Chapter 18 Between The Two
"My brother Ben is on his 10th birthday tomorrow, so we're celebrating a simple dinner"
Liam just smiled at me who was wrong. And I don't dare to return his eyes again.
I began to arrange the dining table, I took two dishes and put down my cooking earlier. I was a bit clumsy because of Liam's mischievous behavior earlier.
"Why is your cheek red ?" Liam laughed in satisfaction for successfully teasing me.
"already Liam, I don't want you to behave like that" I replied with a pouty face
We sat at the dinner table and started enjoying dinner. Liam was very greedy to finish the food that I had cooked earlier.
"Slowly eat it, it can choke later."
"This food is so good, how can you cook so well." Liam's face looked very happy to enjoy the food.
"Thank God you like my cooking, it's just a simple meal. My mom used to cook it for us at home"
I could only watch Liam gobble up the food. He even finished off my dinner ration as well, I didn't expect him to like it very much.
It crossed my mind, the food supply that I always made for Anton often did not run out, what because it was not good or so busy that he ate the provisions alone did not have time.
"After you're done, you need to go home to Liam."
"You're starting to dare to throw me out ?"
"It's not like that, it's night. It is not good to accept male guests to the house of married women who are alone" I said as if giving advice to this nosy man.
"i just want to see you before leaving tomorrow, waaaaahhh even though I am full, I want to devour you too Harumi!!" As usual Liam's reaction was always joking and relaxed when with me, I seriously he responded by laughing.
"can you take Liam seriously once"
"Do you want me to be serious, baby ?" Temptation Liam looked me in the eye
Liam started staring mischievously at my eyes, his gaze started to drop down to the neck all the way to my entire curves. Liam didn't speak just a naughty smile on his face.
"Enough Liam" I replied with flushed cheeks and increasingly misbehavior
I stood up and straightened the dining table. I don't want to provoke any more conversations with him.
"Are you angry ? all right I'll be home."
Liam approached Harumi who was busy washing the tableware. He hugged Harumi back, whispering something.
"I'm sorry, don't be angry again yeah, tomorrow I'm leaving, I want to keep calling you, Harumi"
"Liam, please don't expect more from me, I still love my Husband very much, My household is indeed troubled but I want to give my best for our marriage."
I turned around to let go of Liam's embrace, and I tried to convince him that we were just friends and nothing more.
But Liam did not give up in the slightest, nor did I understand what his purpose was towards me.
"I don't care, I'll make sure you're mine, Harumi. If only Anton was the barrier. It's easy for me to get rid of him." replied Liam who remained firm with his stance.
"Why are you like this ? isn't it easy for you to find another woman as a companion, but why did you choose me who would even bring you so much trouble ? "
The atmosphere at that moment became silent, Liam just looked at my face. He did not say a single word, from the look of his eyes as if answering my question. Liam stroked my long hair again, rubbing it all over my face.
"if I hadn't made a mistake back then, fate wouldn't have brought us together now. And maybe this raging feeling will never exist" Liam replied by raising many more questions in my mind.
"Thank you for Rumi's dinner, I hope to come back here soon and eat your cooking again. "
Liam kissed my forehead gently and then stepped out. He did not look back, opening the door directly into the car.
He didn't look at me anymore.
I began to think about what Liam said earlier, what he meant by mistake, what mistake Liam really meant.
Early Morning
At 04:15 am
Anton came home early in the morning, he stepped into the bathroom, changed his clothes and immediately broke down.
I, who was still lying in bed, woke up because I heard the sound of the door opening. Anton was already lying closed his eyes next to mine, his face looking tired.
I hugged my husband who was now beside me, I rubbed his brown hair, I could smell the perfume on his body like a mixture of carousel and vanilla. This was the distinctive scent of his body that had not changed.
Anton opened his eyes, he looked at Harumi who was hugging her tightly. Highlight Anton's eyes began to turn soft to see the wife who had been patient with him.
Anton rubbed Harumi's head.
"Darling, haven't you slept yet ?" I asked for a reflex to look at him when he touched my hair.
He just shut up and said something that surprised me.
"I'm sorry"
Anton's answer made me not comment anything I was so surprised he said sorry to me, I wanted to cry. I looked into my husband's eyes with tears.
Anton threw me beside him quietly, he wiped my tears. Kissing all over my face landed a warm kiss on my lips. No compulsion, no anger, no fighting.
And no one gets hurt, we love each other and attach an already unstoppable longing.
I miss a time like this. As soon as we felt our hearts beating rhythmically, the cold sighs in my body brought me closer to our bodies.
Anton hugged me warmly, I felt safe in his arms. A hug that erases all the silence I've felt all along.
The happiness I can't express, now I hope it never ends.
Not long after, my husband fell asleep. Anton who was very tired after overtime, I could hear his heavy breathing.
The sight I longed for was to see the face of my husband who had fallen asleep in front of me without turning his back on me. All this time it was just the view from his back that I saw every night.
But this moment all changed for the better, a simple moment that will continue in the memories of my life. It was when my husband would little by little accept me with all my shortcomings.
I stared at her sleeping face, I touched her feathers that closed down with a soft touch from my finger. I rubbed Anton's hair a little wet after he took a shower.
"I've always loved you" a friendly whisper that made Anton move around hugging me my body tighter like a child who could not escape with his favorite bolster.
I didn't tell you about Liam's arrival. I don't really want any secrets between us, but I don't want to ruin my happy moment with Anton.
