without respecting your mother, is this all for the sake of the outcast queen who has now turned into that wild monster?" ask the queen mother with sharply rounded eyes.

Yuan Shi hinted at Xiao Yan to bring the corpse of the assassin earlier in and throw it right at the feet of the queen mother. Wu Zhao turned his head perfectly and began to misbehave.

"How dare the Queen mother pay a murderer to injure my queen!" furious Yuan Shi.

"Yuan Shi, you are simply outrageous! Accusing your mother without evidence is a heinous mistake, the palace elders must have punished you severely!" throw the queen mother with her high tone. "Now you ask this accomplice of yours to bring back the body and kneel for three days here thinking of your mistake!" continued.

Not long after Wu Zetian came over with an anxious face and saw Yuan Shi kneeling in front of the queen mother. "Surri, I beg you not to punish Brother Yuan. I will feel very sad, Brother Yuan must have a reason behind it." Wu Zetian joined the party beside the emperor. "Sister Yuan, apologize to the queen mother. Yuan Shi stood up and lowered his head without a word. "As for the queen mother," she replied then waltzed away and ignored Wu Zetian.

The queen mother and Wu Zetian exchanged glances while grinning. "Unfortunately, the assassin did not even slightly injure Qing' Er's skin."

"Right the queen mother, according to their report Qing' Er had a hidden martial art. We have to hire the highest-level hitmen" Wu Zetian suggested.

"Right, if the two of them start plotting to build a country together and start rebelling against me. We will definitely not have any loopholes to rule the empire. Do you really love that kid?" the Queen Mother asked flatly staring at Tian Er.

Wu Zetian looked nervous. "On Brother Yuan? The queen mother knew from childhood that she loved me the most than any other sister."

"Choose, want power or the boy?" The queen mother sipped her warm tea that her personal servant had just brought her.

"Of course I want more clan glory than anything else" Wu Zetian replied.

"Good, if he starts rebelling, we'll take both of them out" the Queen mother said, smiling with satisfaction.

Yuan Shi walked over as he pressed his sword then entered the main palace. Qing Er, who was waiting for Yuan Shi, changed her clothes in her nightgown and prepared to rest on the emperor's bed. After a while, Yuan Shi entered his room and Servant Chun had permission to leave from there leaving the two of them.

Qing Er sat on Yuan Shi's bed and noticed the man's irritated look. He got off the bed and walked towards Yuan Shi, gently touching Yuan Shi's cheeks for the man to turn towards him. "You seem very upset," Qing Er said.

Yuan Shi looked at Qing Er's palm that was injured from holding a knife to kill the previous person. Then the emperor grabbed Qing Er's hand and placed the palm close to the tip of her lips, gently tucking the wound. "I'm sorry about before," Yuan Shi said.

"Do you believe that I'm here to help you?" qing Er asked while looking up at Yuan Shi.

The man again looked at Qing' Er inside. "You're not my old Qing Er!" yuan Shi's remark made Qing Er turn her head.

"Because, Qing 'Erku used to be unwilling to interfere in anything let alone comfort me like now." Yuan Shi gently touched Qing' Er's cheek.

Liu Qing was impressed by Yuan Shi's words. Staring at him with sparkling eyes as if he had fallen in love. "I'm not him anymore, I will support you now and help you eradicate wild snakes even if you have to stand in a valley full of thorns!"

Yuan Shi chuckled. "You're really good at stealing my heart, I love you. Never stand in a valley full of thorns with me like before, go while you can because otherwise it would hurt me so much if you were hurt."

Qing Er raised her leg so that she reached Yuan Shi's lips and pressed the man's neck while fusing their lips together. Yuan Shi held onto Qing Er's soft waist and the split second of gentle unification turned into a passionate erotic action, a long night passed by the two.

A few days had passed and it was time for Emperor Yuan Shi to head to Beiming to see the harvest of his people. Wu Zetian had already boarded the emperor's carriage while Yuan Shi himself was still waiting for Qing Er so that he could see the woman safely riding in the carriage.

Yuan Shi gestured to Xiao Yan from a distance to continue watching the empress' horse carriage. But he also put Ji to escort Qing'Er's carriage, then he climbed into the horse carriage with Wu Zetian.

The start of the journey was quite smooth and there were no interruptions for Yuan Shi and Liu Qing, but precisely entering the border of Beiming the horse carriage were both separated on the forked road. Yuan Shi did not know of the incident yet, whereas Wu Zetian grinned as it was time for the hitmen to take action to kidnap Qing Er.

In order to distract Yuan Shi, the woman used all persuasions on the emperor even flirting with him blatantly. Touching the emperor's chest and cornering the man to the seat inside the horse carriage. "The emperor must be tired, do you want to drink or eat fruit?"

"No need, how can I swallow if I don't know how my empress is doing" Yuan Shi replied as he leaned back.

"Sister Yuan doesn't need to overdo the empress' horse carriage still on the back of our carriage, so there's no need to worry too much!" Wu Zetian again teased Yuan Shi and leaned his head against the man's shoulder.

In another state, Qing Er felt a strange sense when her horse carriage came to a halt halfway through. General Ji seemed surprised when he was surrounded by several assassins who came so much. They all used glittering swords, from their movements it was clear how professional they were especially when they started attacking.

Xiao Yan who was watching from a distance saw the distress that was befalling the queen so he immediately joined Ji. Xiao Yan wore a mask covering half his face, then swiftly took out the sword he had. Ji and and Xiao Yan started attacking some of those people.

"Queen, how is this?" waiter Chun asked in a panic.

"Just calm down, Ji and Xiao Yan can definitely handle it!" qing Er replied casually.

However, Waiter Chun is still made to panic as the hitman comes in more and more sadistically attacking the two men outside the carriage. Nemo's system appeared to look at the commotion and turned towards Qing'Er in surprise.

"Miss Su, don't you intend to help?" ask Nemo.

"Curtain, everything I do! Then what's your job? Let it go first!" answer Qing Er.

Not long after the swaying of Queen Liu Qing's carriage, Chun's servant grew increasingly panicked and feared that one of the assassins might harm her. "Servant Chun, I will go out against them you look for an opportunity to escape and report to the emperor!"

"But-But, the servant empress cannot leave you against them!" waiter Chun.

Not long ago a black-clad man in his all-black clothes poked his head into Qing' Er's horse carriage, instantly a deadly kick floated towards the man's face until he slammed into the middle of General Ji and Xiao Yan. The two men widened when they saw Qing Er with such a powerful aura stepping outside and advancing closer to them.

A sword gleamed out from his right hand and a whip in his left. "Servant Chun, save yourself and follow my orders!"

"Okay, Your Majesty." Chun's servant ran away in a hurry to get away from the commotion there and quickly caught up with the emperor's carriage.

Qing Er waved her lash at one of the assassins who was about to swing her sword towards Xiao Yan. The whip was precisely wrapped around the killer's neck then Liu Qing easily pulled the man and instantly slashed his stomach mercilessly.

General Ji while fighting the assassins occasionally looked at Qing Er in surprise. Now, the three of them stood on equal footing with Qing Er who was between the two. "Xiao Yan, go tell the emperor!"

"Queen Qing, I can't possibly dare to leave you!" said Xiao Yan.

Qing Er glanced sharply. "this is an order!" the door firmly.

"Okay, Your Majesty." Xiao Yan ran away at lightning speed following the emperor's horse carriage.

While General Ji and Qing'Er still turned their backs on each other and fought top-tier hitmen with all their might. "Nemo, I need a gunpowder ball now!" pinta Qing' Er on standby.
