My brother turned out to be my husband

My brother turned out to be my husband
Chapter 19: "Elena!"

The sound of someone breathing heavily, accompanied by brutal footsteps, broke the silence of the forest tonight.

No matter her body had fallen awake and her smooth legs had been filled with d4r4h due to scratch wounds, the golden unraveling woman continued to run down the ridge in order to avoid chasing some people who were riding horses.

Cold sweat poured down the woman's body, although the night weather was actually very cold. Not to mention, his heartbeat is increasingly beating incoherently.

Even so, he could still be grateful, for they found themselves at nightfall.

Iris turned to and fro in search of a hiding place to be free from the men who were chasing her.

In fact, this is not the first time Iris has experienced such an incident now. He has been through a similar incident four times. However, it is usually Leon, the husband, who will confront and protect the woman. However, as Leon was currently away for a few days to hunt, Iris inevitably had to face their pursuit alone.

"Hey, stop right there!" The screams of a man made Iris even more panicked.

A glimmer of hope was present on the verge of the noose of despair, when the girl's eyes found a cave covered in several tall trees and shrubs.

For a moment Iris hesitated to hide there. There may be many animals attacking him. He naturally did not want to run away from the tiger raid by entering the tiger cage.

However, the clattering of horse footsteps and the shouting sounds of the soldiers chasing after her, sounded even more frightening to the woman.

Rushing, Iris ran towards the thickets and hid right in the mouth of the cave. The bushes that grew bushy a little helped Iris to hide away.

The sound of horse paws suddenly stopped right in front of the cave. The soldiers shouted at each other calling out Iris's name, while looking back and forth.

"Princess Airlea!"

The terrified iris was getting deeper and deeper. He would not let even a single hair be seen by the eyes of those soldiers. However, suddenly the woman was startled by the hiss of a poisonous snake. The snake appeared just above the mouth of the cave and looked sharply at its eyes.

Iris's face paled. As strongly as possible he silenced his mouth using the palm of his hand. The woman even bit her lips hard so as not to scream, as the snake stuck out its forked tongue.

Not only that, the venomous snake then crept closer to Iris until it stopped right in front of the woman's face. Iris took a step back, but her leg tripped over a stone to make a noise.

It was that voice that provoked the cavalry to come near the cave.

"Down! Check out that place!" tell one of the higher-ranking soldiers, to his friend.

Without a second thought, the subordinate soldier came down and approached the bush.

He did not know at all that there was a poisonous snake perched there.

"Aarghh!" the soldier shouted as he ran back towards his comrades.

"What's wrong?" ask the soldier who gave the order.

"U–ular!" answer him before he falls with a blue face. Not until a minute, the soldier finally tew4s with a frothy mouth.

"Basic fool!" exclaiming his other friends, he ordered them to immediately go from there and look elsewhere. "She would definitely not be in such a dangerous place."

The iris breathed a sigh of relief as the sound of the horse's foot creaking drifted further away and eventually disappeared.

Iris rushed out from inside the cave. The snake was still there, but strangely he did not move at all, as if inviting Iris to leave.

"Thank you" said Iris.

...***...

The figure of Leon in ordinary clothes suddenly plastered in front of the woman. His smile that burst open, made Iris continuously amazed.

However, over time his face began to change, as well as the way he dressed. The man who was everyday wearing a straw hat and simple clothes made of linen or patchwork, suddenly wore clothes that Iris herself did not know.

"Elena,"

Iris scrunched her eyes as soon as she heard the name of the foreign girl spoken by her husband.

"Leon!" call Iris again.

"Elena! Elena! Elena!"

...***...

Elena blinked her eyes as soon as she woke up from sleep. The girl then sat on the bed.

Strange dreams about a woman named Iris come back. However, a new name suddenly appeared teasing his inner self.

"Princess Airea? It seems I've heard that name a few times, but where is it?" the girl was confused.

However, what was more confusing was, how could the man named Leon call his name.

"Why did the man suddenly call my name? How could my name be there?"

The sound of the door knocking out Elena's daydream. After being invited in, apparently the mother who appeared while carrying a tray of food.

Elena raised her head and looked at the wall clock. His eyes continued to gasp as soon as he realized the clock had shown at half-nine p.m.

"Sorry, Ma, I'm too tired to realize I've slept too long" Elena said.

"It's okay, honey. Here, Mama make you dinner." Samantha gives a tray over Elena's lap.

Elena tried not to grimace in pain when the tray touched her wound. She didn't want her mother to know.

The girl also greedily ate Samantha's cooking while trying to ignore the pain.

"Mom can you ask what happened to you until you came home angry?" ask Samantha carefully.

"It's okay Ma. Just a little misunderstanding with Big Brother, but I've been feeling better" Elena replied.

Samantha looked deeper into the boy to find the lie in his daughter's eyes.

"Really?" ask the woman.

"Yes, Ma. Merely, I do feel like Sister Evans really hates me. Since I was a child I've never been seen in his eyes." Elena put down her fork and sighed resignedly.

"Kis Evans' attitude made me think that we might not be brothers. How not, I never once saw a brother hurt his sister so deeply."

Hearing Elena's words, Samantha flinched. The woman's face suddenly pias.

"You don't talk just like that, honey. You're siblings. Brother Evans just can't show you his affection. It's only natural that men behave like that."

Elena remained silent. He was about to refute, but seeing the look on his mother's face, Elena undoed her intentions.

Precisely what he knew, having a little sister for a boy was an immeasurable happiness. They will protect your brother from anything and will never hurt him.

That is inversely proportional to Evans' attitude.

Even so, Elena was quite a bit stunned by what Evans had done earlier while treating her injuries. Whether it was from the heart or afraid of being scolded by their parents.because it had caused the younger sister to be injured, Elena still felt a little stifled.
