"What!" elena shouted without caring about herself who was now at the dinner table, eating dinner with her whole family.
"El!" reprimand the mother with a warning tone.
"Ma .. af," said Elena lethargic. His eyes looked back at the father, who was not at all burdened after saying so.
Elena scratched her head in frustration. "Pa, I definitely wouldn't focus on college if I had to go to the office as well!" pekiknya back.
"El ...!" Again the mother spoke.
"Yes, Ma .. sorry," Elena complained as she pursed her lips.
"After all, I have absolutely no experience. If Papa wants me to work, I better start from the bottom. Ahh, what if it's OG?" elena's originals, who immediately got a sweet blow on the forehead, from her beloved mother.
"Sick, Mom!" elena exclaimed as she rubbed her forehead.
"Listen to your father, honey," the mother said.
Elena bowed listlessly.
"If it doesn't start now, when else, El? Your brother has been helping Papa since he was in high school, and he doesn't feel burdened by this at all, even though he lives abroad."
"It's not really that, Pa. I also don't mind having to work in an office ... but being Kak Evans' personal secretary? I don't think I can do it." Elena could only utter a line of words in her heart. His eyes then glanced at the man who was sitting quietly before him.
"Sir Evans must have objected too." His eyes seemed to be begging, for his brother to say that as well.
"Papa's been telling your brother since he was in the office this morning, and he doesn't mind Papa's proposal at all. Right, right, Evans?" Simon asked his son for his consent.
Evans nodded silently.
Seeing Evans' response, Elena was shocked. Since then, the man has not responded to their conversation. He just focused on eating his dinner quietly.
Seeing Evans' indifference, an irritated Elena immediately stood up from her dining chair.
"Look, right, Pa? How can I work with him, if my existence alone is not ignored at all? Thanks for dinner, excuse me!" Without waiting for a response from her parents, Elena waltzed away leaving the dining table.
"El," call Samantha down. Her blue net then looked at the eldest child with a pleading gaze. "Vans, can't you stop this, honey? You can't keep acting like this to your own sister."
Evans put his spoon and fork on the plate, before standing up. "Since the beginning I've said that I'm leaving this family after Elena's presence. But you never listen." The man bowed his body and left them just like that.
Samantha held onto her suddenly twisted chest. The desire to see his two sons loving each other seemed very far from hope.
"How's this, Pa?" ask the woman.
"They won't be like this forever. Believe it." Simon squeezed Samantha's hand, trying to calm her wife's grief.
...***...
Since that incident, Elena and Evans' relationship has grown cold and distant. Passing in the house alone, both are like strangers who do not know each other.
It was actually not at all a matter for Elena. Instead, she felt much better, if only the mother had not tried to unite them.
Samantha made the two to communicate with each other. From starting to get Evans to take Elena to school, to asking Elena to deliver drinks for her brother, like now.
"El, please deliver this warm tea to your sister's study, yes" said Samantha.
"Why don't you just tell Maya or Lily Ma?" lamented Elena.
Samantha shook her head. "You're the one that's taking you, honey?" A line of sweet smiles –which looks scary in the eyes of Elena– imprinted on the beautiful face of the middle-aged woman.
Inevitably, Elena finally obeyed the mother's order to deliver the drink, even while grumbling.
Arriving in front of Evans' study, Elena knocked on the door twice first, then went inside.
"This is the tea" said Elena flat.
"Hm." Just an indifferent mutter Evans gave Elena, in response.
Elena tried to refrain from throwing the tray at the handsome face of the older sister. With a jolt of pace, the girl came out of Evans' study.
"Aw!" yelena screeched when her leg accidentally hit the foot of the sofa.
Elena sat on the floor to check the state of her big toe which looked blue and throbbed painfully.
The real Evans saw the incident, showing absolutely no reaction to Elena.
"Damn! It hurts!" as if Elena was upset. Occasionally, a small ringing sound came out from the lips of the girl.
Elena rushed up from the floor. With a limp step, he started walking towards the exit.
However, Elena squealed as Evans suddenly carried herself without warning.
"Sister, put me down! I can walk by myself!" sergeant Elena.
Evans ignored the sister's protest. The man took Elena into his room not far from there.
"Don't misunderstand me. I just don't want Papa and Mama to catch me not caring about you!" exclaim Evans cold.
"Based on a fucking guy who doesn't know himself!" maki Elena in heart.
He couldn't possibly get those words out clearly to the older brother. As a result, Elena could only fall silent without saying anything more.
The pain that was originally felt by him, was replaced with resentment many times over.
"Here you go, just put me down here" Elena said as they reached her room.
Evans would not listen. He was just about to let go of his sister, when he entered the girl's room.
However, instead of lowering her down slowly, Evans instead threw the girl onto the bed violently.
Regardless of the ringing coming out of Elena's mouth, the man rushed out of the room, and returned with a P3K box.
"Obati himself!" evans shouted coldly while throwing the box, until it almost hit Elena's leg who was injured.
Elena remained silent. The girl could only watch Evans leave with her eyes already wet.
"Why cry, you idiot!" as Elena wiped away her rough tears.
Supposedly, he shouldn't be surprised by Evans' cruel treatment just now. Because in the past, the brother even left him alone in the middle of a snowstorm, just because he followed himself.
That's one of the other reasons, which makes Elena no longer want to come with her father and mother abroad to meet her brother.
While sobbing, Elena treated her legs alone.
"Darling!" Samantha arrived minutes later after Evans told her about Elena's injury.
The woman approached her crying daughter while treating her wound alone.
Seeing the mother coming to the room, Elena even hardened her cries. "Sick, Mom!"
"Yes, honey, do your legs hurt? Mama's treating your wounds, huh?" Samantha immediately took over the cream that was in Elena's hands and began to apply it slowly.
Hearing her mother's words, Elena cried even more. He had absolutely no idea, what the pain Elena was saying was.
