My brother turned out to be my husband
Chapter 9: The Shadow of Leon.

The knock of the door that Evans had previously floated was not at all influenced by Elena. The man even called his name. However, there is no truth from within.

Evans was just about to leave from there, when suddenly his hand accidentally pressed on Elena's room door handle, and it opened.

Knowing that the door to the girl's room was unlocked, Evans slowly went inside.

The man frowned deeply, when he found the younger brother crying with his eyes closed.

The girl was actually crying sobbing while calling someone's name.

"Leon? Who's Leon? Is he her lover?" Batin Evans upon hearing the name

Instead of subsiding, Elena's cries became even more. That made Evans a little panicked.

Afraid of the sister's cry sounding out of the room and causing misunderstandings, Evans finally woke Elena up.

"Elena," called Evans, stabbing her cheek with her index finger several times.

Once, twice, even three times, Evans called her name, but Elena did not wake up at all. However, as soon as the fourth call, Elena opened her eyes and immediately sat down with a trembling body.

Not only that, Elena was like trying to get rid of something invisible that perched all over her body.

Evans who saw it was getting worried and confused.

"El," said Evans, holding his sister's shoulder.

Elena who was shocked to the touch, reflexively brushed off Evans' hand and shouted at the man not to hold his body.

"Hey, it's me!" exclaim Evans.

"No! Just go! Go!" Elena closed her eyes and closed both her ears tightly.

Evans' heart suddenly softened. With as gentle a movement as possible, the man clenched his sister's body and began to calm the girl down.

"Hey, calm down, you're fine" Evans said softly. He said those words many times while stroking Elena's head.

Realizing that she was now on the bed and in the arms of her sister, Elena finally stopped crying

His hand clutched firmly on Evans' shirt, as if asking not to be let go.

Evans inevitably remained in the same position until Elena was completely at ease.

"I'm scared!" exclaimed Elena in a hoarse voice.

"Calm down, you're fine" Evans said.

After Elena stopped crying, Evans returned to the body and asked her to rest. "I'm going to get Lily to deliver the food here" Evans said.

Elena could only nod. He did not have the strength to go downstairs because he was crying too much.

The dream he had just experienced really felt very real and it was terrifying.

...***...

"How long, dear? Where's your sister?" samantha asked as soon as she saw the son appear alone.

"Sleep, Ma. Let Lily take the food upstairs." Answer Evans.

Simon and Samantha put their heads down. It seemed like the two sons were indeed having no minor clashes.

...***...

The next morning, Elena came out and came down from the room for breakfast. His face looked mediocre, as if nothing had happened.

Seeing that, Evans felt a little relieved.

...***...

Holidays were usually very pleasant days for Elena. However, since the presence of Evans, the girl felt uncomfortable at home.

There's just a reason Elena said to be able to go out of the house. It's like playing at Jenny's house, or going for a walk with her boyfriend, Albern.

However, because both of her favorite people were busy, Elena was forced to spend time at home alone. He couldn't possibly continue to lock himself in the room.

Evans, who had just stepped down from the second floor, asked the same question.

"There's an invitation from one of Papa's colleagues, after which we'll go visit Uncle Ben. You guys are fine at home huh" Samantha said. He kissed Evans and Elena's cheeks in turn. And so does Simon.

Elena widened her eyes. Why is it that when he's home, they have to leave? What's more, every weekend like this some maid takes a day off.

Elena bowed lethargic, as if she was already preparing to cry.

"OK then I'll be—"

"Don't lock yourself in a room, El. You're Evans too. Instead of just staying in the room and office space, you better clean the back garden. Mr. Bardon has not been in for a few days because he returned to his hometown, and Papa has not found a replacement for him temporarily" Simon said at length.

"Goody! The more beautiful my holiday is!" Elena's mind was irritated.

After the departure of both parents. Evans and Elena go to the back garden with Lily.

Every weekend, the maids who do not take a day off are allowed to relax a little and wear free clothes.

"Which ones need to be cleaned?" ask Evans to Lily.

Lily grimaced. "This is all Young Master. You have to mow the grass using Lawn Mower, then clean the dead leaves on the plants, as well as replace it if the plant is dead."

Breathing out of Evans' mouth. His eyes then glanced at his sister.

"I'll just cut the grass!" he answered quickly, as if understanding the meaning of Evans' eyes.

Lily walked over to the barn to pick up the lawn mower and other equipment.

He also briefed Elena on how to use the machine. There are three lawn mowers at their disposal and Lily gives her the lightest machine, so that her young employer can control them easily.

Meanwhile, Evans began struggling with plants that needed to be repaired.

They seemed busy with their respective activities, so it did not feel half the territory was finished Elena cleaned.

Lily gives Elena and Evans, each a large straw hat to banish the sunlight that has started to be on top of their heads.

"Give me a break for a while," Elena asked listlessly.

"Let me continue Miss." Lily offered to take Elena's place, while the girl sat in a park chair not far from Evans' position.

Anna, one of the other maids who did not take a break, came to them with a tray containing a cold drink, two empty glasses, and a plate of cake.

"Thank you, Anna" said Elena. The girl downed her cold drink, after Anna poured the drink into the glass.

"Together, Miss."

Elena's eyes then rolled on Evans who was stretching all the muscles of his stiff body.

Elena's riveted. Under the scorching sun, the figure of the man he had originally seen as Evans, suddenly changed instantly.

"I love you, Iris."

"Please promise me that we'll be together."

Foreign voices suddenly rang out in Elena's ears, making the girl's head start to throb painfully.

"Never cry over my death, Iris. Remember, even though we cannot achieve happiness in this life. In the next life, I promise to make you happy."

The glass Elena held fell down instantly, as flowing teardrops drenched the girl's cheeks.

"Miss El!"

"Miss Elena!"

Before it completely collapsed, Elena could still faintly hear Lily and Anna's screams, followed by the silhouette of a man running towards her.

"Leon" said Elena.

Elena's body almost fell on the grass, if only Evans didn't catch it immediately.
