(MM&GL) CHAPTER 29. Why Not You?

Devan came home in a shirt that was half wet. He entered the room followed by Ken. His emotions were very visible from the look on his face, he even directly tore his own clothes and threw them in any direction.

Not satisfied to vent his anger, Devan also kicked his workbench upside down and the contents scattered.

BRAKKKKKKKKKK!

"Baji ngan!" as if Devan was shouting loudly.

"Who's that cop? The insolent! How dare he trouble me." Devan rampaged by throwing anything he could reach.

Just this time Devan felt humiliated as much as his dirty clothes and he was running around avoiding the police. Devan will definitely slaughter the family of the police later if he acts beyond his limits.

Ken immediately asked for his tablet which was brought by his other men. He quickly investigates Rendra's data, the new cop blatantly raising the war flag on Devan.

"His name is Rendra Adiyasa, he's a new member of the drug satras" Ken said reading the data on Rendra.

"It doesn't matter who that little wedge is right now. I just need you to take care of Mega, get her out of the demon's place," Devan's sergeant threw her body hard on the couch, took her cigarette and lit her up.

Damn it, why would he miss something like this? The place was obviously very secretive, but why did the policemen know where he was?

"Who shot that?" devan asked, looking at Ken intently.

Ken thinned his lips, he lowered his head in fear of seeing Devan's eyes.

"Are you?" ask Devan again.

"Not me." Ken shook his head slowly. "But ... Miss Mega who shot, sir."

Devan cursed while pulling his own hair. He smoked his cigarette deeply to gain control of himself. Who would have thought if Joana was the one who would shoot so that it caused a commotion.

"I think Miss Mega deliberately did it so you could leave" Ken said trying to make sense of the situation he was in when he saved Devan.

Devan grabbed her hair more and more, he remembered Joana's very strong hand grip earlier. Highlight her terrified eyes, as well as her last words that Devan remembered so much.

Ken grimaced, but he showed no pain. He just nodded obediently to Devan. The man is used to this if there is a big problem.

Devan flicked his hand, asking Ken to leave. He took his cigarette back and enjoyed his cigarette while looking at the darkness of the night from the glass window of his enormous room.

'Dev! You're the most selfish person I've ever met. You force someone to love you, but you never understand what love is!'

'I'm sick of it, Dev! I'm sick of it because I keep having to understand you. Just once, give me the freedom to be myself. I need freedom!'

'We are getting married, how can a woman who is getting married be free to roam everywhere with another man? You think this is a joke?'

'Why not? Even he who understands me better, knows how I am and understands my pain! Just him, Dev!'

'Even a strong piece of iron will be destroyed by its own rust.'

Devan recalls saying that Mega said two years ago that they had a big fight because Devan was very angry when he found out Mega went with Felix.

At first Devan just considered all that natural because as long as he had no Felix to guard Mega. But the longer it turns out they are ....

'If you love me, then love me as me. No one else, we are not the same person.'

"Joanna." Devan immediately regained consciousness as soon as he remembered Joana's words as he expressed his feelings.

A photo where he and Mega smiled very loosely on the day of their high school graduation. But the picture was torn because there was Felix next to him.

'If you love me, then love me as me.'

Devan gripped the photo tightly and walked out of the room. Find a quiet place and throw the photo there. He took the match and burned the photo.

Devan observed the photo until it completely burned out. I don't know what Devan was thinking at the time, he just wanted to do what he should have done for a long time.

Joana looked at Rendra with an expression of fear. Joana may have been very mean, but she's only been dealing with the police for the first time. Even worse, he was arrested for reasons he did not know.

"I will help you" said Rendra extending his hand to Joana.

Joana shook her head softly, instead holding on to the table to get up and sit on the chair. This leg seems to have changed a lot even though it has not been able to walk completely.

Rendra hissed slowly, he immediately sat in front of Joana back. Soon a senior policeman joined the interrogation room.

"Your name written here is Mega Deya Anastasya. Devandra Dawson's wife, do you want to deny it?" ask Rendra while showing data about Joana.

Joana read it, she lowered her fingers with a feeling of dread. A little unexpected if Devan will change identity also to Mega.

"Well, if you still don't want to confess. Then what about this?" Rendra then shows a second photo that is a photo of Devan's gun that was used by Joana shooting.

"This gun was found at the scene, more precisely near you. Now what reason would you say?" Rendra immediately cornered Joana with the evidence and the senior police officer watched Joana's movements immediately stiffened.

Joana gulped her saliva rough, afraid of course if she had to admit about the gun because she was the one who shot. But what reason should he make?

"Just say it. We can give you protection if you're afraid Devan will punish you if you open your mouth" the senior police officer said.

"What am I supposed to say? I do know Devan, but I don't know about drug trafficking and the like" Joana said, explaining that she only knew.

"Can you be cooperative, Miss? It would sound strange if someone breaks up married without knowing who the future husband is. Or do you want to be a filial wife by hiding her husband's rottenness?" sergeant Rendra is getting sick of seeing Joana who he thinks is very drama.

Joana glanced at Rendra annoyed. "I said before, my name is Joana. And I'm not Devan's wife" Joana said.

"Then what about the shot? The weapon is definitely not ours and is not manufactured here. Can you explain it, Miss Joana?" Rendra deliberately suppresses the word Joana because he was really upset with Joana's pretense.

"What should I explain again? I don't know, you guys just caught me and didn't give me a chance. How can I shoot? And you're a cop, I'm just a lame woman, how could I possibly carry a gun?" joana started using her cunning in order to evade, crying now would be useless.

Rendra wanted to open her mouth, but her phone rang making her undo her intentions. He took his phone and picked it up immediately.

"Yes?" Sahut Rendra listened carefully to what the caller said.

Rendra's face looked fickle, between angry, shocked and also looks unacceptable. Several times he nodded slowly and ruffled his hair. After that, he turned off his phone.

Rendra looked at Joana with an unenclosed vexation.

"You!" Rendra seemed like he wanted to say something, he pointed his index finger at Joana making the woman a little surprised and immediately retreated.

However, before Rendra said anything, the door of the room opened making the three people in the room surprised.

"Felix?"

Joana herself was surprised, she was already very happy because Devan came and would save her. But suddenly his heart was disappointed when he saw the figure of someone else.

'Why not you?'
