Chapter 48: A Piece of Memory.

The following days the Wileen family lived as usual. The health condition of Simon, the head of the family, has also begun to improve after heart bypass surgery was performed. Realizing that she could not give up anymore, Elena decided to finish her dinner and asked.

"The sea of your face is clearly visible," Elena replied.

"It's your turn to know!" chirped Evans.

Several times Elena was seen breathing in order to endure the patience of the older sister.

"It's like I could never have a normal conversation with him!" grumbled the girl in heart.

"Don't like to draw arbitrary conclusions, I'm just too tired to think about Papa's work and condition" Evans said, standing up from his dining chair. The man cleaned their dinner plates and washed them.

As usual, the conversation just broke off. Elena never tried to force Evans to give an answer. At least, he knew that the younger brother was aware of his different attitude.

After dinner, Elena decided to watch television. Evans continues his pending work. Every now and then, the man asked Elena to join him in his work.

"Learn all this, and bring the file as material at the meeting the day after," Evans told Elena.

No word from the sister made Evans turn his eyes to the girl.

His head shook for a moment, when he found Elena had fallen asleep right next to him.

The man closed the laptop and turned his body to face Elena. With a careful movement, he carried the girl's body towards the guest room.

Slowly, Evans placed Elena on the bed and covered her body with a blanket. Not to forget, he also regulates the temperature of the air conditioner so that it is not too cold.

"Leon!"

Evans gasps. Just as she was about to move from there, Elena's call left her unable to move.

"Leon!"

Evans sat down next to Elena. The man noticed the younger brother, who was delirious in calling his name with his eyes closed.

Initially, Evans was about to wake Elena up, but Elena's next words, made Evans' heart rumble.

"Please promise Iris that we'll be together."

A handful of their conversations in the past suddenly filled his head.

As if hypnotized, Evans involuntarily brought himself closer to the girl's face, and kissed her gently.
