Mr. Dimitri's Toy
Unexpected Attack

[Chloe’s POV]

The screams of the soldiers training in the morning were so thunderous. I was specifically watching to spur their spirits.

“There is no time for lazing! We will face a big war next month!” I cried out in a loud voice.

The sound of swords clashing against each other made me smile. This is the view I want to see. I glanced at the camp next door. The rest of the campfire that lived last night was dim, the bright brown tents were still tightly sealed.

There was no sign that the rest of the soldiers of the Rudolmuv Kingdom who had come with Dimitri would wake up soon. I snorted behind my armor but my eyes stared at the biggest tent in the middle.

Last night I managed to get rid of that liar guy. It's good that he said that my relationship with him was more than just a servant and a master. It must have been Dimitri's wits to seduce me into the bed with him.

Hmh! I'm sorry I'm not a slut. Oh, I'm not uninterested in Dimitri D’Arcy. He had a handsome face, athletic body and his masculine aura caught my attention. He was also a war commander with a good track record.

It could be said, he was a man that many women wanted. But I want more than that. I want to be loved as much as I love. Maybe that's also what kept me from being interested in the men who were chasing me.

So if Dimitri approaches me just because of his big ego to conquer the God of Death, he'd better kiss my sword eyes first before he kisses my lips!

I was so swept away in my own mind, thinking about how Dimitri's body was above me last night. His face was so close, he even buried it in my neck. I didn't realize my eyes were still staring at his tent as the man I was thinking of came out and his black eye bead instantly caught me.

A smile on his face. I really wanted to slap her again, but I turned my face away.

From a distance, I saw a man driving his horse at high speed. His left hand was raised upwards to show a dark green badge with a deer antler emblem.

He came down from his horse and faced me who had walked towards him, followed by Dimitri who was quickly beside me.

“General, I am Bryce Sardinia from the castle of Sicily. I have come to inform you that the Kingdom of Navarre is sailing towards the coast of Sardinia. They will arrive tonight too.”

Sicilian Castle is a castle located closest to the coast of Sardinia. The landlord who occupied the castle was Bryce Sardinia himself. He is a man in his 40s with a bald front head and a distended stomach.

“Mr Bryce, are you sure this news is true? Who did you hear it from?”

As far as I'm concerned, the new vampire King Navarre has formed will not be ready for now. They are still vulnerable to sunlight, if calculated - their age is only running two weeks.

“This, general. A pigeon carried this letter at midnight. I don't think long anymore and quickly want to meet you to deliver.”

I took the letter that Mr. Bryce offered me. There was a seahorse emblem embedded in the seal of the letter from the melted candle. The seal had broken indicating that Mr. Bryce had read the contents.

Bryce, buddy.

When this letter reaches your hands, King Nelson must have sailed to the coast of Sardinia. He will attack your castle and occupy it first to gain access to the Kingdom of Azov.

I and many people here do not want this war to happen. I hope my letter arrives on time.

Just a moment, Bryce. I risked my life to deliver this message.

Your loyal friend, Jerrick.

“Jerrick?” I finished reading the letter and Dimitri took it from my hand.

“Jerrick is an advisor to King Navarre.”

“Betul, ehmm. You must be General Dimitri D’Arcy.”.

“How can you be sure that this is not a trap? Sardinia Beach is a small beach to anchor its warships. There is no advantage if he chooses to attack Sicily Castle.”

“That's exactly it, general. We certainly would not have expected that Navarre would attack the coast of Sardinia and unbeknownst to us, the Sicilian Castle had already fallen into his hands. But he didn't think that Jerrick would betray him.”

Dimitri finished reading the letter and asked, “Why would Jerrick betray his own king?”

“Many people do not like the way King Nelson took care of his kingdom and want him to abdicate. You can trust the truth of this letter because Jerrick and I have been friends for so long.”

Goddamnit! Even if we get word faster, the number of soldiers here won't be enough to fight Navarre.

“Less than 70 people, general. But they've been trained.”

“We got a half-day profit thanks to Jerrick's information. Now you go back to your castle and prepare all your troops and beach defenses.”

Sicilian Castle has a 1500-mile coastal defense fortified with landmines. The fort that stretches and faces the beach can be used for archers.

“Good, general. I say goodbye first.”

The bells sounded, all the soldiers in the camp rushed to make their preparations.

Dimitri called his soldiers and said, “You immediately go to the intersection of the Sardinian forest. If time is on our side, the soldier promised by King Rudolmuv will arrive in a few hours. Change their route and we'll meet at Sicily Castle.”

“Good, Mr. Dimitri.”

He approached me who had finished talking to King Azov and Edric. They boarded his royal chariot and hurried away from the camp.

“King Azov chose to go?” dimitri asked looking at the horse carriage and some of his soldiers sped up.

“He went first to bring in extra troops. If Sicilian Castle falls into Nelson's hands, we must encircle it.”

Dimitri touched my shoulder. “Chloe, Sicily Castle will not fall into the hands of Nelson. There were two war commanders who risked their lives to protect Azov Kingdom.”

I shook Dimitri's hand coldly. “Don't get along, The Destroyer. Have you thought of a strategy to fight Navarre? You said you'd talk about it last night, but you're even more busy seducing me.”

Dimitri was stunned for a moment then laughed. “Yes, you are very good at torturing men, Chloe. One score for you. Tell you what, if the strategy I created succeeds in winning this war, you must grant one of my requests.”

“Only one?”

Dimitri shrugged his shoulders, “If you want to grant more, I don't mind.”

“What strategy do you have in mind?”

I wanted to hear what Dimitri had in mind because of course he had more experience in the vampire world. A soldier came to him with a dark horse. Dimitri took the bridle that had been paired from the hands of his soldiers.

“We will meet the warrior King Rudolmuv at the Sicilian Castle. There was a mage coming with the entourage. We'll trick Navarre.”'s army

The mage? A sorcerer. I frowned as the dark horse's nose pushed my shoulder and sniffed.

“See, Onyx just remember you. You still can't believe we have a special relationship?”

“Onyx?” I stroked the horse's nose and he neighed.

“You once sat on it and I hugged you from behind. Too bad you don't remember. Your heart is beating fast and the smell of your blood is calling me. We spend time in the middle of a dark forest.”.

I grabbed her shoulder, thankfully I was wearing a harness. Otherwise, he would definitely be happier when he saw my blushed face. I don't know what this strange feeling was when Dimitri was next to me.

I wanted to stay away but at the same time I was pulled by a magnet to stay by her side.

Dimitri laughed then he climbed on the back of the Onyx, looking at me from above. “See you at Sicily Castle, Chloe. I can't wait to win this war and remember your promise. You'll grant me one wish.”.

I was going to scream that I didn't agree. Onyx took the man away.
