Chapter 17 Heart Rate
Harumi and Anton's House
At 7:15 pm
The routine I used to do after I got home from the store started cooking for dinner. I wish my husband would have come home early today.
There's a lot I want to talk to her about Liam and my plans to spend Valentine's Day with Anton. When we were dating, Anton wasn't the Romantic type. He is very rigid to the problem of such things, even to give me flowers I have to ask first.
But Anton used to be a gentle and gentle man to me. It was very different from her now who looked very cold and increasingly indifferent.
I'm cooking Bubble and Squeak tonight, it's a very easy menu to make. I often cook that menu for my family.
This food makes me miss Mom, Dad, Takeru and Ben. We rarely meet these days because of our busy lives. Dad is more focused on his own business, a small car shop that he has run for 10 years, after his father retired as a sailor.
Although I rarely met, I never forgot to call them on the phone. Sometimes my mom would stop by my house to bring groceries or just ask us how we were doing. I just wish my family could live happily and healthily always.
The dining table was finally neatly arranged, my cooking was finished as well. I hope Anton gets home soon.
I waited patiently at the dinner table.
Not to forget I sent a short message to Anton, asking what time he would be home.
He immediately replied to my message, apparently not the answer I expected from my husband.
"i can't go home tonight, there's still a lot of work to do right away. I'm gonna sleep in the office, there's Daniel and some of the staff, too. You go to bed first"
I didn't reply back to Anton's message, it's enough just to know how he's doing tonight to calm me down even though I'm so sad.
With a very disappointed heart, I shed tears. I forced my body to move to clean the dining table that I had arranged neatly before, I put the food I had cooked earlier into the refrigerator.
With very heavy steps I tried to move. Even going to the fridge feels far away.
After finishing the business in the kitchen, I stepped towards the sofa. I leaned against my body, lying down with my arms as his pillow. My blank gaze looked at the unlit TV.
I was so lonely and lonely, that's all I feel right now.

Before long there was an incoming call, rushing I ran to pick up my phone that I put on the dining table. I hope it's from Anton, I hope he changes his mind and can go home.
But it's not, I'm a little disappointed.
"Hallo" I replied
"Have you eaten, Flower Girl ?"
Liam is calling me right now.
"Already, what's up Liam ?"
"I'm hungry, accompany me tonight"
"Hungry ? but Liam it's night, I can't keep you out."

I was very surprised to hear Liam's answer, what he meant in front of my house. End call.
I rushed to the front window, it was true. I saw Liam standing next to his parked car in front of my house.
I approached him outside who was alone without his secretary and bodyguards.
"Liam what does this mean ?" I asked who was really surprised at him.
"i'm so tired and hungry, aren't you kasian to me ?" Liam put on his face.
"Liam is enough, don't joke like this. What if Anton finds out you're here ? I'm not comfortable how the neighbors see you at night to my house."
I started to get nervous, because the neighbors of this area like to gossip. Not wanting to be their talk, I tried to force Liam to come home.
I quickly grabbed Liam's hand, took him inside the house. If I let it out, it's gonna get louder, and there's gonna be neighbors hearing it.
"Liam, I can't be like this."
We were already inside the house, Liam standing very close in front of me. He looked at me without speaking, our eyes met.
He stroked the top of my head again, Liam often did this to me.
"Liam, I'll prepare dinner for you, but I beg you to come home after this."
Trying to divert, I don't want to be alone with him for too long tonight. I feel unworthy if we are like this.
"Rumi, come with me to California tomorrow ! I can't stand leaving you like this, I can't stand missing you"
Suddenly Liam pulled my hand and hugged me tightly. Kiss my forehead gently.
My heart started pounding so fast, in his arms I could feel Liam's heartbeat. He was just as fluttering as I was. Our bodies react to each other the same way.

I went to the kitchen, got a glass and a bottle of wine for him.
"You want some wine, Liam ?" I shouted from the kitchen.

While preparing food for her, I invited Liam to chat from the kitchen so as not to feel lonely and awkward.
"Why isn't Secretary Will coming ?"
"Why he's coming, I don't want him to watch us cuddle" Liam always casually answered my questions.
Liam stood up from his seat, stepping around my house. He stopped looking at my wedding photos on the Bookcase. He looked at me with envy and jealousy.
Then he stepped into the kitchen, looking at me who was busy preparing food.
He then hugged me again from behind, to my surprise I panicked and dropped the spoon on the floor.
"Liam stop, don't be like this. Didn't I tell you we're just friends and there's no way we can be in a relationship."
"Leave it for a moment. Tomorrow I can't see you for a while" Liam whispered
Slowly he pushed my hair aside, I could feel his breath touching my body. He landed a kiss on my neck, engraving signs of his love.
My body seemed to be bewitched by him, bound to no resistance. I'm afraid this is getting me washed away.
His hands were coiled around my waist as if he didn't want any more barriers for us to enjoy each other that night.
Liam is getting bolder, he began not to care about all the risks that will be faced later. He wanted Harumi to be his.
Before long, I realized because I heard a ringing call coming from my phone. I immediately broke away from Liam and ran to answer the call, which I thought was from Anton.
"Hallo Brother ?" incoming call from Takeru My sister
"What's takeru ?"
"Mother says Tomorrow Kaka and Kak Anton have dinner at home, Ben's birthday tomorrow, have you forgotten ?"
"Of course I remember Ben's birthday, I must be there, greetings to mom, dad and Ben ya"
"Okee, bye" Takeru hung up.
