For months the Kingdom of Lagarde had been patiently awaiting the arrival of Airlea since her departure from the royal palace of Oswald. However, none of the good news they got. Somehow the story, Airlea who now changed the name so nimble that never caught. Of course with the help of an unknown man, whom they dub as 'the homeless dagger-holder'.
Various ways have been taken by both kingdoms to bring home the princess, either using subtle or rough ways, but Airlea was not at all pleased to return.
This, of course, put Prince Deshington's patience to an end.
Regardless of the relationship between his parents' friendship with both parents, the man struck the drums of war and stormed the Royal Palace of Oswald in the early hours of the morning. Simultaneously, he also ordered some of his soldiers to come to Airlea once more and bring the girl before him, either alive or dead.
King Galadriel of course was surprised by the actions of his best friend's son. Those who have been living in peace for decades, certainly lower their level of vigilance. He was not at all ready for war.
With Deshington and Mavolery, along with all his soldiers killed the guards and soldiers of the Oswald kingdom. The man even managed to break in and take King Galadriel, Queen of Levania, and Princess Leanor hostage.
"Cursed be this, Mavolery, Deshington!" exclaimed Galadriel who is now cowering in pain with his hands and feet tied behind his back.
"Your daughter is the damned one, Galadriel! He is the one who has wreaked havoc on your family and your entire kingdom!" deshington said cynically. He folded his hands together while occasionally kicking Galadriel's legs, until the middle-aged man grimaced in pain.
"No! I finally understood why Airlea refused this match, even willing to leave her whole life here!" Galadriel lifted her head and returned the cynical gazes of the pair of father and son.
Hearing that, Deshington went up in black. He dragged Galadriel and her family to the balcony and showed them the terrible sight that was out there.
Galadriel widened her eyes. Flames appeared in some of his people's residences close to the palace. Lots of lifeless bodies were scattered in the palace courtyard, from soldiers to some ordinary people.
"The loyalty of your people makes them foolishly try to help stop me, even though the warrior class alone is unable to defeat the greatness of my royal soldiers!" a violent laughter came out from Mavolery's mouth.
"Cursed you all!" galadriel strangled while trying to untie his hand. However, it still didn't work.
Deshington laughing.
Leanor cried as she pleased, while Levania looked resigned. The woman seemed to know that there was nothing more they could do. Their lives are now on the edge of the horn. In her heart she prayed to the goddess of fortune to continue to protect her youngest daughter, Airlea, wherever she was.
"Don't cry, dear," said Levania, sticking his forehead to the eldest daughter's forehead. "Behold, Mother loves you very much" the woman continued. Tears flowed down both of his cheeks.
Leanor nodded, in a sobbing voice she said, "I also love Mom and Dad, and I will never hate Airlea for what happened today."
Levania smiled gently and kissed Leanor's forehead affectionately. After that, he turned to the husband who could now only bow helplessly. Using her knees, Levania inched towards her husband. Deshington left it as a family farewell.
"Don't hate your youngest daughter" she told her husband.
"Never once. From the beginning I should have given up. It was the hardness of my heart that caused Airlea to leave our lives." Sorrow was evident in Galadriel's eyes. Giving one of his favorite daughters to an arrogant and cruel man like Deshington was his biggest mistake as a father.
Galadriel closed her eyes, pervading a piece of the sentence she had always liked about her wife. "I love you too, Levania."
The next instant the slash of the sword took Levania's life away, right before Galadriel and Leanor.
Leanor's shrill scream echoed. However, the next second Leanor no longer spoke, because Deshington did the same to the girl.
Galadriel widened her eyes. Trauma hit the middle-aged man's heart, when watching the lives of his two loved ones must be snatched right in front of his eyes.
Some of the people who began to gather in the palace courtyard and saw the incident, suddenly shouted hysterically and cried so badly.
Mavolery grabbed the head of his best friend and forced the man to stand up.
In front of his people, Galadriel smiled kindly. "Blessed are you all, my people. Forgive me for this, and please, never hate my youngest daughter."
Shortly after Galadriel said so, Mavolery heartily slashed his friend's neck before the people of the Kingdom of Oswald.
"This is the punishment for the disbelievers!" mavolery shouted as he threw the lifeless body of Galadriel down.
The people immediately shrouded and hugged Galadriel's body while weeping. In less than two hours they had to lose the benevolent king and his entire family.
The rain suddenly fell as if to signal, that the sky also felt sorrow for their loss.
One fact that Airlea and Galadriel and her family did not know at all was the tragic death that also came to Airlea two days later.
...*****...
After the heinous massacre, Deshington occupied the Kingdom of Oswald and renamed it the Kingdom of Lagarde II. All the belongings of the Oswald family were thrown away without any remains.
The people who still loved them decided to take the goods and store them in a horse farm stall owned by one of the rich merchants who was no longer used.
Meanwhile, the powerful Deshington ran the government arbitrarily. He raised the income tax to the people. People are also required to deposit their crops by 30 percent. If they are reluctant to pay, their stalls, farms, gardens, and homes will be confiscated or burned to the ground. Physical torture is inevitable.
He also forbade his people to leave the place. If anyone is found to run away, then they will be made into palace slaves for life without pay.
For nearly 20 years the people had to live in fear and injustice, before the Valcke Kingdom took over the palace and overthrew Deshington.
Although not as good as King Galadriel's heart, but the people can still live a normal and happy life again, under the leadership of the now elderly King Varley. He even granted the request of the people by erecting a building to store the remains of the Oswald Kingdom in honor, before finally being moved to a new place in the 1890s.
