My Last Wedding Chance

My Last Wedding Chance
Chapter 114 Waves of Gray

Burn and Beat Restaurant Hotel, California

The first impression of seeing this restaurant, Harumi preferred to be quiet without commenting, she just stared blankly at her surroundings. His mind seemed to drift somewhere, he was still thinking about all the words of Ameera. The reality that is so foreign behind Anton's past, for Harumi this is so disturbing him. And most painfully, why is her husband not being forthright about his past to Harumi.

And choosing to hide it, at least Harumi wants Anton to be able to share his story and be able to deal with it together because that is one of the commitments of a marriage. And that, makes their marriage as if it were just a covenant on paper.

Harumi realizes her marriage to Anton is so fragile, even to be open to each other they are very difficult. It was like a marriage with two worlds.

It came to his mind, about Roseanne the real name of her in-laws. The name was no stranger to him.

Roseanne ? that name is like I've heard before, but where ? Has anyone ever mentioned that name before ?

Harumi blinked a few times, to clear her mind. And this has to end immediately. Maybe this has stolen his own mind too much. His mind was already too full of all the foreign conjectures that were growing wildly overpowering him. Not to mention the frequent quarrel with her husband, the stupid threats that Anton made.

This really made Harumi sick and tired.

Although the place offers an amazing atmosphere and panorama. Visuals are very pampering for the eyes of the visitors, but have no effect on Harumi. The woman still looked glum from the trip until they got here.

This restaurant is very famous in California. In addition to being famous for the high-class menus offered by international Chefs, this restaurant is in great demand by upper class people, especially at Lunch time.

When entering the place, Ameera occasionally looked back and looked at Harumi. There was a sense of guilt that shook his heart when he saw Harumi who was just silent with a glare. It was as if the woman bore an overly heavy burden on her shoulders.

Harumi was so immersed in her own thoughts that she didn't even realize Ameera was stopping until she hit him.

"Sorry" Harumi took a step back

Ameera who saw Harumi's behavior, swiftly pulled her hand "Rumi, are you ok ?"

"Its Ok's. Sorry, I didn't notice in front" the woman blinked and raised her face

"Alright, don't daydream Rumi. Look around you. Its Wonderful, Enjoy your days. " Ameera smiled and patted Harumi's arm slowly as if she wanted to resuscitate and pull her from the stupid thoughts that had taken her time.

A waiter at the restaurant approached and invited them to a table reserved by Ameera.

They were sitting at the table right on the second floor, Ameera seemed most enthusiastic about circulating her gaze in all directions. "Well, if I have no connection from my in-laws. We might not be able to have lunch here."

Harumi frowned "Is it that hard to have lunch here ?"

"Whaat ! helloooo Rumi's. The open your eyes. Look !" the woman pointed in all directions. Then the look in Harumi's eyes followed him, he circled the view around the place. When he arrived at the restaurant, he realized.

This restaurant is very beautiful and classy, all the ornaments that decorate look shiny. The warm and refreshing aroma was instantly caught in his sense of smell. These scents are like Floral, olive and wood, so natural.

It is only natural that this restaurant becomes the most prestigious place in California.

All the tables were filled with visitors who had arrived.

"Now you understand, don't you. My in-laws are regulars here and this Restaurant Manager is his acquaintance. Otherwise, there would have been no way I could have made a reservation in just 3 hours beforehand." Stir with both corners of her lips curved high

"OKs. I understand." replied Harumi who began to describe a thin smile on her face that had no expression.

After they ordered the food, Harumi occasionally looked at the place while enjoying its beauty. He realized, it was true what Ameera had said. There is nothing wrong, pampering ourselves with beautiful things and temporarily wasting a heavy burden on our bodies to be able to feel a little bit about ourselves.

Sometimes Harumi often forgets what it's like to be herself without having to rely on someone.

"Rumi.." call Ameera

The woman turned to look at Ameera with widened eyes "Well ?"

"hmmm, I'm sorry to ask you this again. But, if you don't want to answer it it's ok. Are you and Anton okay ? answer honestly" Ameera asked with concern

Harumi was silent for a long time, until she finally opened her mouth "There is no way I say that we never have any problems, every marriage must be problematic. And we're just trying to fix it. It is not easy to unite two heads into one thought."

Ameera observed it with sympathy and there was a sense of awe mixed up on her face. Harumi could have said Anton was a bad husband to her, saying hurtful things how Anton behaved to her but she chose to keep it to herself. And assume that the mistake was sourced from both because Harumi did not want to blame anyone.

"Anton's very lucky to have chosen you, Rumi. I know enough about my sister's character. He is selfish, stubborn, ambitious, and too cold with things that can't give him an advantage. I hope God will repay all your patience"

Harumi pensively sighed "I'm not as perfect as it seems from the outside. I have many shortcomings, many mistakes I have made. Many have been hurt by me."

Only after Harumi again immersed herself in her mistakes did she suffocate and run out of breath. He is not as good as he seems beyond what everyone values. Perhaps for him, Harumi herself was no better than the selfish Anton.

"One more thing, it's been a long time I've wanted to ask you. You rarely talked about the accident that night. Maybe I shouldn't have brought up this matter, just that I felt the impact of the accident was so great in your life that you looked much different, than the first time I met you before your wedding. At that time you were a girl who was cheerful and easy to get along with anyone"

His heart felt heavy as he had to remember the events of that night back, for Harumi to take a step forward was extremely difficult and painful. The big impact he felt after the accident and robbery that hit him that night made his life must feel the big change like a roller coaster that moves so fast.

Harumi felt very fragile if she remembered "whether what to say about it, I couldn't say much about it. Because it changed my life, changed everything. I don't want to blame anyone, maybe this is the way I've been living"

"What I don't know is why the police still haven't found the hit-and-run perpetrator. I know because it was raining so much that it might not see you, or maybe the driver was under the influence of alcohol. But, at least he had to take responsibility at the time of the incident. Instead of running away, letting someone who was dying lay in the middle of the road just like that. "ameera growled while tightly gripping a small roll of cloth on the table.

"Actually I don't want to sue him, I just hope at least he doesn't run away like a Coward. " Harumi blinked, driving away her tears. "If God will one day bring us together, I hope He will still recognize me. That's all it is. I wouldn't hate him, because it changed my life"

Ameera raised her chin and looked into Harumi's eyes "Never forgive such a person, Rumi. Leaving behind his responsibilities, would make his life tormented, I'm sure that person is feeling endless regret. The world will shower him with pain"
