My brother turned out to be my husband
Chapter 21: Waking Up In A Foreign Place.

The sounds of the animals resonating with each other were deafening, waking Elena from her sleep.

The sunlight instantly caught the sight of the girl as she opened her eyes. Elena suddenly turned her gaze around by looking around.

However, he instead found a foreign place that was completely unknown to him.

"Where is this?" elena muttered in confusion.

As far as his eyes could see, there were only shrubs and tall trees towering there. Not to mention, the sounds of animals that sound creepy.

"The forest?" Inner astonishment. Elena tried to go further to ascertain her guess.

Sure enough! Everything looks the same. He found nothing but those two things there.

"Huh, it's in the woods! Am I really in the woods? Wasn't I standing in front of the office waiting for a taxi?" His head was trying to recall the absurd event he had just experienced. However, the more he remembered, the more his head felt extremely painful.

Elena pinched her own hand as hard as she could.

"Aw!" yelled Elena for a moment. The constant fear hit the girl's heart, when she realized that she was really in the wilderness alone.

"It's not a dream?" he muttered with a horror face. Elena ran as fast as she could while screaming for help. Hoping that someone might accidentally cross paths with him, and be called for help.

The laughter of a girl suddenly sounded faint from a distance. Elena reflexively stopped her footsteps.

With a look full of relief, he approached the direction of the source of the sound. The atmosphere that was still daytime made Elena ventured to check the foreign voice.

"Thank God!" elena screeched when she found out that the voice came from a girl in a simple dress, who was busy picking leaves, roots, and plants, then put them in a wicker basket.

Elena could not see the girl's face, because the girl's position was against her. Without thinking much, he approached the foreign girl.

"Excuse me," said Elena so until the side behind the girl.

Elena frowned. The girl did not respond to her calls at all.

Once, twice Elena called, there was no response from the girl, until she finally dared to touch the girl's shoulder

However, what happened then made Elena completely shocked. His hand turned transparent every time he tried to touch the girl. He could feel pain when he was pinched. Not to mention, the scratches on his feet that were hit by some tree branches while running here. However, in order to touch the body of the foreign girl, Elena really could not do so.

Elena's scared. His memory suddenly revolved on a black SUV that lost control hit his body until it bounced three meters. After hitting him, the car still hit a light pole and stopped there.

Elena's face turned deathly pale. "Am I dead?" Inner panic.

The girl hurriedly shook her head. If he was dead, then why would he feel pain?

Elena took a look at the appearance of the leaf-picking girl who looked very simple and a little shabby. Come to think of it, she was also wearing a slightly strange and ancient-looking dress.

"I can't be in the afterlife!" exclaim Elena. "Then where am I?" she almost cried.

Elena wanted to touch the foreign girl to convince her more. However, just as he was about to raise his hand, suddenly the girl straightened up and turned around.

Elena was surprised, of course, not playing.

"Iris!" pekiknya can't believe it. The reason, the girl that he had only been able to see in a dream, was somehow able to appear before his own eyes.

Knowing the girl's departure, Elena reflexively followed her.

"Iris!" call Elena. He stepped back in front of Iris while waving his hands on the young woman's face.

"Iris, can you see I'm not? It's me, Elena! The girl who always dreamed of you!" elena screamed her hair.

However, like a ghost, Iris was completely unaware of the existence of the girl who was about to enter the age of 19 years.

"Today I got a lot of medicinal herbs. This I can exchange for a little wheat and a cup of salted bread" Iris muttered happily. Rushing the woman ran small towards the only place that could get both food, namely the market.

Elena who was too confused as to what was really going on, decided to follow Iris' steps first. Perhaps, as he walked, he could find the answer.

...***...

"Iris, what are you carrying?" ask Joan, one of Iris's merchants.

Iris smiled as she lifted a basket full of wild plants.

"Well, harvest apparently," joked Joan.

Iris giggles.

"Then, what do you want?" ask Joan later.

Without thinking, Iris said the two foods that are so her intention.

"okay!" Joana took Iris' basket and emptied it. Then, he took out a cup made of copper to scoop out the wheat and put it into Iris' basket. Not to forget, the two largest sprigs of salted bread and two ripe tomatoes were given to the young woman.

"It's too much, Jo!" Iris is not feeling well.

"It's okay. You can make wheat porridge with tomatoes for your beloved husband." Joan smiled as she forcefully extended the basket to the owner.

After a small argument, Iris finally relented. He also thanked Joana as much, and prayed that the merchandise of the kind girl was always selling well.

Elena who saw their sweet interaction smiled knot. I don't know why his heart turned calm and soft.

Finished with the transaction, Iris then stepped towards the only clear spring located there. From the spring, the population can live by using it into drinking water or for other needs.

"It's full of looks." Iris took two large earthenware pieces of hers that were deliberately placed under the hole, where the spring came out.

With great difficulty, Iris took the pottery one by one and placed it on a wheeled board. Before leaving, he took the time to wash his face to refresh and drink the water directly from his hands. Only after that, Iris left there while pushing her wheeled board.

Seeing the struggle of Iris who lived life with simplicity, made Elena's heart feel touched.

He did not know what year Iris lived, but clearly, it was long before modern times came along and facilitated their lives with various technologies.

As she walked, Elena looked around her. The houses there are made of stones and boards arranged in such a way.

The clothes of the people who were there, too, looked not much different from the ones Iris wore.

Curiosity is back. What really happened, and what should he do now?
