Chapter 49 - The declaration of love

In Yuan Shi's embrace, Su Mian's gaze widened and his body instantly froze. However, his consciousness appeared as the person behind Yuan Shi was about to unsheatheathe a sword at the two of them.

"Damn it, how dare you!" su Mian growled at the man behind Yuan Shi who he then directly aimed with his rifle.

However, the shot Su Mian had launched still did not make Yuan Shi change his position. "Emperor, you are so impulsive, look where we are!"

Yuan Shi smirked subtly then stroked his palm onto the tip of Su Mian's head. "Finally, you start protesting again."

"I brought one crate of weapons, give it to the others!" pinta Su Mian, when Yun Shan had given Yuan Shi's troops a flat weapon they did not hesitate to directly attack without fear.

Yuan Shi furrowed his brows as he asked. "Can you show me again how to use it?"

Su Mian chuckled softly then pointed the long shotgun towards the front and aimed at the enemy who was at a distance of ten meters. His shot was again on target, as state secret agent Su Mian became the most professional member in using his weapon let alone a rifle. He always got top rank every time he practiced.

Yuan Shi with a look of admiration began to follow the same way as Su Mian, in one try Yuan Shi managed to hit the enemy who now many are running to hide behind the trees to avoid gunfire. Some have fled away from the place.

When they managed to push back the opponent, Yuan Shi turned his attention to Su Mian, the man walked over and dropped the rifle he was holding then re-embraced Su Mian. "Thank you!" he said with a smile on his face.

"Can you stop hugging me?" Su Mian let out a long sigh as if wanting to release Yuan Shi's embrace.

"Miss, you're selling too expensive. Obviously you also miss the emperor very much!" Nemo who was on Yun Shan's shoulder that was clearly not seen by anyone began to comment on Su Mian's indifference.

"Prince Beiming, can you take care of the wounded, but before that we need to talk. Qing Er please help the chief to evacuate the victims!" Yuan Shi gestured to Yun Shan then the man replied with a nod.

Passing through the fairly dense grass, Yuan Shi walked ahead of Yun Shan who knew what his emperor was about to talk about. "What's going on? How did he get back? What about Qing Er?"

"We have found the prime minister and the family, but when we were about to go outside Her Majesty the Queen was hit by the ruins of the exploded gunpowder ball" Yun Shan explained with a sorry look.

Yuan Shi furrowed his brows, his eyes narrowed sharply then turned his head back towards Yun Shan. "Then, how did he get back? Where's Qing 'Er?"

"Son doesn't understand, isn't it time for you to speak honestly with each other?" prince Beiming.

Yuan Shi nodded meaningfully. "You're right, I'll talk to him tonight."

Seeing some wounded people being helped by Qing'Er and the others, the emperor returned with Yun Shan. From a distance Yuan Shi stared at Su Mian's soul which was increasingly clearly visible to both of his eyeballs. However, his heart was certainly thinking of Qing Er's soul who was somewhere. Tonight, he was determined to question everything clearly to Su Mian. Everything without exception.

After making a large tent in the former battle, Su Mian and the others began to rest. Inside the empress' tent, Qing Er, now spirited Su Mian, took off her bloodstained clothes. Chun's butler has arrived after helping to take care of some of the injured. "Your Majesty, how are you?" ask the woman in a panic.

"I'm fine, what about the pills I gave you to Yun Shan?" Qing Er turned her back to Chun's servant, then extended her hand to the woman to give her a change of clothes.

"Servant Chun, did they fully recover after taking the pill?" ask Qing Er again.

"What did Qing 'Er mean?" yuan shi's heavy voice left Qing 'Er stunned, she spontaneously bit her lower lip in nervousness. He is not ready if he has to explain everything now even he does not dare to just look back.

"My queen?" continued Yuan Shi.

"Emperor surprises me, none of it is just a medicinal pill I have." Qing Er turned around then smiled nervously and did not dare to look into the emperor's eyes.

"Since when did Qing 'Erku have the talent of alchemy?" Yuan Shi gently touched Qing' Er's cheek so as to make the woman shudder.

"Of course I did it without your knowledge," Su Mian's alibi certainly made Yuan Shi smile. This could be their conversation starter to get to know each other further.

"I order you to tell me the truth, what happened? Why are you hurt? Why are you carrying a foreign object that we don't even have?" Yuan Shi walked closer towards Qing Er then stretched his hand towards the woman's waist without breaking his gaze from Su Mian's red eyes.

"You clearly already know, I'm just a foreign soul who got the mission to help Qing 'Er." Su Mian looked back at Yuan Shi's gaze. "I'm from the future, carrying out this mission is the only way to get me back to the future" he continued.

"Are you going again?" Yuan Shi was silent for a moment then snorted softly.

"Of course, this isn't my world not my life." Su Mian clasped his hands on Yuan Shi's shoulders. "Emperor need not worry, when this mission is completed. Qing 'Your husband will come back and take care of this baby." Su Mian smiled faintly, but her heart certainly felt the opposite.

Yuan Shi stared at Su Mian's face intently. "A very beautiful eyeball, didn't you think to accompany me here?"

Su Mian chuckled slightly then shook her head. "How can I? My only duty is to help Queen Qing return in her prime and return. There is no place for me here, but if you want to see me again then promise me that you will be reborn into the Yuan Shi I know."

Yuan Shi gently stroked the cheek of Su Mian who was now fully present in his view. "I'll probably be reborn into a shrimp."

A satisfied laugh came out from Su Mian's mouth. "Then I'll look for you to the end of the ocean."

"I didn't expect you to be able to speak this sweet, Su Mian." This was the first time the name came out of Yuan Shi's mouth, making Su Mian duck and hold back the cries that he could either weave or not.

"Please promise, you'll take care of this baby and love Queen Qing 'Er as you should." Su Mian stared at Yuan Shi for a while until the man replied.

"I don't know, why are you here if you have to go again?" ask Yuan Shi.

"I feel guilty for leaving you without an honest word from me, even leaving without saying goodbye. I just want you to know, Su Mian really likes Yuan Shi. This feeling shouldn't exist, but it's already happening." Su Mian smilingly looked at Yuan Shi behind his sadness.

Yuan Shi hugged Su Mian tightly before accepting the fact that they could not be together. "I love you, really."
