Harumi wanted to say something, but Cathy seemed to silence her with just words.
An uncomfortable feeling rose at the bottom of Harumi's stomach. He knew that everything Cathy said was true. Anton is her husband. It was not something Harumi could avoid now, she had to accept that her status was still tied to Anton.
His legs suddenly trembled and nausea rose into his stomach because in his heart he knew that what Cathy was about to say was not easy to hear. Since when has life been easy ? When has he ever shied away from hard and heavy things ?
Cathy faced him with her dark eyes "You can definitely get through it. It might hurt but at least you can keep everyone feeling. Not being selfish is much needed if you want to face Anton. Don't risk yourself, Rumi" Cathy's unblinking eyes she's increasingly trying to pressure Harumi and convince him.
Cathy understood what she was feeling and the turbulent dilemma in her best friend's heart. Living a marriage without feelings is not easy, but if Harumi insists on putting her ego first, Cathy knows how this will end up suffering more for Harumi and destroying more lives for others.
Cathy managed to smile, though her almost painful attempt "Still vividly remembered in my memory of that time, how happy you were when Anton proposed to you. Your feelings at that time were so beautiful that I even envy you, Rumi. You're very lucky. It's just that you're too innocent and don't know many Men yet, so you can't tell the difference between Love and Obsession."
Every word that came from Cathy's lips felt swirling in Harumi's mind, she was unable to examine clearly. It was as if his common sense and heart were at war.
Harumi withdrew a little, her brows furrowing as she stared at the paperbag she had brought earlier "Even to throw it away I was too weak, how to forget it."
Harumi grinned wryly "Am I too stupid, too innocent to control my feelings and my own body I'm too weak"
At one point, Harumi was not sure when exactly she had actually accepted that she had fallen like a fallen tree. This is called Love or just a momentary Obsession.
What does she feel inside her chest and what does she want ? That is Love. Simple and beautiful, but it can be the most dangerous thing.
Harumi closed her eyes, those flashes of memory raging inside her mind. In just such a short time, why would He be able to capture Harumi's heart. Shaking his stance, making him turn around, and creating something that could endanger himself and everyone by his side
Treacheries.
Cathy's fingers grabbed Harumi's arm tightly and the Woman shook her a little "Conscious Rumi. Please !"
"There's nothing you can do for now, other than keep your relationship hidden. Act normal and go back to Anton. And assume you've never met him. Believe me everything will be fine" Cathy said solemnly.
After managing to control herself, Harumi gulped while lifting her chin "Alright" The woman stopped opening her lips, a strange lump in her throat felt blocking the words that were about to come out.
Then with trembling lips and increasingly painful pounding inside him continued to creep "i'll forget about it and maybe erase it from my memory." Harumi's heart was instantly shattered, the pain he felt made all parts of his body as fragile as the sand swept by the waves and this was more painful than when he had to face dangerous things like death.
After that he did not say anything more, Harumi immediately turned towards his room preparing all his belongings, like there was a dagger that tore at his chest but this was different from before.
It's very painful.
Too painful. How could he forget all that memory so easily, all that he had gone through together. From the beautiful to the most dangerous.
Harumi's footsteps were heavy, but that's what she can do now.
Despite everything that happened in Harumi's life, she never lost hope. Hope for Him to be happy.
Cathy feels the sadness in Harumi when she finally decides to fight what is in her heart. And it's not as easy as falling in love.
At one point in the past, Harumi once lost all hope. Trauma that haunts him with all the darkness in his life.
A few seconds passed while Cathy looked at Harumi from behind with a feeling of guilt. His reaction like this, would not make Harumi last longer.
You have to survive, Rumi.
Once in the room, he did not immediately prepare or take his suitcase. Harumi chose to sit on the edge of the bed in silence. His eyes were low, his eyes were empty.
The pain was again present forming small knots in his chest. She squeezed both her hands holding back the tears that tried to flood her face.
While ignoring the flickering anxiety within her, Harumi stopped to fight back, rubbing her face and circulating her gaze, moving around collecting her belongings, which she had left behind for days.
Put one by one his clothes into the suitcase, but I don't know what makes everything feel foreign.
Harumi shook her head at a glance, pulling her from such a short daydream.
After Harumi neatly arranged her clothes into the suitcase, the woman stepped into the bathroom to retrieve all of her toiletries.
When opening the glass cabinet above the sink, Harumi will initially take her toothbrush, then her eyes diverted to an object that made her wonder.
His brows furrowed to notice that small object that was located behind the toothpaste.
Harumi took it, she felt strange why this thing was here. As she recalled before she left the Cathy Apartment, Harumi sure had never seen this item before.
Harumi blinked a few times to clear her vision.
It was a light blue Toothbrush, small in size. Harumi believes that this is not a toothbrush for adults but for children.
Harumi grew even more astonished, and felt disbelief at what she was seeing and grasping right now.
Why is there a child toothbrush here ? After I left his apartment he invited a little boy to spend the night in this room ?
The woman took a deep breath and tried to open her mind.
Harumi shook her head "this must have belonged to her niece, but wait.I remember Cathy did not have a niece because she was an only child. Almost all of his family lived in Amsterdam"
Harumi frowned back, not understanding what was glaring inside her mind. But, he tried not to think about this little thing too deeply because Harumi knew maybe Cathy had a reason.
And that's none of his business.
Harumi put it back where she had taken it. Then, close the glass cabinet.
When the closet door was closed, Harumi caught a glimpse of her reflection in the mirror. He stared at himself for a long time.
In his mind, he stretched the heavy weight into a gust of smoke ash that flew into the sky. But, his heart said another, because after all there was a special space for him.
Where the room was just for her one, and Harumi tried to close it.
Burying it deeper.
Even if it kills him slowly.
Good bye's.
