Mr. Dimitri's Toy
The Past of Lazarus

Gladys drove lunch into my room with a friendly smile. It was kind of scary to see him so good to me, like there was a plan he was devising in his mind.

“Chloe, as requested by Mr. Dimitri, now you can eat this luxury food.”

Gladys placed a tray on the table, lined with roasted chicken with vegetables, colorful fruit and apple juice. Seeing him makes me want to vomit.

“I don't taste, you just eat, Gladys.”

Gladys widened her eyes, “Serious? You need energy to escape, Chloe. Don't forget after eating down, I'll wait for you.”

True also said Gladys, if I want to leave here, I have to gather energy. In an instant, I devoured my lunch to the end and rushed down to the kitchen with a tray in my hand.

Fortunately there was no one in the deserted hall and Gladys was already waiting for me with a courier. The tall man nodded his head at me.

“Chloe, he'll take you out of here. You must cross the neighboring kingdom before sunset. Otherwise, Mr. Dimitri would have been able to catch up to you,” whispered Gladys.

He tied a shawl to my head and I slipped in between the big bamboo barrels that were inside his carriage.

“May you succeed, Chloe,” Gladys said before closing the brown tarp over my head.

I waited for a while then the horse carriage slowly moved forward. I could hear the sound of the castle guards opening the gate, I held my breath.

Then when the gate sounded closed, I let out a long sigh.

I made it out of Master Dimitri's castle!!

My body aches because I have to curl up in a narrow place, my legs are tingling but all I hold back to be able to run from the grasp of Mr. Dimitri.

I fell asleep in the car when it suddenly stopped, with my heart racing, someone lifted the tarp up.

There was a man I didn't know his face, he had long hair to his shoulder and his eyes were silver.

“You, Chloe waitress in castle D’Arcy?”

I did not answer him immediately because I doubt whether this person is Mr. Dimitri's errand or not.

“Come out, you're safe here.”

Since I didn't hear any sound, I got out of the carriage. My legs were limp and I almost fell, but the foreign man's hand held me.

The sky was dark, there was only the light of the moon and stars shining. It seemed like we were in the middle of the forest, because it was just a tree around and an old hut.

“Who are you?” ask me with a hoarse voice.

“You don't need to know who I am, but now you're safe from Dimitri.”

I squinted my eyes, “Why are you so kind to help me, sir?”

“What's with your voice? Sounds like you hoarse.”

Then there was the sound of the door being opened from behind, “Mana may be my brother making a sound, Lazarus. She's mute.”

The voice is no longer foreign. I grew up with my sister's voice. I turned my back and looked at the girl.

“Sierra..”.

Sierra is as surprised as I am, “K-you can talk? Why can you, Chloe? Who healed you?”

If Sierra can be here, then the man beside me is.

“Lazarus!”

Slowly, I took a few steps back when I saw a smile on his face. Those silver eyes glittered.

“Hello, Chloe Isabel. I heard Dimitri really likes you. It even makes you his toy and shows his affection in front of others. I never knew Dimitri would like a girl with an ordinary face like you.”

Lazarus walked slowly towards me, my back hit the chariot and I saw that the courier who was driving me was gone.

“Oh, he's just a paid courier. I killed him already. Don't be afraid, Chloe. You will only be our hostage because you are a precious person.”

She caught my chin with her cold hands, “Little gray, toy Dimitri.”

It must be Sierra who told Lazarus everything!

“You are wrong, I am worth nothing in the eyes of Mr. Dimitri.”

But the child in my womb that could put you in danger, Lazarus! Dimitri will not remain silent. He must have known that I disappeared and was looking for me right now.

“Wait, wait. Why can my mute sister talk?” ask Sierra confused.

“The story is long, Sierra. So this is the man you said would make you a mistress... Uhm, Mrs Starfart?”

“Mrs Stafford!” sizzle Sierra.

“Oh yes sorry, Mrs Stafford. I have to congratulate you on your wedding.”

Lazarus laughs, “Mrs Stafford? Don't be-there's you Sierra. I only used you to take revenge on Dimitri. But you failed. You no longer mean anything to me.”

Sierra delicates, “What? I've given you everything you want, Mr Lorenzo!! You can't just dump me!”

“Ribut. If I say you don't mean anymore yes already, you leave here immediately.” said Lazarus casually.

“You can't do your best, sir! Where's your promise to marry me?” Sierra shed tears.

“Come.”

Sierra's face immediately turned cheerful, “You must be kidding right sir?” he stepped towards us.

Lazarus shoved the nape of Sierra's neck and lowered his head, I could see Sierra's shocked face as Lazarus drank his blood. But that shocked expression was replaced with a passionate face and he let out a strong moan, no matter I was beside them.

I was disgusted and wondered if I was also expressing that way when Mr. Dimitri drank my blood.

“Ahh, sir. We'd better go to the room..” said Sierra writhing spoiled around Lazarus' neck.

“Thank you, Sierra. I just want to drink your blood one last time. You will forget all the events that concern me, you will return to your home now.”

SNAP OUT!

With a blank look, Sierra began to move towards the darkness.

“Wait! You can't let Sierra walk in the woods like this alone.

I was about to catch up with Sierra, she's just a girl who was dumped after being played by vampires. I understand and feel sorry for my stepbrother.

“You can't go anywhere. I will make him miserable as a form of my revenge.” Lazarus prevented me and grasped my arm tightly.

“I told you, you misunderstood! I didn't mean anything to him.”

“Really? We'll see tonight he comes or not.”

Lazarus pulled me into the old hut, there was only a mattress, a dining table and a small kitchen there. There is also a medium sized dog cage.

“I don't want to control your mind just yet, because I don't like it if you're too submissive. So tell you what, you choose between sitting here sweet or you sitting in the cage.”

Lazarus pointed to the iron cage. I was excited just by imagining myself in there. So I decided to shut up and sit at the table.

“So, how can you be a Dimitri toy?”

“I was about to kill him but got caught. What is your grudge against him?”

Lazarus was silent for a while then he said with anger, “He has killed my fiancee! Charlotte, she's the prettiest vampire in the world. Nothing beats her beauty and ingenuity. We were almost married when Dimitri.”.

“What does he do?” my whiskey.

Lazarus kicked the wooden chair in front of him, “Si bastard Dimitri.. He killed Charlotte with cold hands, I couldn't save her.”.

I frowned, “Don't vampires not die?”

“He slashed the head of the woman I love and burned it! I still remember exactly what happened 199 years ago and this pain is still the same.”

I could see the face of Lazarus holding grudges and sorrows.

“I think vampires have no feelings, they cannot love others because ordinary humans are only food for them.”

“Charlotte-ku different. She is indeed an ordinary human, but I fell in love with her and I turned her into a vampire!”

I flinched, it never occurred to me that vampires could turn humans into the same as them.

“I told you, Charlotte is different. Her blood is special to me and only she is a woman who can give birth to my son.”

I almost jumped out of my seat, but I held back. Lazarus can't know that I'm pregnant with Mr Dimitri's son!! He's gonna kill this kid!

I don't know from where the possessive nature that suddenly possessed me, when last night I was the one who wanted to harm the baby in my own womb.

But now I put my hand on my stomach, afraid that something might happen to her.

“Charlotte can give birth to your child? How can?” I pretended to be stupid.

“This event is very rare. But Charlotte chose not to give birth to a child into this world, she wanted to live together with me forever.”

“It is tragic that you have to live in eternity, forever thinking only of women who have died and cannot return.”.

In my mind, I was thinking what Dimitri would do if one day I left this world.

Will he remember me forever? As a servant who planned to kill him or a woman who had given him a child?

[Flashback Gladys]

Gladys stared at the horse carriage galloping away slowly, exiting the front gate unhindered and disappearing from his sight as the gate closed.

A few days ago while going to the market to buy some necessities, an unknown man approached her and gave her money to eliminate Chloe. Gladys unhesitatingly accepted the man's offer.

Goodbye, ja*lang girl. You can't bother Ulrich anymore, and Ulrich will only see me. You also do not need to be high-hearted because Mr. Dimitri chose you!

Gladys smiled in satisfaction and patted both hands then re-entered the castle, getting ready to do his work while whistling softly. His heart was overjoyed because his plan had succeeded.
