Chapter 37 - Farewell

Amidst the chaos engulfing Qianqing Palace, Su Mian who was still trapped in the dimension of space and time felt even more unsettled. As he tries to convince himself to make the toughest decision and agree to his return with Nemo to the future. A red signal flashed on the monitor screen that Nemo showed him.

Su Mian looked in surprise at Nemo, this must be a bad sign. "Miss, the system determining the outcome of the mission has failed!"

Su Mian widened, trapped in the dimension of space and time could neither return to the future nor return to Qing Er's body making him run out of sense. If the system had determined the outcome and at the end of the mission failed, Su Mian's soul could no longer be reincarnated back into the future. Nemo and Su Mian were like lost hope, only to wait for the time of soul destruction and could do nothing in that dimension. "How is that possible?" ask Su Mian.

Under other conditions, Qing Er who had just arrived at the prime minister's residence stared at every corner of the house with perfectly rounded eyes. Apparently the prime minister's residence has been ravaged even no form at all, he searched all his family members but none were found. Even the stamp he was looking for disappeared, Qing Er squealed and clenched her fist on the floor, before long Ji came to calm him down.

"I'm sure it was Yuan Shi, '" growled Qing Er.

"Then, what should we do?" ji asked as he stroked Qing Er's hand.

"Go back to the palace and I'll kill him myself!" firmly Qing Er while standing up and gathering her determination.

Ji felt objected to Qing' Er's decision, as they had managed to secretly venture out of the palace to get away from Yuan Shi. When they return, there will be no forgiveness for them. However, Qing Er remained steadfast with her careless desire. Finally, Ji reluctantly granted Qing Er's wish to return to the palace.

In the meeting hall, Yuan Shi was already sitting on his throne of majesty. With a serious and cold look, he patiently waited for officials to protest about what Qing Er did.

"The emperor has misjudged people, we are deeply insulted at being betrayed by the queen herself" one of the officials said.

"Qing's queen must be immediately arrested and punished!" the other word.

"Of course, this is an insult to the Xia Dynasty!"

"Can't you just shut up for a second?" Yuan Shi stood up then stared at the made-up commotion by the officials from the Wu Clan.

"To be spared the humiliation, it would be nice for His Majesty the Emperor to immediately remove the title of empress from that selfless woman and give it to the emperor's favorite concubine, Wu Zetian!" call the royal advisor.

"It's not that easy, even though he has injured me I never really know what the reason behind it is" Yuan Shi said still protecting Qing Er.

"The emperor has been blinded by love, will not be able to hear the advice of officials or elders!" The Queen Mother breezed in recklessly then climbed the emperor's throne and stood beside Yuan Shi.

"The foolish king consumed by love should not be followed, the emperor's judgment is very bad or even unfair to the people" the Queen Mother continued. "If the emperor still wants to gain our trust, then follow our wishes, this is all for the sake of the emergency situation we are in."

Yuan Shi widened, he did not expect Qing Er to return as this could be dangerous for her. However, he sees Ji valiantly faithful behind Qing' Er accompanying.

"How dare you traitorous queen set foot in the palace!" furious mother suri. "Soldier! Drag them to the dungeon!" continued.

"I'll kill you Yuan Shi, tell me where my father and mother and brother are now!" Qing Er raised her sword towards Yuan Shi who was still standing on her throne.

"I don't understand what you mean," Yuan Shi said with a puzzled eyebrow frown.

"Quite your bullshit! I know you threatened me with my family, you deliberately did it to catch me!" Qing Er with overflowing anger stared intently at Yuan Shi.

Not long after, Xiao Yan came beside the emperor and gave a message regarding the prime minister. The man carefully listened to the news whispered by Xiao. As it turns out, the prime minister's residence has been attacked after news of the Qing'Er rebellion broke out. Yuan Shi's main guess is the queen mother to snatch the stamp held by the prime minister, of course, the Queen Mother will do just that. Hence, he blatantly threatened Emperor Yuan Shi's throne.

"Qing' Er, this is a misunderstanding. Listen to me first!" yuan Shi.

"Look! The Emperor had been blinded by love, even when he saw this rebel before him he still did not impose any punishment!" furious Queen Mother.

"Suri's mother please don't interfere!" firmly Yuan Shi.

"If you don't want to punish her then I will punish this demonic woman myself!" Ibu Suri said as she gestured to the archer from a distance.

General Ji who saw some people besieging Qing Er immediately hugged the woman and protected her from the arrows. Yuan Shi only widened when five arrows struck Ji's back against Qing Er. Not long after that he deployed his army led by Xiao Yan to dispel the Empress Dowager soldiers.

Qing Er felt Ji's weight gain on her body, she then looked back and found the man with a sweet smile on his face. "Ji, I'm sorry!"

Qing Er persisted while unable to withstand Ji's increasingly weakened body weight. "General Ji, please hold on! You shouldn't protect me like this, you can't sacrifice yourself!"

Tears could no longer be held back from Qing Er's eyes while some officials simply watched what was going on without the slightest empathy. Xiao Yan directly led the Empress Dowager out according to the emperor's orders, while Yuan Shi stared at the grief of the two people he had always blocked his love. He was unable to even step and stare at the face of his friend Ji who was in critical condition. "Tabib, call the palace healer!" the Pinta Yuan Shi.

"Ji, if it's going to end like this I better bury that dream! Seeing you live a healthy life beside me is much better than seeing you leave because of my carelessness. Please, hangin!" Qing Er cried sobbing.

While Ji's condition began to weaken, his gaze even began to blur but he still displayed his best smile on Qing Er. "Seeing you keep your love for me more beautiful and that's enough for me, I love you Qing' Er."
