My brother turned out to be my husband
Chapter 13: The Orphanage of Mary Joseph.

Evans was silent for a long time in the car, looking at a classic building that looked old enough.

Right in the courtyard of the building, there were many small children who were busy running to and fro.

Orphanage of Maria Joseph, that's the name of the building that Evans is very familiar with.

The orphanage where Evans came from. The man actually never remembered him at all, because he was only a few days there before finally being raised as a child by his parents who are now.

From what Samantha had heard, Evans was the baby that a homeless woman had left there, and was never taken again.

The first time Simon and Samantha saw her tiny figure, Samantha fell in love. What's more, they have similar eye colors.

Without further ado, Simon and Samantha took Evans home that day. Only later, Simon took care of the papers so that their relationship was legally valid.

Suddenly, the sound of a car windshield rattles Evans' daydreams instantly. A jade-eyed girl looked at the man from behind the glass with innocent eyes.

Evans opened his car window and smiled kindly. "Hi" said the man.

"Hi, Mister. I'm sorry, I've been watching Mr.'s car here and not moving at all. So I guess, the owner of this car is having a hard time" said the little girl.

Hearing the polite words of a young child, Evans made a faint smile. He got out of the car and squatted down in front of the girl.

"What's your name?" ask Evans later.

"Cecilia. I'm 7 years old and I'm the prettiest kid in this orphanage" Cecilia replied enthusiastically.

Evans chuckled and ruffled his hair slowly.

"So, why did you stop here?" ask Cecilia curiously. Apparently he still wants to know the reason Evans stopped there.

"It's okay. I was just watching you guys playing in the yard" Evans replied.

"Why see it from far away? You can come inside and say hello to us."

Evans grimaced, Cecilia was truly a very critical little girl and would not give up if she had not gotten a satisfactory answer.

Just as Evans was about to reply, suddenly a middle-aged woman came and reprimanded the girl

"Cecil, don't bother the Master" said the woman.

"Sorry Madame, I'm just wondering why this handsome Master didn't enter the parlour."

the woman arrives before Evans rubbing Cecilia's head, and asks the girl to return to play with her siblings.

"alright. Bye, handsome sir!" cecilia exclaimed before running towards her brothers.

"I'm sorry for the kid's behavior. He's a smart kid and a little chatty. The sisters here are often made dizzy." The woman laughed crisply.

"It's okay." Evans smiled.

"Ahh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Maria, the owner of this orphanage. Can I help you?" Mary extended her hand to Evans.

Evans looked at the woman deeply. Maria is the name of the owner of the parlor and the first woman to embrace her, when the man was first entrusted to it.

Evans welcomes Maria's hand. "How's Madame Maria doing?"

Maria frowned deeply, upon hearing Evans' greeting. It was as if he was remembering something.

Hearing this, Maria was surprised. Wileen's family were the biggest donors to her orphanage, before it was taken over by the local government.

With wet eyes, Maria took a look at Evans' stout-looking physique in his suit. There is a sense of pride that is implied in the woman, when she realized the little baby has now grown big and successful.

Maria invites Evans to stop by and enter the orphanage.

Seeing the arrival of handsome men there, the children of the parlour who were playing immediately surrounded him to get acquainted.

After being content to chat with the children of the orphanage and get acquainted with other administrators, Evans and Maria entered his room.

There Maria shows two photos of Evans, when he was just posted.

"This is just a photo I have. The woman I knew as your mother, hasn't been seen since. Some say he was transferred to a social care home. However, there is also other news that says .. Your mother is dead."

Evans took the photo from Maria's hand. He, who never knew who his mother was, chose not to comment. "Can I keep this photo?"

"of course. Keep it well."

Evans looked at the photo intently. His eyes were fixedly staring at a thick-mouthed woman whose face was covered with skulls and scarves.

Maria then invited him to talk about the orphanage, as well as the kindness of the Wileen Family who were willing to help them when the orphanage was on the edge.

"If it wasn't for them, the home would have been closed by then" Maria said.

The nearly 70-year-old woman then held Evans' hand and patted him gently. "Be happy with your family, son Evans. You're everything to them."

Evans was stunned for a moment to hear it.

...***...

"Where are you going, baby, until you get home this evening?" samantha asked when Evans had just returned home and approached her in the kitchen. The man also kissed her cheeks softly.

"I just visited the parlor, Ma," Evans replied honestly.

Samantha, who was busy stirring her food in the pot, stopped her cooking. "Mama hasn't been there in a long time. Is the parlor in good condition? What about Madame Maria?" The question then came out of the woman's mouth.

Evans smiled knot. "Replace in good condition, Ma. He also looks very healthy." Answer the man.

"Thank God. Do you want to come visit again sometime, baby?"

Evans nodded his head.

As the two were engrossed in talking about the orphanage, suddenly Elena's voice greeted their sense of hearing.

The girl went inside the house with a face of a sumringah, while behind her, Lili and Anna were busy carrying large bags and some paper bags containing souvenirs.

Elena kissed Samantha's cheek, and greeted Evans normally. However, the mother's plot made the girl finally land a light kiss on the sister's cheek as well.

"A lot of souvenirs," said Samantha when Lily finished lifting the entire paper bag onto the kitchen table.

"I was confused to choose it, so I just bought what was there. He he ...." Elena scratched her non-itchy cheek.

Samantha let out a sigh of resignation while shaking her head. He told his two sons to take a bath and change their clothes. "Just after that, we had dinner together. No need to wait for Papa. Papa's got a dinner appointment with his friend."
