“The rule is who first goes out of the arena line means he falls. Second, you cannot kill your opponent. This is not a fight of life and death because it can be critical if one of you dies.”
After Edric finished giving the rules in the fight of the Destroyer and the God of Death, he stepped back into the pavilion tent to sit down with King Azov.
The drums of war were finished and the atmosphere was suddenly silent. All eyes were on the two men facing each other in the middle of the arena.
Chloe pulled her left leg back, her right hand was already coiled in her sword grip. ‘Thunder’ is the name he gave to his first sword. Thunder is made of meteor rock and silver plated.
He was already in a precarious position but his opponent just stood there. Even so Chloe knew her black eyes were focused and paying attention. They were both waiting for who would attack first.
He opened his mouth and said, “You sure you want to fight with your armor? If I win, you must show your true self.”
Only in your dreams!
Chloe drew her sword and advanced first opening the fight.
CLANGS!
Their swords clashed so closely, Chloe didn't even get to see her draw her sword.
Dimitri noticed the way the God of Death was giving attacks after consecutive attacks towards him. Surprisingly, by wearing a full suit of armor he was able to move so quickly. It was as if his body was extremely light and unencumbered.
Dimitri was too focused on seeing the body of this little man move to draw out his sword and was unaware that he was only a step away from the fighting arena.
He lowered his head as the sword slash nearly slashed his neck, and he countered each swing of his sword until they returned to the center of the arena. There seems to be no sign yet that the fight will be over.
King Azov, sitting down, enjoying his red wine and being fanned by two ladies-in-waiting, said to Edric.
“Newly this time the God of Death got a comparable opponent. Too bad Dimitri D’Arcy is not my soldier.”
Edric glanced at his king, “What war commander have I chosen for you is not enough, Your Majesty?”
King Azov laughed, “I'm satisfied with your choice, Edric. Imagine if they were both in my hands. The Kingdom of Azov will be very great and unmatched.”
Azov's eyes are not separated from Dimitri D’Arcy. One of the vampires who lived for a very long time in this world, unfortunately he was loyal and devoted to the Rudolmuv Kingdom.
Although the God of Death had offered three absolute victories in just 2 years for his kingdom, she was still a woman. Azov is forced to choose Chloe Elizabeth Suarez, Edric Suarez's dark son as his war commander because there is no other choice.
Azov actually disliked and feared being laughed at by others if they knew that his war commander was a woman. That is why, Azov asks Edric to keep his true Death God identity hidden.
A woman becomes a general and leads a soldier? No matter how great the woman is, her nature is to satisfy the man and bear children.
All eyes were still staring at the fierce duel. Their ability to swing swords was equally fast so if you blinked once, you would miss a swing.
“M Surrender. It seems you are tired of fighting with your armor,” Dimitri said when Chloe's sword almost pierced her eyes but she quickly dodged it.
“Not going. You must surrender or die in my hands.”
Dimitri gave her a small smile that made Chloe even more irritated and burned.
“It looks like you are so vengeful to me, when we just met. Did I do anything wrong?”
Dimitri tried to attack his armor helmet. Chloe knew she was trying to open her face cover.
“You dare to ask? What business did you get into my tent last night?”
Dimitri raised his eyebrows upwards. “Oh, so you know? Did you hide a woman inside?”
They circled the arena, in an attacking position and their conversation did not stop even though they were fighting.
“Really presumptuous!”
Chloe's hot face recalled how the black eyes looked at her backside body from top to bottom. It seemed that he would also not forget the incident so quickly.
Dimitri gave a small smile.
Got you!
He easily puts his body aside, ambushes Chloe's still-stretched hand and hits the back of her hand so hard that Chloe's sword falls to the ground.
Chloe gasped as she watched the sword fall from her hand.
Nah!
Dimitri moved closer to his face, still clasping Chloe's right hand, he said, “You lost, God of Death. Open..“
He had not yet finished speaking, out of nowhere the little dagger's eyes had already touched Dimitri's stomach.
“Who lost, The Destroyer?”
CLAPS! CLAPS! CLAPS!
The sound of clapping came from the pavilion tent. King Azov stood up and smiled with satisfaction. Similarly, Edric who immediately came to mediate the two people before everything became runyam.
“Curats. You're the first one to lose.” Dimitri looked at him with a deadly look.
Chloe smiled behind her armor helmet, “There is no rule that says you can only use one sword.”
Dimitri doesn't like to lose. He never loses! Since the God of Death had cheated first, he would also use dirty means to reveal the true identity of the war commander King Azov.
He shook his sword and the Death God's helmet escaped from his head. The helmet fell to the ground, rolling right at Edric's feet just steps away from the two men.
The little dagger with sharp eyes pierced Dimitri's stomach. But he did not feel pain. He can only be flabbergasted.
A few strands of her unbound hair flew about blown by the wind. Both eyes are brown which always haunts his dreams. The face she always remembers when she sees her son. Dimitri's sword fell to the ground.
“Chloe..”
The woman was similarly shocked by Dimitri.
“B-how did you know my name?”
Dimitri's head turned. So many questions were on his mind. Her left hand was still coiled around Chloe's right arm, grasping her so tightly as if afraid this was just her hallucination like the events in the Death God's tent last night.
The woman tilted her head to the side, astonished by Dimitri's strange demeanor.
“Chloe, are you really my Chloe?”
He was about to step back away from Dimitri, but Dimitri's hands were already cupping his face. He didn't care if this was just a ruse.
He didn't even care when the woman's hand pulled out the knife from Dimitri's stomach. All her pain and suffering paid off when she saw the face she missed.
“God actually answered my prayer.”
