Invitation to the King

[The Third POV]

Chloe suddenly woke up in her deep sleep, cold sweat soaked all over her body and her heart was racing.

“Chloe...” Dimitri's voice dawned on him that he was only dreaming.

“You're having a nightmare, darling?”

Chloe looked outside the window that was still covered in curtains, no sunlight had yet penetrated into the room. The wall clock shows at 04:05.

His throat was dry as he gulped and in a hoarse voice he said, “I dream of being in front of that old hut, killing a vampire who was sucking blood from my neck but.”.

Chloe looked into her black eyes, “That vampire is you, Dimitri. I stabbed that knife right in your heart and you died.”

Dimitri stroked his eyebrows, “Sshh.. It was just a nightmare.”

Ever since Dimitri forced Chloe to conceive her child, the girl never called her ‘tuan’ again.

“I'm afraid Dimitri. I'm not ready for everything that's happened to me. I'm not ready to give birth to this child.”

Dimitri doesn't know what else to say to calm Chloe's heart. She was pregnant and depressed, adding to the worry that should not be there because Dimitri would take care of her.

So Dimitri did the only thing he knew that could relax women. Chloe didn't fight back, even she was so passionate about replying to Dimitri's every blow to her body.

As Dimitri restrained himself from moving slowly, the girl below him urged, “Ahh....Faster, Dimitri! Give it all to me!”

Dimitri doesn't want to hurt the mother of his son, like the last time he used Chloe's body violently on the kitchen table. So she bit and sucked Chloe's blood, her whole body feeling alive as her throat gulped down every drop of human blood destined for her.

The girl was still panting in her arms, she buried her face in Dimitri's chest and kissed him.

“When I was kidnapped by Lazarus, how did you feel, Dimitri?”

Dimitri stroked his stomach, “I was so angry that I almost killed Gladys, then Draven prevented me. He said your life is more important to save first.”

“Gladys! Where is he now?”

Chloe could understand why Gladys hated her so much. She just wants to be loved by someone who doesn't love her.

“He's been I've been fired and I've been driven forever from the land of D’Arcy. Gladys won't harm you again.”.

Poor Gladys! Somehow his fate is now.

“Sorry, I was also wrong for agreeing to Gladys' plan,” whispered Chloe.

“I've forgiven everything, Chloe. If vampires continue to live in the past, we will all end up like Lazarus who never wanted to accept reality.”

That's why Dimitri's heart was icy cold, he never wanted to open his heart even though many vampires from the elite were eyeing him as a couple.

“If you give birth to my son safely, I will set you free. You can meet the man you love, marry him and have another child.”

As if struck by lightning, Chloe lifted her head and looked at Dimitri's serious face.

“I'll take this child as a gift from you, Chloe. From a special woman who has been in my life. Maybe I'm selfish, but I want someone to remind me of you when you left this world first.”

Dimitri could see Chloe's face change from shocked to angry. Her lips trembled as she said, “Then, after I gave birth to your child, turn me into a vampire, Dimitri.”

“No, Chloe. You think living in eternity is fun? That's why I keep finding fun in battle. Besides I'm not sure I'd be interested in you if you turned into a vampire.”

“What makes you special is that you're an ordinary human being, Chloe.”

Dimitri has to say it! Even if it hurts Chloe.

Chloe looked at Dimitri's face for a long time, as if she wanted to see that Dimitri wasn't lying. He really had the heart to separate Chloe from her son!

[Chloe’s POV]

I don't want to think too far. There is still 1 month to change Mr Dimitri's mind. Maybe when this kid is born, he won't do that to me.

I got out of bed, and she held my hand, “Where are you going, Chloe? Just go to sleep again. The sun has not yet risen. Later I will accompany you the road around the castle.”

Why are you good to me now, Dimitri? You're afraid I won't give this kid to you?

“You fired Gladys, which means I have to work alone. If not who else?” grunting.

Mr Dimitri raised one of his eyebrows up, “Work? Really, Chloe... You're pregnant with my son, remember? It makes your status raised here.”

Mr. Dimitri's face changed, there was no more tenderness like that.

“Good, sir,” I said obediently but my eyes challenged it.

“The news of Lazarus' death has spread. While you sleep, Draven conveys that the king invites us to the palace next week.”

“Kita?” many confused.

I'm just an ordinary servant, I have no business coming to the king's palace!

“You're coming too, Chloe. The king wants to meet the person who has killed the commander of the kingdom Azov.”

“Lazarus is the commander of king Azov?!” pekiku.

But Mr. Dimitri chuckles, “You don't have to panic, little babu. The king was only curious about my little servant who could kill a commander.”

“T-but does the king also know that you guys are vampires?”

I got out of bed and paced back and forth in front of the bed with a feeling of anxiety.

I pulled a blanket from the bed and covered my body, “Serius dong Dimitri!! I don't have to go?” my door.

“Later a shirt maker will come, other affairs you do not need to worry. Eden can help you.”

Eden! I still feel sorry for that old grandma.

Suddenly my stomach rang so loudly, my face blushed in embarrassment when Dimitri also heard it.

“My son must be hungry. I'll bring food for you.”

Mr. Dimitri's face was instantly as bright as the sun, he went outside the room quickly.

Fuck up! There was only this child in his mind.

You have to grow up healthy, son. Mama will protect you from now on. You're lucky there are two people who love you so much.

Within a few days, I was busy preparing to meet the king. Luxury clothes are available, Eden also taught me manners like a noble girl.

Dimitri was so gentle and considerate, always asking me if I was hungry. I've been hungry ever since I had a vampire child in my womb. Surprisingly, I never vomited. My appetite has also increased.

I became a picky eater, if ever I could just eat thankfully.

We were sitting at the hall table when the new waiter in place of Gladys delivered lunch for me, “This is Miss Chloe.”

I sniffed the roasted chicken and frowned, “I don't like it, it's overripe and dry roasted. Ugh..”

Dimitri told the new waiter to replace it as I wanted.

“Sorry, Dimitri. But I really don't taste with that one.”

“It looks like peanut will be a picky child.” Mr. Dimitri smiled.

Peanut, her nickname is for the child in my womb.

“A minute he won't be as big as a pea, sir,” I'm swirling my lips and looking at my stomach that's been looking a little bigger than a few days ago.

Mr. Dimitri kissed my forehead then my stomach, “I can't wait to see peanut.”
