Nightmares Become Reality

Magnus stroked his chin after hearing what Sofia said. “The unfortunate child. You've used your own father.”

Chloe shook her head slowly.

“Where was he when your son was taken? Though Edric already knew you were in Dimitri's grasp. Why didn't he save you?” ask Sofia.

“No, you guys are wrong.”

“When you turned into a vampire, he instantly raised you as War Commander. It was planned for a long time. You are like a pawn to smooth the way.”

He wanted to explain to all of them that Edric didn't mean it that way but his lips couldn't move. What Sofia said had a point as well.

Why didn't Edric save him from Dimitri? He already knows that Chloe is his son. What would happen if Edric took Chloe away?

Why was he blind all this time? He so obediently approved of his papa.

“When you decide to forgive Dimitri, he immediately approaches Empress Juliana so that her position as an ambassador of peace is not threatened. I heard Prince Dixon and Edric didn't have a good relationship.”

Chloe wanted to hear an explanation from Edric's mouth straight away.

“I will go home right now and prove to all of you that your accusations are not true.” Chloe turned her body around.

“Chloe, wait!” Alaric was about to prevent it but Magnus raised his left hand as a signal to let Chloe go.

With a raging feeling, Chloe walked out of the castle and her steps came to a halt when the two people she was looking for an explanation were already walking towards her.

Dimitri and Edric!

Why do they know I'm here? It's only fitting that last night I felt like someone was following me.

“Chloe, thankfully you're okay. Why did you leave without telling us?” Edric first asked while Dimitri just silently looked at his wife.

“I... If you two are here, who is guarding Dwayne?”

“Dwayne is coming but he's waiting on the ship with Eden.” Dimitri replied, then his eyes caught a figure behind Chloe.

“Halo everyone. What a beautiful day to gather here.” Alaric.

“Speakingly your daughter has some questions for you, Edric.”

Edric scrunched his forehead then his eyes bought in surprise, he took a step back. “Cannot.”

Sofia appeared so real in front of them all. “No need to be surprised like seeing a ghost.”

Edric's eyes could not escape Sofia.

“Well, well, well. A heartwarming reunion.”Magnus' voice sounded before his person appeared. “But I'll just see. Go on, you guys can cuddle up and take off miss.”

Edric turned his eyes to Chloe. “Is this true? Your mama's alive. The woman I love is alive!”

“No. The Sofia you know is dead. Sofia you erased her memory and you left!!”

Edric sniffed the air around them and he came to his senses. “No smell of your blood. Wh who? Who changed you?!”

Magnus raised his hand as Edric's sharp gaze pointed at him. “Not me. But you know him Edric.”

Sofia interrupted, “You don't need to know who changed me. We are waiting for your answer. Come on, you told your daughter yourself that you only used her.”

Edric asked confusedly. “What do you mean, Sofia?”

“Is it true that papa helped Empress Juliana ascend the throne? Papa who made those two accidents?”

Edric's face immediately changed and he did not pull over. “Chloe..”

That's all Chloe needs. His rational mind was shrouded by a thick fog. He has been lied to and betrayed all this time and worse, by his own father.

“All service to the Rudolmuv Kingdom is because papa already knows about Dwayne? Papa secretly met him without telling me?”

“Chloe, I also didn't know you were alive and living with Edric. But you have to understand. Edric..”.

“Shut! I'm not talking to you.” Chloe's eyes looked fiery, but it was aimed at Edric.

Edric should have been the man he trusted the most. Edric's betrayal is beyond anything.

He pulled a dagger from his shoe and in an instant had already moved. Chloe didn't really mean to kill her father. He was only angry and wanted to bully, not blow the dagger into his heart.

The handle of the dagger was still he held, but the tip was already stuck in the chest of a black-robed man. She shook her head in disbelief, tears began to fall from both of her cheeks as she saw the face of the man she loved begin to appear fine cracks.

“No... No..”

But he gave a small smile. “It’s allright, little rose. It’s allright.”

“No, Dimitri.. I don't mean to..”.

Dimitri opened his mouth to answer but could not as the cracks on his face deepened.

“NOOOO!!” Chloe's screams echoed so loudly. Calling back his soulmate who was snatched away.

This is a nightmare come true.

The wind gently swept across her face and slowly partially turned to dust, then everything was left until only Dimitri's clothes fell into Chloe's hands, along with the dagger.

Chloe fell to the floor, her hands still clutching Dimitri's clothes. He was waiting for the moment he woke up from this nightmare. But seconds passed.

No one woke him up in a low voice, grabbed him and stroked his eyebrows while saying that this was all just a nightmare.

Tikaman tiled against his chest, so stifling. Chloe screamed hysterically and clutched her chest. His voice sounded like the howling of an injured animal.

Somewhere, away from the Castle Clan Children of The Night, two bodies were fusing into one. Their breath gasps to reach heights.

“Draven, I'm tired and can't take it anymore.”

“Sabar bit, Adreana. You just need to be quiet and I'm moving.”

The woman does not seem to move and trust her partner. His arms were coiled around the sturdy neck, both his legs crossed into the man's body.

With an irregular breath he said, “Already. Almost. Till.”

They both climbed towards the top and the woman tightened her arms and shrieked in astonishment.

“See! Sunrise! We really are at the top of Evermount Mountain!!”

Draven heaved a sigh of relief. His hard work paid off. The lover asked to take a walk to the highest and coldest mountain in Rudolmuv Kingdom just to see the sunrise!

He had to agree. He thinks Adreana is good at climbing mountains. Apparently only halfway through, he had already complained his legs were not strong anymore. So Draven has to carry her up.

He took Adreana off his back. Adreana ran to the top and twisted her body with such a happy face. Coupled with the majesty of the sun shining behind it, adds to the beauty of Adreana.

“Happy?”

“Thank you!”

Adreana turned her body to look at the sun again. He's a weird vampire. Her goal is to see the sunrise with her lover.

Although Adreana actually wanted one more thing while on the top of the mountain. But it seems impossible.

Draven pulled his shirt from behind.

“Hm?”

Adreana turned her body and saw Draven already kneeling below with both hands holding a small circle that glimmered in the sunlight.

“Will you marry me, Adreana Petrova?”

Adreana's mouth was wide open and she immediately hugged Draven until they fell on the soft snow.

“Yes, yes, yes I will.”

They kissed the man on top of Evermount Mountain with the sun as his witness.
