The shock began to fade and my strength moved within me. If I can hold it for a little longer, until my ability recovers, then I might be able to be free. However, I realized that I was unlucky, when I saw the same guard lifting an electric gun over his head and lowering it again. I prepared my body for the blow even though I knew it would not change the outcome. But it never came.
Sparks lit up dark and suddenly the weapon snatched the grip of my persecutors. The wand spun rapidly through the air and as it moved downwards, Chen caught it with one hand of outreach over his head.
The electricity from the weapon spread to his arm and pierced through his body in waves of blue luster. Instantly an evil smile changed his face while he absorbed the currents from the tazer.
He is now flocking and you can see the excitement in his body language. Confidence seeped out of his stance and the guards also noticed him. Trying to deal with the new threat and deciding that I was no longer lethal, some stood to take defensive positions.
Chen's eyes gleamed with strength as he moved forward fearlessly. The nearest guard, lunged towards him but he was ready. Quickly dodging the attack, Chen hit the man's chest with a flat palm, electrocuting him with a high voltage. The force of the punch made the man retreat across the room before he landed on the ground involuntarily.
Another guard advanced quickly and Chen raised the stick to give backhand on the man's face. With a hard blow I was not surprised when the guard immediately fell to the ground, knocked out.
He skillfully turned the stick in midair, reversing the direction of his attack as he heard someone approaching from behind. Attacking the guard in the stomach, he doubled in pain and lost his balance as Chen easily rubbed his legs out from underneath.
Turning on the tazer, he swung it at every threat, right on target. She is graceful yet she has the confidence that gives her movement personality.
He never rushed over, took his time and let his opponent approach him first. He made use of the stick with certainty, twisted it between his fingers and attacked the opponent with deadly force, displaying his training and impressive proficiency.
I realized that Chen was conserving power supply by mainly using weapons to advance, with high kicks or punches in between. He was already thinking ahead because depleting our strength this early was not a smart move.
Then in battle, it will make a big difference because that is when we will be tired and most need to rely on our abilities. There are still many battles to be fought and if we win, we need more than just our strength. We have to stay sharp and outsmart them.
This news made me fight harder against the people who held me back, but it was of little use. I can't possibly defeat the eight guards who have secured me to the ground. Yes, I am strong but I am not the Hulk.
Although, now that some time had passed, I felt even more excited as the embers lit up inside me. My strength is almost restored! All I need is a little more time and I'll be good to go again.
That high-voltage shock had struck me, easily turning off the fire, but now my patience was running low. I wanted to fight and was too frustrated to have to watch as the battle continued to go on while I was completely useless.
As more guards ran forward, in an attempt to stop Chen, he met them punch after punch and they all fell down like flies. I wasn't surprised to see him sweating from exertion as he might have taken out over thirty guards. And now, there was only one line of men left between us.
Instead of the hand-to-hand fight he had focused on earlier, the lightning shot from his hand towards the body mass in front of him. Immediately, the last wave of guards slumped to the ground in a pile.
Wow, that's too easy and too fast. After seeing Chen's last attack, I realized a lot of time had been wasted and I joked, "maybe you should have just done that from the start."
"Shut up" Chen murmured softly and placed both hands on his knees, trying to regain his composure. He raised his finger cue to give her a moment and I laughed at the ridiculous situation.
This moment is too real. Before, I had not fought long enough so my energy level was still good but seeing Chen drained was a reality check. Even though we were faster, stronger and had better stamina, we were still tired like humans.
It's strange to actually watch because in a movie, they only show action scenes. You never see the reality of the situation, where people are really out of breath but I guess this is not fiction which means things usually suck up more.
